House holiday rentals in Makarska Riviera

SHE House was as advertised. We quickly called her home feeling acclimated & comfortable. Our GPS sent us some terrible way initially but the locals were very friendly offering us assistance. Our host was patient & accommodating showing us how many ways to reach the house ("all roads lead to SHE House"). We really enjoyed how centrally located the home was to all things on Brac Island. We realized our visit was a bit early for the weather & the season when our original ferry from Makarska was cancelled due to bad weather but no worries we just had to go to Split. The wind was so strong it actually blew open the latched front door one afternoon. The soft throws in the basket were nice & cozy-really appreciated. Some of our favorite meals were at Pumparela Restaurant & Taverna Riva in Bol; Konoba Kopacina & Restaurant Ziza in Donji Humac; Gastro Diva in Makarska. Driving in Croatia is NOT for the faint of heart but if you happen to be on the D8 stop for coffee at Strada.

The villa is fantastic and the local area is quiet but has enough restaurants and bars to keep you busy. Getting in and out of Split is easy and Uber is very good value (do not use local taxis). The standout feature of the property is the outside area including the views. It is easy to access the sea and beach, and the water is beautiful. The only potential to the villa is how it is split across two properties. This was not an issue for us at all, and for some people this may be a bonus, but worth noting.

Majas Haus ist sehr schön gelegen, am Hang mit Blick auf Meer, die Inseln Hvar und Brac und Berge. Wir waren mit dem Hund unterwegs und konnten viele schöne Wanderungen vom Haus aus machen. Das Haus ist gut eingerichtet und das Sahnehäubchen ist der riesige Pool, in welchem man die herrlichen Sonnenuntergänge geniessen kann. Maja hat uns herzlich empfangen und war bei Fragen immer erreichbar.

Had a wonderful stay! The place is just like the photos, with amazing views out to sea and across to Split. A fantastic outdoor space with the heated pool and outdoor kitchen where we prepared and cooked all our meals. The bedrooms were comfortable, with good temperature control, blackout shutters, and well sound insulated from any noises outside. Recommend the short hike up the hill behind the house for even more amazing views in all directions. Nina and Petar were great hosts, proactively making contact ahead of arrival and departure, meeting on our schedule, providing great recommendations for things to see and do, and being easily reachable if needed.

I had a great stay at Tom’s villa! It’s in a beautiful setting with incredible views of the Adriatic and the mountains in the distance, with a sparkling pool and vineyards in between - stunning! Shops and restaurants nearby were open during the first few days of my stay but closed down in early October. Plenty of great restaurants in Jelsa though which was still walking distance from the villa (3km). Tom had wine, and other drinks in the fridge and snacks on the table prior to checking which was so appreciated and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need for cooking (spices, oils, etc). Don’t hesitate, if you’re looking for a great villa in a perfect setting, book Villa Tomic!

Wow! I really think this could be one of the most breathtaking views we have ever had on holiday, it’s just amazing. The house is beautiful. Plenty of space for a family of four and it is equipped with everything we needed. We didn’t spend much time inside though because the outside area is just so lovely. The heated pool was fantastic for the children and the summer kitchen is just brilliant. We have never stayed in such a perfect place. The local area is beautiful. We went hiking and Petar also recommended a rafting company that we went out with and had a brilliant time. Both trips were great ways to explore. We also went to some beaches that Petar recommended and spent a day around Mostar which was also incredible. A fantastic holiday all round. Thank you

This place is absolutely amazing. We loved every second of staying here. Very secluded, if you decided you didn’t want to see ANYONE for a few days this is the place to go. The walk to the private beach is not easy (so be cautious) but definitely worth it. Everything was very clean and we had everything we needed for cooking! The outside grill was awesome, we probably used it every night for dinner. SO BEAUTIFUL.. even better than the pictures!! 100% recommend to anyone who wants to experience Croatia in its raw form.

