Family-friendly holiday rentals in McHenry County

Christine’s place was the perfect get-away for a family vacation close to home. The lake was beautiful and the place was spotless and inviting. It felt like you walked in to your own home. It’s close to places to eat and there is even a community space just a few houses down that is lively if the weather is nice. I’m hoping to come back again!

This was our second visit to Amanda’s and just like the first time, it left my boys with fun memories. We will be back next summer.

This was a very nice house and it accommodated 16 people with no problem at all. The host is very responsive and it was very clean and felt like home

Amanda is the best host I’ve ever had, she is so friendly and responsive. Her kitchen was fully equipped, she gave us the option of having firewood delivered, the place is absolutely beautiful, you walk down some stairs to get to the beach. A group of 8 moms went there for a weekend getaway and it was exactly what we needed. Thank you!

Clean, roomy place. Short drive to stores or walk/shuttle to resort pool/restaurants. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. The only disappointment was the golf course was closed.

This house looks like it does in the photos. It is an easy walk to downtown in a safe area. Had a great stay overall!

Very nice place to host our large family Christmas gathering. Plenty of room for everybody. The game room was very much appreciated and well used.

Being directly across from the beach was amazing but what was better is there was enough gear, kayaks, paddle boards, life jackets, chairs, and so on, available for our use we were able to enjoy the beach and water all day together.

We really enjoyed Andy's place! The location is beautiful, right on the lake. We fished right off the pier and also took the boat out to fish. Andy had instructions for EVERYTHING, which was so helpful! We will be back!

A great place to stay at a great value. We used all 6 bedrooms. Perfect location. Papi surprised us with pastry the first and second morning. Was a real pleasure to stay at his place.

We had a great stay at the icehouse! Definitely a more historic unit but matched the descriptions and was perfect for our quick weekend getaway! Also a quick walk to everything downtown and the lake is right across the street. As long as you are not looking for something modern or fancy, this place is perfect!

We had a wonderful weekend in McHenry at Greg's place. It is unique, comfortable, spacious, and pretty close to a main downtown area with lots of restaurants/bars. The window views are beautiful. And, we especially loved the sauna and fireplace! We stayed in the winter and didn't get to fully enjoy the lake and large yard, so we will definitely have to come back in the summer.

This was the perfect place for my girlfriends and I to crash while in town for the night. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Would stay here again.

We were in town for a wedding and needed a place we could stay where we could leave our dog crates during the day. We got upgraded to a bigger cabin since they had space. It was perfect! Thank you for the stay!

Pictures didn’t do this place justice, clean and very well furnished. Kitchen fully stocked as if they live there full time. High end utensils and kitchenware. Very cozy, well lit during the day, several spots to hang out indoors and outside with lots of entertainment options indoors, lots of room to roam outside and a fire pit . Sandra responds instantly, she’s very far from you so you have privacy but always available to come by if you needed anything. Sandra invited my daughter to help her groom the horse and that made her day. Would visit again for sure, and perhaps in the winter if available. The fireplace beckons. There’s an XL size griddle outside which I was allowed to use. She’s offering you all she has, so treat it with care and respect and clean after yourself so that we can all enjoy her place. Great spot! The condo was clean, comfortable, and quiet. It was a short walk to the beach and restaurants. Mandy’s detailed directions and instructions made checking in a breeze. Our group of four had a fantastic time.

We had a fantastic time here! The property has an incredible deck that extends into the surrounding forest. We had breakfast outside every morning! If you love wildlife, you'll love this place.

Charming and comfortable - In the heart of Geneva close to cute shops and many restaurants! Very clean with convenient parking. Wonderful stay!

Debbie was very communicative before and during our stay. The property has plenty of yard room for outdoor activities and we loved that we didn’t feel stacked up against a bunch of other houses. The driveway can accommodate a group of cars and we loved the reclining couch in the basement. I’d highly recommend this property.

Beautiful and eclectic home. It was perfect for our group of girls visiting from all over the U.S to attend our HS Reunion. Plenty of lovely spaces to gather or a private, quiet nook to read or rest. The pool was wonderful. Beds were super comfortable. Kitchen was large enough and well stocked to prepare meals. Andy was very responsive with any issues or questions. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved this location. We ended up not even going into Lake Geneva until we were driving out. Close to Williams Bay for the Shoreline Trail. Close to restaurants and walking distance to activities. We fished right from the dock and caught a lot of Blue Bill, Northern Pike and Bass. We encountered a lot of wild life; turtles (we watched her laying eggs, cranes, deer, a snake) Pool was fun, listened to music up at the Lodge by the fire and enjoyed the condo. It was very comfortable and welcoming. We will be back!
