5 Stars – A Perfect Stay at The Guest House! We had such a wonderful time at The Guest House in Port Alberni! The location was perfect—central enough that we could easily make day trips to both Tofino and Courtenay without feeling rushed. The owner, Janis, was absolutely lovely—warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the town and surrounding area. She was readily available whenever we had questions and made us feel right at home. The house itself was spotless and well-equipped with everything you might need during your stay. The beds were extremely comfortable—exactly what you hope for after a long day of exploring Vancouver Island. And the property? Simply stunning. The lake is so clean you can see right to the bottom—perfect for a peaceful paddle or just soaking in the view with your morning coffee. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Melissa is just a wonderful person and host! I would recommend staying with her in a heartbeat. Communication was great, she always responded quickly and tried to help whenever she could (which was much appreciated as we had some trouble with our rental car..). The location is nice and quiet and good for exploring Vancouver Island. The cabin was everything we hoped for - immaculate and well equipped (including some delicious eggs from her chickens in the fridge 🤗). Thank you for a wonderful time, Melissa!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Kim and Shawn’s place! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at home. The space was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had all the thoughtful touches that made our stay extra comfortable. Kim and Shawn were fantastic hosts—friendly, responsive, and respectful of our privacy, yet always available if we needed anything. The location was perfect- peaceful and scenic, yet conveniently close to everything we wanted to explore. We especially appreciated the little details they provided, like local recommendations and the well-stocked amenities. You can really tell they care about their guests’ experience.
