Amazing stay!

This cosy cottage set amidst beech trees with one of the most effective wood fires I’ve ever used was a fabulous retreat. Our afternoon walks ranged from the reflective waters of Pearl Harbour to the snowy mountains and scenic lake. The nearby cafe was an added plus. Mary’s communication was excellent throughout - we would definitely stay again.

Anna’s home is a beautiful, well-kept, and well proportioned house with an absolutely stunning view. We’ve stayed in lots of ‘tiny homes’ but Anna’s truly feels like a proper house, with a separate living room, bedroom, bathroom, and generous outdoor seating area. The home was pristine, and well stocked with everything we’d need. We particularly appreciated the binoculars for birdwatching on lake manapouri. Bed was large and comfy, we got great sleep with zero noise. Shower was hot with good power. We took a day trip to Doubtful Sound (absolutely spectacular; you must do), and we were able to walk from Anna’s place to the harbour, making the trip effortless. You can also take a short walk to lake manapouri and enjoy a swim. Anna was a wonderful host, and was very kind and considerate in her messaging. We loved staying in Anna’s place and would love to stay there again. 11 out of 10!

The property was clean and thoughtfully furnished, with all the amenities needed for cooking and doing laundry. My child enjoyed interacting with the animals on the farm. The landscape that greets you in the morning is amazing! And the night sky… omg. The location is an easy 15-min drive to Te Anau for groceries. We appreciate the warm and lovely Kiwi hospitality extended to us from Lyn and Hans. :-)
