Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Highland Council

I cannot recommend Sally’s AirBnB highly enough. The location is superb, so peaceful with views out to the harbour from the private garden and the private parking was a god send. The house is spacious and has everything you need and Portree is a great base for exploring Skye and the Highlands and Islands. We stayed for 2 weeks and it was worth every penny! Sally is a great host, easy to get a hold of and sorts things out quickly.

Willie’s house is really perfect for a cosy time in very beautiful surroundings. the kitchen has everything you need in a well deigned space the woodburner is a lovely focal point in the evening. The heated bathroom floors were lovely and everything was clean and in order. i definitely hope to be back

We cannot say enough about Katie’s cottage! The setting, the cottage and location are perfect! Lovely, welcoming and just spectacular! With a castle ruins right behind you! If we ever make it back to Scotland, this is where you’ll find us!

Visiting to take part in the Isle of Mull Sportive, the Cabin was perfectly located and provided everything we needed for our stay - tranquil setting, good warm and cosy space, well-equipped kitchen, space for our bikes, bathroom that gave us the option of a long soak in the bath if needed after our ride (we didn't but the water was really nice and hot for our showers). Eugenie sent a very informative and helpful welcome pack ahead of our stay providing clear directions and lots of great recommendations - we couldn't get in to eat at Croft 3 but we did drop in for coffee and cake and would thoroughly recommend. Thanks to Tomo, Eugenie's partner, for the encouragement to eat at Am Birlinn on our last evening - lovely space and staff and the food was delicious! More thanks to Tomo - for equipping us with hose, bucket, joinery advice and his patience! :D

Fantastique! Cela résume notre séjour chez Elisabeth. Élisabeth est un hôte charmant. De nombreuses attentions nous attendaient. Elle a nous a donné de précieux conseils. La maison est belle, confortable, parfaitement équipée, au calme. En bord de loch entourée de prés, de végétation. Le cadre est enchanteur.

Thank you Colin and Megan for hosting us! Iorram is such a special place, and the most stunning AirBNB we’ve stayed at. The pictures don’t do it justice. We had a long day on the road, and arriving at the house, right at the water’s edge and in total peace and quiet, was amazing. Colin and Megan were wonderful hosts, accommodating our schedule, provided a helpful house manual, and were very responsive. We appreciated the welcome treats and the fire that was already built for us in the wood stove. I feel so lucky we had the chance to stay here!

Eine wunderschöne Unterkunft, die alle Herzen höher schlagen lässt. Ein traumhafter Ausblick lädt zum Verweilen ein. Vor allem wenn es draußen regnet und stürmt und man den Kamin an macht, ist es sehr gemütlich. Der Bunker ist außerdem mit allem sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir hatten leider nur kurze, aber dafür wunderschöne Tage auf der Isle of Harris. Vielen Dank!

Dal na Mara literally took my breath away. I'd seen all the photos, but the reality is ethereal! I literally spent the first day looking out the windows, listening to the wind, watching the sun move across the water, islands, and mountains. I will treasure my week of relaxation and being in the moment. The home is beautifully furnished, comfortable, and creates a wonderful home for the week. Helga has thought of everything as well as the directions. I ever closed the blinds because I wanted to see the view 24-7. Private, so I didn't feel exposed. The bed was a cloud. So many places to travel see the incomparable NW Highlands as well as Ullapool. BEST TRAVEL LOCATION AND ACCOMMODATION IN 35 YEARS!!

Perfect place and location for my 4 day stay. As a solo visitor I felt completely safe to walk around the area at any time. The cottage is very comfortable. Cheryl and her husband are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt bei Elizabeth! Elizabeth und ihr Mann sind äußerst freundliche Gastgeber. Sie haben uns tolle Tipps und Hinweise gegeben. Das Apartment ist unglaublich toll ausgestattet. Es hat wirklich an nichts gefehlt. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig und ist der ideale Ausgangspunkt für viele Ausflugsziele. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und idyllisch. Wir wären gerne noch länger geblieben. Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen! Nochmals vielen Dank für diesen tollen Aufenthalt!

Wir wurden von Janet sehr herzlich begrüßt. Sie zeigte uns die Wohnung und hatte und auf Ausflugsziele hingewiesen. Die Wohnung war sehr gut ausgestattet, uns hat nichts gefehlt. Über das frisch von ihr gebackene, sehr lecker Brot, Marmelade, Milch und Schokolade haben wir uns sehr gefreut. Leider waren wir nur drei Nächte dort. Ich hätte stundenlang aus dem Fenster schauen und das Wetter beobachten können. Ich kann die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen und würde jederzeit wieder mieten.

Much quieter than listing suggests. Don’t be put off by warning of noise, worst it gets is people walking above and washing machine. Lovely place, clean, tranquil with plenty of storage and well equipped

Very enjoyable stay. Surprisingly close to sea front and riverside yet very quiet location with always spaces to park nearby. Liked Thurso. Flat had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Warm and cosy.

Eine wirklich wunderschöne Unterkunft, sehr ruhig und landschaftlich schön gelegen. Alles ist sehr liebevoll und prima ausgestattet. Netter kleiner Balkon mit schöner Aussicht. Die Parkmöglichkeit direkt vor dem Haus war super; der Vorgarten ist wunderschön angelegt; ein himmlisches Bett - wir haben noch nirgends so gut geschlafen. Auch wir waren traurig, diese tolle Unterkunft nach 3 Nächten wieder verlassen zu müssen. Sehr sehr gerne würden wir wiederkommen, irgendwann.

We had a great stay at Elaines. It was in a perfect location and so easy to walk everywhere, plus she has a parking pass that we used.

Andrew’s place was a perfect base for a few days of hiking. It is a short walk to the train and bus, and there is a small grocery store even closer. The place was clean and had a nice modern kitchen. After our days of walking in the highlands, we appreciated showers or baths with lots of pressure and hot water. The idea of paying for the heat you use makes some sense too.

Eine super Wohnung, es war außergewöhnlich sauber und viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, Marie war die netteste Vermieterin die wir auf diesem Road Trip hatten, sehr herzlich und super lieb! Leider waren wir nur für eine Nacht da, da wir weiter mussten. Wir würden immer wieder dort übernachten!

Tanto Linda como George fueron excelentes anfitriones. Amables, bien predispuestos, en fin: excelentes. En cuanto a la propiedad es muy cómoda y agradable que aporta muchísima paz a quienes allí se hospedan. Sin dudas volvería a visitarlos!

This place was just like the description. The location is very walkable, but out of the busy tourist center so it’s very quiet. Everything I needed was provided, which made the stay very easy. I would stay here again if I visit Inverness again.

We had such an amazing stay! We felt like it was a home away from home. The hosts had thought of everything, even binoculars to look at the amazing views! Everything for our stay was explained very well and the hosts gave us recommendations of things to do locally. We even booked a falconry experience based on the leaflets that were left. Thankyou to you both for a perfect stay. We were sad to leave today.

We had a great and quiet time there. We used the location to travel to John O’ Groats and Isle of Skye

One of the most, (if not the most), beautifully located places we’ve ever stayed. The house was spotless and well-equipped with amenities. Rosie was a brilliant host and quick to respond whenever we needed anything. I'm so glad we decided here rather than staying in the town, which we were at first considering. Can't recommend this place enough!
