House holiday rentals in Makarska Riviera

SHE House was as advertised. We quickly called her home feeling acclimated & comfortable. Our GPS sent us some terrible way initially but the locals were very friendly offering us assistance. Our host was patient & accommodating showing us how many ways to reach the house ("all roads lead to SHE House"). We really enjoyed how centrally located the home was to all things on Brac Island. We realized our visit was a bit early for the weather & the season when our original ferry from Makarska was cancelled due to bad weather but no worries we just had to go to Split. The wind was so strong it actually blew open the latched front door one afternoon. The soft throws in the basket were nice & cozy-really appreciated. Some of our favorite meals were at Pumparela Restaurant & Taverna Riva in Bol; Konoba Kopacina & Restaurant Ziza in Donji Humac; Gastro Diva in Makarska. Driving in Croatia is NOT for the faint of heart but if you happen to be on the D8 stop for coffee at Strada.

The villa is fantastic and the local area is quiet but has enough restaurants and bars to keep you busy. Getting in and out of Split is easy and Uber is very good value (do not use local taxis). The standout feature of the property is the outside area including the views. It is easy to access the sea and beach, and the water is beautiful. The only potential to the villa is how it is split across two properties. This was not an issue for us at all, and for some people this may be a bonus, but worth noting.

Maja's house is beautifully located, on a hillside overlooking the sea, the islands of Hvar and Brac and mountains. We were traveling with the dog and could take many beautiful walks from the house. The house is well furnished and the icing on the cake is the huge pool, where you can enjoy the wonderful sunsets. Maja welcomed us warmly and was always available for questions.

Had a wonderful stay! The place is just like the photos, with amazing views out to sea and across to Split. A fantastic outdoor space with the heated pool and outdoor kitchen where we prepared and cooked all our meals. The bedrooms were comfortable, with good temperature control, blackout shutters, and well sound insulated from any noises outside. Recommend the short hike up the hill behind the house for even more amazing views in all directions. Nina and Petar were great hosts, proactively making contact ahead of arrival and departure, meeting on our schedule, providing great recommendations for things to see and do, and being easily reachable if needed.

I had a great stay at Tom’s villa! It’s in a beautiful setting with incredible views of the Adriatic and the mountains in the distance, with a sparkling pool and vineyards in between - stunning! Shops and restaurants nearby were open during the first few days of my stay but closed down in early October. Plenty of great restaurants in Jelsa though which was still walking distance from the villa (3km). Tom had wine, and other drinks in the fridge and snacks on the table prior to checking which was so appreciated and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need for cooking (spices, oils, etc). Don’t hesitate, if you’re looking for a great villa in a perfect setting, book Villa Tomic!

Wow! I really think this could be one of the most breathtaking views we have ever had on holiday, it’s just amazing. The house is beautiful. Plenty of space for a family of four and it is equipped with everything we needed. We didn’t spend much time inside though because the outside area is just so lovely. The heated pool was fantastic for the children and the summer kitchen is just brilliant. We have never stayed in such a perfect place. The local area is beautiful. We went hiking and Petar also recommended a rafting company that we went out with and had a brilliant time. Both trips were great ways to explore. We also went to some beaches that Petar recommended and spent a day around Mostar which was also incredible. A fantastic holiday all round. Thank you

This place is absolutely amazing. We loved every second of staying here. Very secluded, if you decided you didn’t want to see ANYONE for a few days this is the place to go. The walk to the private beach is not easy (so be cautious) but definitely worth it. Everything was very clean and we had everything we needed for cooking! The outside grill was awesome, we probably used it every night for dinner. SO BEAUTIFUL.. even better than the pictures!! 100% recommend to anyone who wants to experience Croatia in its raw form.

Fantastic nice place, absolutely lived up to expectations. Beautiful view! All we needed in terms of facilities. Very practical with three bedrooms + three bathrooms. A little annoying with barking from dogs in the distant neighborhood, but nothing that spoiled the good overall impression. We will gladly come back and can safely recommend the place to others. Perfect for a family of 5-6 people.

This is a great apartment in the old town, so easy to walk everywhere. The seafront is only a 2-3 minute walk away. Sandra met us at the apartment, which is an easy walk from the bus station. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had a great balcony with old town and sea views. Ideal for your morning coffee. The apartment was very well equipped. We'd definitely stay again. There is a great Thai restaurant next door.

This place is absolutely like the pictures let you imagine. Peaceful und privat. It was great watching the amazing view to the Sea in the hammock with different colours at different times of the day and night. The apartment was well equipment Kitchen and clean spaces. Wow! A lovely villa, with spectacular views. Inside it is modern, well equipped and very comfortable. The outside area is incredible, with a beautiful pool and lots of space to enjoy the sun. There are views of the sea on one side, and mountains on the other. A very quiet, peaceful and secluded location that is not overlooked. Only the mountain goats can see! A perfect place for couples looking for privacy. Valentino was a wonderful host. Very quick to answer any questions, provide recommendations, and always keen to make sure we enjoyed our holiday. He visited a couple of times to tend to the pool and check we were happy with everything. The only drawback to this place is also the main benefit - its location. It's good to be away from everyone and have great views, but that requires a 10-minute drive along a narrow winding road to get to and from the nearest town. You soon get used to it, and after a couple of days you can tackle it like a local! Highly recommended!