Fantastisk fint sted, levde absolutt opp til forventningene. Nydelig utsikt! Alt vi trengte av fasiliteter. Veldig praktisk med tre soverom + tre bad. Litt irriterende med bjeffing fra hunder i fjernt nabolag, men ingenting som ødela for det gode helhetsinntrykket. Vi kommer gjerne igjen og kan trygt anbefale stedet til andre. Perfekt for familie på 5-6 personer.

This is a great apartment in the old town, so easy to walk everywhere. The seafront is only a 2-3 minute walk away. Sandra met us at the apartment, which is an easy walk from the bus station. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had a great balcony with old town and sea views. Ideal for your morning coffee. The apartment was very well equipped. We'd definitely stay again. There is a great Thai restaurant next door.

This place is absolutely like the pictures let you imagine. Peaceful und privat. It was great watching the amazing view to the Sea in the hammock with different colours at different times of the day and night. The apartment was well equipment Kitchen and clean spaces. Spacious parkingspot for even a big car. We're coming back, thanks Marko! 😊

Wow! A lovely villa, with spectacular views. Inside it is modern, well equipped and very comfortable. The outside area is incredible, with a beautiful pool and lots of space to enjoy the sun. There are views of the sea on one side, and mountains on the other. A very quiet, peaceful and secluded location that is not overlooked. Only the mountain goats can see! A perfect place for couples looking for privacy. Valentino was a wonderful host. Very quick to answer any questions, provide recommendations, and always keen to make sure we enjoyed our holiday. He visited a couple of times to tend to the pool and check we were happy with everything. The only drawback to this place is also the main benefit - its location. It's good to be away from everyone and have great views, but that requires a 10-minute drive along a narrow winding road to get to and from the nearest town. You soon get used to it, and after a couple of days you can tackle it like a local! Highly recommended!

We had the most wonderful experience staying at Milena and Mirko’s villa. From the moment we arrived, Milena made us feel incredibly welcome. She was warm, thoughtful, and went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. Her hospitality was truly above and beyond – always available, kind, generous and full of advice and local secrets.  Mirko was equally lovely – a kind-hearted host who regularly checked on the villa to make sure everything was perfect. He even brought us thoughtful little gifts during our stay, which made us feel extra special. The villa itself is immaculately maintained. The pool and hot tub are outstanding, and the outdoor summer kitchen is a dream come true – perfect for cooking and relaxing in the stunning surroundings. The view from the villa gave us a true sense of peace and escape. We can't recommend this place enough. It’s clear that Milena and Mirko put their hearts into hosting this villa. We would definitely return.

Wir haben im September für 6 Tage im wunderschönen Steinhaus übernachtet und es war einfach traumhaft! Das kleine Haus hat uns mit seinem authentischen Charme begeistert, und der Ausblick aufs Meer war einfach atemberaubend – jeden Morgen aufzuwachen und direkt auf das glitzernde Wasser zu blicken, war ein Highlight. Das Haus ist liebevoll eingerichtet, sehr sauber und bietet alles, was man für einen entspannten Urlaub braucht. Roman und Eva waren freundlich und hilfsbereit, was unseren Aufenthalt noch angenehmer gemacht hat. Wir können diese Unterkunft jedem empfehlen, der Ruhe und Erholung in einer idyllischen Umgebung sucht. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Fantastyczne miejsce! Z pewnością będziemy chcieli wrócić. Wszystko zgodne z opisem, przepiękny widok z tarasu, parking przy budynku, 20m do plaży, pralka oraz suszarka dzięki czemu można wyprać rzeczy. Obok małe knajpki, sklep, zdecydowanie warto przyjechać tu na dłużej!

We loved our stay at Antonio’s place. Antonio is a very gracious and responsive host, and his place is clean, beautiful, unique, and in an amazing location. We could easily walk to cafes, restaurants, the beach, supermarkets, and we loved the Spina Bar which is just downstairs.

