Family-friendly holiday rentals in Loch Tay

Wallace Lodge was by far the most beautiful and peaceful of our entire trip. The house was the perfect mix of modern amenities with a rustic feel, everything from the private Loch to the sheep in the surrounding fields made our stay even that much better. Wallace was a most helpful and gracious host, from letting us check in s little early, to showing us how to work the appliances. The hot tub overlooking the private Loch was the icing on the cake for this amazing place. would definitely come back here for a vacation.

We had a great time here. The location was great for us (easy drives to Fort William, Glencoe, and Kinlochmore). The home is very clean and in a perfect location. We were able to walk to dinner one night, and we were able to visit great locations in all different direction from the home. Every drive is along water with beautiful scenery all around. On Day 1 we drove 30 min North, where we hiked to Steall Waterfall before having lunch in Fort William. Afternoon at Ben Nevis Distillery followed by a gondola ride at Nevis Range for some afternoon hiking. Day 2 we drove 15 min East to Grey Mare’s Tail waterfall, lunch in Kinlochleven, and an afternoon hike around Glencoe Lochan. Day 3, we drove 15 min East to the Three Sisters area, where we enjoyed our favorite hike of the trip, Hidden Valley. We also visited Skyfall Waterfall and explored Glen Etive. I will definitely stay here again the next time I’m lucky enough to visit Scotland. Mary is incredible and a great host! Beautiful home!

Secluded, peaceful, private property with a river at the bottom of the garden. Bright, airy, clean, well furnished accommodation. Loved the log burner. Very well attended clean hot tub. Owners were very attentive for any needs should they be required but not intrusive at all. The bedrooms were clean and well furnished with fully equipped bathrooms - upstairs and downstairs. Great towels provided. Plenty of space to have a quiet time inside or outside from the hot tub or seating area at the large table with chairs. Beautiful views of the river and fields through the French doors. Nice touch of freshly baked scones welcomed us on arrival. Unfortunately we could not spend much time enjoying the property over our 3 day stay due to our daughter’s wedding but we would definitely love to return again. A great property to spend time as a family with children as there is an outside play area for children and huge amount of board games and toys available in the house.

Fantastic place for a family get together. Plenty of space and great location. Linda was great to deal with and would highly recommend staying at Balnacraig. Second time there and hopefully not the last.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay in Maggies place. Cottage was exactly as described, hot tub was easy to use and absolutely amazing. A lovely and cosy little place perfect for a wee getaway. Local pub staff were also very friendly and food was yummy.

I absolutely loved this serene little guesthouse tucked away just outside of Edinburgh. It was very nice, clean, and functional for our family group. It was easy to navigate from there to surrounding areas by car. Ali was so personable and friendly! Truly a pleasure to stay here, and we would gladly stay again!

We had a really lovely stay at the cottage, and as others have said the games room is fabulous fun, the horses were a huge hit with our kids, and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub after a fun day out! Thank you again Helen and family for a super place to relax and have great fun. We really enjoyed our visit.

We loved the log cabin and the surrounding area. It was a beautiful location, surrounded by nature and the hot tub was a bonus. The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed. Our hosts were responsive and helpful if we needed anything. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Very convenient place to explore Perth and Kinross in all directions. All shops for the basics, and more than that,are in Aberfeldy. House is comfortable, spacy with character !

We had a great time here. This was a birthday surprise for my cousin 70th birthday who has problems with mobility. Wendy communicated with me putting flowers, banners and a balloon to surprise her which was great. It was easy for my cousin to get around the property and the garden. Definitely would come back. Beautiful property in a stunning setting.

The promise of the view was fabulous and we were not disappointed. If you are looking for a peaceful and secluded place, this is the place. It is not perfectly placed if you are looking for tourist places to visit but the place is enough for itself for a few nights and it is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the calm. The bedrooms and living rooms are very beautiful and well decorated. Thank you for providing a beautiful home like this.