We had the most wonderful experience staying at Milena and Mirko’s villa. From the moment we arrived, Milena made us feel incredibly welcome. She was warm, thoughtful, and went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. Her hospitality was truly above and beyond – always available, kind, generous and full of advice and local secrets.  Mirko was equally lovely – a kind-hearted host who regularly checked on the villa to make sure everything was perfect. He even brought us thoughtful little gifts during our stay, which made us feel extra special. The villa itself is immaculately maintained. The pool and hot tub are outstanding, and the outdoor summer kitchen is a dream come true – perfect for cooking and relaxing in the stunning surroundings. The view from the villa gave us a true sense of peace and escape. We can't recommend this place enough. It’s clear that Milena and Mirko put their hearts into hosting this villa. We would definitely return.

We stayed in the beautiful stone house for 6 days in September and it was just fantastic! The small house impressed us with its authentic charm, and the view of the sea was simply breathtaking – waking up every morning and looking directly at the sparkling water was a highlight. The house is lovingly decorated, very clean and offers everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Roman and Eva were friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We recommend this place to anyone looking for peace and quiet in an idyllic setting. We will be happy to come back!

Fantastic place! We will definitely want to come back. Everything is as described, beautiful view from the terrace, parking by the building, 20m to the beach, washer and dryer so you can wash things. Next to small eateries, a store, it's definitely worth coming here for longer!

We loved our stay at Antonio’s place. Antonio is a very gracious and responsive host, and his place is clean, beautiful, unique, and in an amazing location. We could easily walk to cafes, restaurants, the beach, supermarkets, and we loved the Spina Bar which is just downstairs.

Exactly what we were hoping for. Relaxing, comfortable and private, surrounded by nature and few steps from the beautiful Adriatic. Grano was a wonderful host, warm, kind and super easy to communicate with. Thank you, Grano!

We had a great week in Marino's newly renovated apartment and felt at home from the start. The apartment is actually a small house, which is located at the end of a cul-de-sac and has a very idyllic flower-decorated entrance. You feel very private and embedded in the small settlement directly above the harbor, whose soundscape can be heard through the open window. In just under two minutes, you can reach the harbor, the promenade and the beach via a short path. Everything is within walking distance, so you only need a car to visit other places or sights. Marino and his mother Carka are great hosts who make the entire stay incl. Arrival and departure are very easy, they are always available and take very good care of the well-being of their guests. The house is equipped with everything you need and has a spectacular balcony as a highlight. Will come back!

Can’t rate this place and this area highly enough. First visit to Croatia and fell in love. The house is perfect for a small family, everything you need, offstreet parking, plenty of space and god did we need the pool with the weather we had. Although you can walk down to the beach having a car was ideal as it was a 2 minute drive to the marina, shops or any of the wide range of restaurants. Milan is a top guy and great host. Responsive to any questions we had as it was our first visit to the country and couldn’t fault the whole experience.

What an amazing place! Peaceful, private, with a wonderful view and your own beach. We took advantage of the paddle boards and had a wonderful time. As others have said, it’s some distance from town, so you’ll want a car or be prepared to bike a lot (bikes are provided). But that also means it’s very quiet. Lots of birds and butterflies. The accommodations are compact but clean and well-appointed. More than adequate, since you won’t want to spend much time inside anyway. We also appreciated the tasty snacks left for us. Hope to visit again!

We were at Marino and Ana's accommodation in Makarska at the beginning of June - and what can I say: an absolute dream. The accommodation is breathtakingly beautiful, modern and stylishly furnished, with a great pool. The view of the sea and the surrounding mountains is spectacular - waking up every morning was a real highlight. Everything was spotless to the last corner - you can see how much value Marino and Ana place on quality and cleanliness. The key handover also went completely smoothly and the communication with the two was perfect at all times – friendly, fast and uncomplicated. The location is fantastically quiet and perfect for relaxing. The path to the beach is more for athletic guests - but by car, scooter or taxi you can be down by the water in a few minutes. For us, it was the perfect combination of views, tranquility and proximity to the center. We would come back at any time and give 5 out of 5 stars in all categories - a clear recommendation.

Thanks to Igor and marija, We had spent wonderful 6 days here. Place is literally located in the beach . Having a huge terrace made everything much more relaxed . Totally recommended!

Wonderful stay in a quiet location. Perfect views and weather. Pool area had plenty of sun all day round. Hot tub shaded. Great communication with host and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
