Great base from which to explore Loch Coruisk, the Cuillins or Small Isles via boat trips. Good for birdwatching, wildlife or the Skye trail. Elgol harbour is a short walk down the hill. There is a kitchenette with fridge freezer, hotplate,microwave, toaster and kettle (no oven) in the accommodation. T.V only has Net-flix and DVDs, wi-fi is good.

the location is beautifull and exactly what we wished for. getting there is not so easy and will take some time with the roads leading there. Frances (the hostess) was super friendly and helpful with tips advice and support. thank you for the great stay. we where unlucky I think since the first night we stayed here there were a crazy amount of midgies. we did not return home unbitten;)

What a wonderful place! Such a beautiful and relaxing setting - with the bedroom and living room having picture windows over lochs, mountains and islands. The Bothan was perfectly laid out, with nothing missing and spotlessly clean. Log burning fire for a chilly evening with logs provided, and outdoor lounge chairs for when the sun sneaked out! We were even greeted with a basket of local treats. We would have loved to stay a month to soak in the peace! Thank you for having us, we hope to come again.

This was an amazing space. We had so much space to spread out. The big bay window was wonderful. The kitchen was organized and had everything we needed. The host left the kindest welcome for us there, too. I loved all the books in the house. We loved the art and kept finding something new to enjoy. The road to Elgol is long but so beautiful. I loved being farther afield actually. We spent a whole day exploring just the immediate area. Spar cave is literally steps away as well the most amazing beach.

Had a wonderful week at Heron's Rest, I cant' recommend it enough. The pod is perfect, exactly as described and pictured. So cosy and comfortable, especially when the wind was blowing outside! The views are outstanding and the beach really is seconds away. There were gorgeous local coast walks and both Malaig and Arisaig so easy to get to. I had a great day with Arisaig Sea Kayak Centre exploring the Arisaig skerries and I did see the herons, stags and the visiting woodpecker too from the pod. Colin and Elaine have created a lovely space there and couldn't have been more helpful. A place to cherish and return to.

One of our favorite airbnbs! We stopped here as part of a longer road trip and had ample space for both of us and our luggage. The kitchen had everything we needed and the living area was extremely comfortable. And, of course, we have to mention the natural lighting and gorgeous setting!

My friend and I stayed at Lena's shepherd's hut to explore the Isle of Skye. We had a great time. The location of the hut is lovely, we enjoyed the view and all the wildlife around us. Lena has equipped the hut with all the comforts and makes your stay easier with the folder with tips about the area. Highly recommended if you are looking for a unique location!
