Unique off grid cosy farm Bothy in the Highlands.

Jessica LeeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I loved this place! It was everything that I wanted. No wifi or power, but I had cell service, better than at other locations during my trip, so I felt connected. The nature surrounding the cottage was so gorgeous and peaceful. The wood-burning fireplace, the bathtub, all of it was perfect. Yes power for a fridge/freezer and the like would make it that much better. But the space and setup and cute battery-powered taper candles along with the fire just created a wonderful environment. I would have loved to stay longer. My last day I didn't leave the property bc I wanted to just be in it all. I walked around the property, read by the fire and enjoyed the place. I would go back in a heartbeat! If you can stay here, absolutely book it. It will refresh your soul and bring you peace. I cannot wait to go back and live it all over again!

The Anchorage, Kyleakin. Right on the Skye shore.

ShonaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Great location for this beautiful cottage right on the water with views to kyle of lochalsh, kyleakin to the skye bridge. Only a short walk in kyleakin to castle moil and some food places. Good place to stay to easily explore skye, plockton, applecross and glenelg from. It is well equipped inside with all you will need including a cosy wood burning stove if the weather is not kind. We got glorious sun except for one morning with thick haar when the boat horns were the loudest wake up call I've ever had. Views from every window with a lovely seating area by the window to enjoy regardless of the weather. If sunny the bbq was a great option to have in the garden. Fab wee seat by the water through the gate to sit watching the local rowing club, fishfarm boats, hebridean cruise ships and yachts passing by. We saw an otter fishing just off the garden, few seals and lots of heron's passing by on the wing so keep your eyes peeled.

iorram

ShikaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Thank you Colin and Megan for hosting us! Iorram is such a special place, and the most stunning AirBNB we’ve stayed at. The pictures don’t do it justice. We had a long day on the road, and arriving at the house, right at the water’s edge and in total peace and quiet, was amazing. Colin and Megan were wonderful hosts, accommodating our schedule, provided a helpful house manual, and were very responsive. We appreciated the welcome treats and the fire that was already built for us in the wood stove. I feel so lucky we had the chance to stay here!

The Bunker

LizRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We absolutely loved it I think this has made Lewis our new favourite island. I saw most of the marine life I was wanting to see from the balcony: seals and birds. The kitchen was great for cooking and eating in. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you for a wonderful stay x

Lodge with private hot tub.

ErenRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Ishbel and Angus were lovely hosts, providing a friendly welcome, showing us around the property and local tips of where to visit. Although close by the property still benefits from its own privacy with the hosts easily available if you need them. The property is beautifully finished, feeling almost brand new. The setup worked really well for our family of four. The open plan kitchen, dining and lounge looks out to the loch and connects the two fair sized bedrooms. The view is quite stunning, we couldn’t get enough of it, looking out through the windows, from the hot tub or on a stroll along the loch on the beach. We were lucky enough to see seals, dolphins, plenty of sea birds and some jellyfish on our stay. The location of the property is great. We made use of a couple of good long walks nearby, visited Corrieshalloch Gorge which is fun and drove to Ullapool a few times which has good local food and shops on offer. We would highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate in rebooking.

Dal na Mara: luxury home with stunning sea views

KarenRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Dal na Mara literally took my breath away. I'd seen all the photos, but the reality is ethereal! I literally spent the first day looking out the windows, listening to the wind, watching the sun move across the water, islands, and mountains. I will treasure my week of relaxation and being in the moment. The home is beautifully furnished, comfortable, and creates a wonderful home for the week. Helga has thought of everything as well as the directions. I ever closed the blinds because I wanted to see the view 24-7. Private, so I didn't feel exposed. The bed was a cloud. So many places to travel see the incomparable NW Highlands as well as Ullapool. BEST TRAVEL LOCATION AND ACCOMMODATION IN 35 YEARS!!

Waterfront cottage Applecross Peninsula

SusanRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Beautifully restored and renovated cottage overlooking a gorgeous inlet at Ardheslaig. Host had some really touches to the cottage and they had thought of everything you may need during your stay. Everything seemed very new. The cottage was further out than we expected and we felt the location descriptors indicating property location was confusing. The property is located at Ardheslaig. The road leading to the property is narrow, winding and one lane and we found the cottage difficult to locate as our sat nav and google maps did not work for the last few kms due to no reception. Hosts description of looking out for a Red Phone Box outside her cottage was our saviour. Once we got there, we had no problem navigating our way to and from the cottage for day trips. Best to bring food supplies as no shops just down the road. Host certainly provided adequate staples which was great. Absolutely gorgeous cottage with amazing water views..totally recommend. Host readily contactable.

The Hide - off-grid-ish woodland cabin near NC500

LotRating, 5 stars6 days ago
I loved The Hide! It feels very private and a bit hidden. Waking up to the view was great. The shower is outside but nice and warm and the composting toilet worked fine for us. Lucy was very kind and our dog very welcome (on the lead because of the sheep!)