Words cannot express the wonderful week we have had on Loch Katrine. Old Smiddy is ideally located for hiking the mountains, lochs and woodland and Carole has thought of all you need to make it feel like a home from home. Having our morning tea watching the Barn Swallows and House Martins catching their breakfast on the lake in the sunshine was very special. Aberfoyle has all you need for food and cute shops and fantastic Doone Hill walk from the town - Free Parking!!! A ferry trip on the Sir Walter Scott from the pier over to Trossachs Pier is a MUST and the Primrose Hill hike was stunning. The Pier Cafe is outstanding, definitely worth a treat and just a short walk away. Thank you Carole for sharing your amazing house, we will be back to enjoy the hot tub and sauna 🤞

The cottage was beautiful! Location is peaceful and private. Marianne's instructions to get to the cottage were very helpful and made it easier to find the cottages. The cottages were clean, neat and tidy giving us ample of space to use. The views from the cottage are spectacular even our kitten enjoyed the views! The location was perfect for us to drive around other places in the highlands and discover local areas. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back! Thank you Marianne for the wonderful stay. We had a great experience staying with Chris and Susan, and would highly recommend this to anyone in the area - head and shoulders above hotels at a similar price point. We stayed for 3 nights, looking for a base between Fort William and Glencoe for hiking. The cottage is very well located for what we had planned and was a welcome break from the string of damp and dingy hotels that we had stayed in beforehand. The place is very well equipped, with a smart TV in case the weather takes a turn and everything you could need for home cooking and lunch prep (which was a huge bonus for our hikes). If you are lucky with the weather, there’s even space to eat outside and enjoy the incredible views. The cottage was clean and well maintained and although we didn’t have any issues, Chris and Susan clearly care about ensuring everything meets their standards. If we ever come back to the Highlands, we will look to stay again!

We had an amazing time in Alyson’s cabin. Even though the weather wasn’t kind, the view from the cabin makes up for it. Watching the weather change and the wonderful rainbows-amazing. Luss is a quaint, popular little village. So lovely when all the coach trips go home and you can explore on your own . There are a few places to eat and drink in Luss, the Loch Lomond hotel was lovely. We had a great walk up Ben Dubh, which is just behind Luss and also visited Conic Hill for an easier hike. The village walks are really pleasant too. The cabin had everything needed for a short stay, it was clean and well equipped. We would definitely recommend.

We stayed here last year, and decided to come again this year. Still as beautiful, peaceful and secluded as last time! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay (despite the weather). The upkeep of the property has been maintained to a high standard, was very clean and easily accessible with clear instructions. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

This apartment was perfect for our family of 8. Great location with many restaurants in the area. Easy access to bus service for city center. Facilities had everything we needed. Perfect place.

A great getaway with loads to do close by for whatever mood you're in - great towns and cities like Calendar and Stirling less than half an hour away, equally beautiful countryside and multiple waterfalls, lochs and walks to choose from on the doorstep. Our toddler loved the on site swimming pool and the grown ups enjoyed the peaceful views from the hot tub too! Rosie was so friendly and accommodating.

This Airbnb exceeded our expectations! The location was breathtaking, with scenic views and easy access to local attractions. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and perfectly appointed. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway

Recently visited Pleasant Hill for Hen Weekend. We had previously been let down by another house and Chris was extremely helpful and reassuring. 17 of us stayed for the weekend and the house was perfect for what we needed it for. Chris was in constant contact with me, gave plenty of recommendations for local amenities and attractions and was flexible on check in and check out times. For such a large party, buying food was a concern of mines but he suggested we do an online shop beforehand and offered to collect it and put it away for us before we arrived. This really was a massive help and greatly appreciated, it was one less worry and concern I had in the run up to the weekend. Our bride and all guests had a fantastic weekend. Thank you!

This garden cottage was straight out of a romantic fairytale! The gorgeous garden surrounding the cottage and the view of the water and misty rolling hills framed perfectly by a stone wall and ivy were just breathtaking (especially while sitting in the wood fire heated hot tub). The cottage itself was incredibly cozy. We had nearly gotten stranded on Islay with car issues and we weren’t even sure we’d get to enjoy this stop on our holiday. By the time we arrived, we were completely exhausted from the chaos of the previous 24 hours so this relaxing and welcoming space was exactly what we needed to decompress. ☺️ The cottage was well equipped and very clean! We had everything we needed and then some. Caroline was an exceptional host. She was remarkably responsive and lovely to interact with both prior to our stay (when we weren’t sure we’d be able to make it) and during our stay! Anyone with the opportunity to stay here, should absolutely do it! Thank you for everything, Caroline!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, Douglas is an attentive host who was available when needed. The bungalow was equipped with everything we needed for cooking and resting which was much appreciated as our stay was over Christmas! Douglas very kindly gifted some wine and chocolates and he was there for our arrival to show us around the house, giving some useful information on nearby shops, places to eat and things to do. We were unfortunate with the weather; however, the bungalow was very cosy and thoughtfully decorated for Christmas and time spent inside looking out at the fabulous views made up for it!

Great host very friendly and nothing too much bother. Accommodation really good and comfortable everything you would possibly need is there. Had a lovely relaxing week thank you.