Wir waren das erste Mal in Stončica bei Sara und haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Es waren zeitweise bis zu 14 Boote in der Bucht und damit war es nicht immer ruhig, aber das war uns bewusst und die lauten Boote blieben zum Glück in der Minderheit! Das Haus ist traumhaft und sehr zweckmäßig eingerichtet und es war alles vorhanden was wir brauchten. Sara hat uns dann sogar kurzfristig noch Olivenöl von einer Bekannten besorgt, Super Service!! Vielen lieben Dank für deine Gastfreundschaft Sara!!!!

Exactly what we were hoping for. Relaxing, comfortable and private, surrounded by nature and few steps from the beautiful Adriatic. Grano was a wonderful host, warm, kind and super easy to communicate with. Thank you, Grano!

Wir haben eine tolle Woche in Marinos frisch renovierten Apartment erlebt und haben uns von von Anfang an wie Zuhause gefühlt. Das Apartment ist dabei eigentlich ein kleines Haus, das am Ende einer Sackgasse liegt und einen sehr idyllischen blumen-verzierten Eingang aufweist. Man fühlt sich sehr privat und eingebettet in die kleine Siedlung direkt oberhalb des Hafens, dessen Klangkulisse durch das offene Fenster hindurch zu hören ist. In knapp zwei Minuten erreicht man über einen kurzen Weg den Hafen, die Promenade und auch den Strand. Alles ist gut zu Fuß erreichbar, so dass man ein Auto nur für den Besuch von anderen Orten oder Sehenswürdigkeiten benötigt. Marino und seine Mutter Carka sind großartige Gastgeber, die den gesamten Aufenthalt inkl. An- und Abreise sehr einfach gestalten, stets erreichbar sind und sich sehr herzlich um das Wohlergehen ihrer Gäste kümmern. Das Haus ist mit allem Notwendigen ausgestattet und weist als Krönung einen spektakulären Balkon auf. Kommen wieder!

Can’t rate this place and this area highly enough. First visit to Croatia and fell in love. The house is perfect for a small family, everything you need, offstreet parking, plenty of space and god did we need the pool with the weather we had. Although you can walk down to the beach having a car was ideal as it was a 2 minute drive to the marina, shops or any of the wide range of restaurants. Milan is a top guy and great host. Responsive to any questions we had as it was our first visit to the country and couldn’t fault the whole experience.

What an amazing place! Peaceful, private, with a wonderful view and your own beach. We took advantage of the paddle boards and had a wonderful time. As others have said, it’s some distance from town, so you’ll want a car or be prepared to bike a lot (bikes are provided). But that also means it’s very quiet. Lots of birds and butterflies. The accommodations are compact but clean and well-appointed. More than adequate, since you won’t want to spend much time inside anyway. We also appreciated the tasty snacks left for us. Hope to visit again!

Wir waren Anfang Juni in der Unterkunft von Marino und Ana in Makarska – und was soll ich sagen: ein absoluter Traum. Die Unterkunft ist atemberaubend schön, modern und stilvoll eingerichtet, mit einem tollen Pool. Die Aussicht auf das Meer und die umliegenden Berge ist spektakulär – jeden Morgen aufzuwachen war ein echtes Highlight. Alles war bis in die letzte Ecke blitzsauber – man merkt, wie viel Wert Marino und Ana auf Qualität und Sauberkeit legen. Auch die Schlüsselübergabe lief völlig reibungslos und die Kommunikation mit den beiden war jederzeit perfekt – freundlich, schnell und unkompliziert. Die Lage ist traumhaft ruhig und perfekt zum Entspannen. Der Weg zum Strand ist eher etwas für sportliche Gäste – aber mit dem Auto, Roller oder Taxi ist man in wenigen Minuten unten am Wasser. Für uns war es die perfekte Kombination aus Aussicht, Ruhe und Nähe zum Zentrum. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und geben 5 von 5 Sternen in allen Kategorien – ganz klare Empfehlung.

Thanks to Igor and marija, We had spent wonderful 6 days here. Place is literally located in the beach . Having a huge terrace made everything much more relaxed . Totally recommended!

Wonderful stay in a quiet location. Perfect views and weather. Pool area had plenty of sun all day round. Hot tub shaded. Great communication with host and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
