Aurélie welcomed us very well. Very nice exchanges. Good tips for visits, restaurants and wines. A small wine bar that had just opened just opposite with a charming little patio where you can eat, very nice, a little extra in the setting!

LaRouyère is so idyllic it almost felt like a movie set — minus the boom mics and drama. The garden and pool were our private retreat; we dedicated two afternoons to pure laziness: sun, breeze, and zero responsibilities. The home is beautifully renovated (it includes a former wine cave!) and feels like the kind of place you'd happily get stranded. I cooked several meals in the well-equipped kitchen, we slept like the dead in the blissfully quiet bedroom, and the bathroom surprised us both — showers are usually utilitarian for me, but this one was hard to leave, and my husband was equally smitten with the tub. Stuart shared great tips, including the St. Chinian market, where I found heirloom tomatoes and carrots I’m still thinking about. Both hosts were generous, friendly, and struck that great balance of available-but-not-hovering. We left feeling rejuvenated — and already looking forward to a return.
