Family-friendly holiday rentals in La Mesa

Lydia was a very responsive host and was really easy to communicate with. We were a little skeptical because we knew we would be staying on the property where she lived with her family and were worried about privacy but the cabin is very private and although we naturally bumped into Lydia and her husband a few times, they did not spend any time out their back yard (where the cabin is located) for the duration of our stay so we had the place and the yard pretty much to ourselves which was great. We didn't realize how far away we would be from shops and restaurants. It is about a 20 minute walk to the nearby town so we did spend a lot of money on ubers but that was our own fault for not doing our research beforehand. Overall Lydias place is very clean and had everything we needed for our stay, she even had some stuff in the fridge and cleaning products which was really convenient. Thank you Lydia for a lovely stay.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Soulful Retreat at Cloud Mountain We had the most peaceful and restorative stay at this guest home in Jamul. My partner was recovering from a hospital stay, and this place offered everything we needed—quiet, nature, and healing energy. The guest house was spotless and cozy, with thoughtful touches. We did yoga on the deck, hiked among boulders, watched every sunrise and sunset, and soaked in the hot tub under the stars. The coastal breeze, birdsong, and privacy made it feel like a true escape. We loved connecting with the warm, welcoming hosts and their family as well as their sweet animal companions both cats and dogs—including a very friendly pig named Violet! We hardly heard a single car or plane during our stay. If you're looking to reconnect with nature, this is the place. We left feeling calm, refreshed, and recharged—and we’ve already planned our return to Cloud Mountain. No need to look any further—this place is something special!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The VIEWS!!! Absolutely breathtaking. We could’ve spent the entire trip just soaking in that ocean view—it was seriously next-level. From sunrise to sunset, it was pure magic. We absolutely loved Kate’s place and Kate herself! She was the best host we’ve ever had. The property was beautiful, peaceful, and had such a fun, quirky charm that made it feel like a hidden gem. The bed was insanely comfortable, the robes were perfectly cozy, and the coffee? Delicious. The art supplies and hot tub facing the ocean were truly to die for—I didn’t even want to leave to explore San Diego because I was so content right there. We slept with the back door open to hear the waves crash all night long and let the ocean breeze in. The neighborhood felt super safe and had such a great vibe. We already know we’ll be back to see Kate every year. No doubt about it.

The space was perfect for our family. Great sized full and clean kitchen even though we didn’t need to use it a lot. Lots of space for us and our 3 kids, and we appreciated the toys and baby high chair+pack n play! The kids really enjoyed the back yard space. We only saw the neighbors in passing so the space was basically all ours during that time. Hosts were very friendly! Location was close to everything we needed. No issues with the street parking. We would definitely stay again!

We loved our stay at Rachel’s place. The apartment is beautiful, light and spacious. A lovely central location in a sweet neighbourhood with lots of fab Italian restaurants on the doorstep. Important to note the parking is not onsite but was easy to find with clear instructions and only 5 mins walk from the apartment. We would come back if we visit San Diego again!

Anthony’s apartment was just what I needed for my adult son and me. 2 twin beds in the living room worked well as another bedroom without the cost of a 2 bedroom. The kitchen is small but had all we needed to make bfast in the mornings. Helpful to have a parking spot in back and washer dryer in unit. I really enjoyed the location next to an urban park, pretty neighborhood for walks, and short walk to restaurants and coffee shop. Anthony was super helpful when we arrived.

David is exactly what the reviews said about his responsiveness. My family and I can say this was our best experience ever in San Diego. We felt at home and this experience made it easy for my wife and I to conclude that when traveling with our young kids, we would be better off reserving an airbnb with a great host like David. Michelle and Robyn’s place was such a wonderful place to stay and experience, my husband wanted me to note that he wishes we can give 5 billion stars for the bed alone, the entire place was well maintained clean and so comfortable. This place was very conveniently located near downtown San Diego, Coronado island, La Jolla coves, Petco Park, Balboa Park, little Italy and the marina. The home was quiet and very private with amenities that were useful. We were so pleased with our stay and would love to visit again, if you are unsure and reading reviews please take this as your sign to book here! :)

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Airbnb! The location was stunning, with ocean views and the soothing sound of the waves—it was the perfect place to relax after a day out. There were several great restaurants within walking distance, and we loved being able to grab snacks from the nearby Oxxo, just a short 5-minute walk away. The host was very accommodating, allowing us an early check-in, which we really appreciated. Security at the front was helpful and friendly—they assigned us a parking space and made it easy to find the building. We did experience a couple of minor issues: the shower wasn’t draining properly, and on the third day, the door wouldn't lock. The host responded quickly to our messages, but unfortunately, no one showed up after we waited about an hour. However, the issue was resolved while we were out, so everything was fine when we returned. Despite those small hiccups, we had a lovely time and would definitely consider staying here again. The hosts were amazing! Our family had the best stay for 5 nights. Very beautiful home & community. We all felt at home & comfortable. If you're currently looking for a place to stay in the San Diego area and have kids, stop looking. This is the place to stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carrie's property. Kids Paradise was ideal for our young ones, and thanks to Carrie’s thoughtful preparations, we had everything we needed for a comfortable experience. This made it possible for our children to have a wonderful vacation, while also allowing us parents to relax. I highly recommend this accommodation for families with children of all ages. We look forward to the possibility of staying at one of her other properties in the future.

We had such an amazing week for our party of 7 family reunion!!! The house was exactly as described and so well stocked with amenities, most especially books, toys, and any children’s item you could think of for your young boys. Our family had tons of fun using the pool and hot tub, we definitely utilized the wide assortment pool/beach toys and floaties as well. We had a very good time with the special treasure hunt game which was amusement for all ages. Communication was top notch and the recommendations were much appreciated and spot on. We’re already planning our next vacation here again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

The apartment was so close to all the restaurants and easy to get to anywhere within around 15 minutes drive. Tina was an amazing host and on hand to answer any questions.

The apartment is, well appointed, spacious & complete with everything you could want. The gardens are beyond beautiful, with lots of interesting trees and shrubbery and even a walking trail around the whole property. The pool is lovely and child safe. We felt very safe, there was an entry code for the front gate and another for our unit. The whole house is located in a beautiful, upscale area.

Kimberly‘s unit was a great option for a local event. It was spacious, convenient and very well priced. The kitchen was well appointed and there were excellent restaurants nearby. They were very responsive and checked in frequently during our stay. We would definitely recommend and rent this unit again.
