Monthly Rentals in Hellurnar

It was a great time on Faroes. In the middle of the value, surrounded by mountains, sheeps and peace. Sweet house with all the equipment you may need. We drove to the very end with our toyota crossover, and during the rain it was slightly fun to climb up, but doable. Not sure if a small car can manage this. Big thanks to Lis for arranging our stay!

A very nice and large apartment, with a very nice view, in a superb environment. Two supermarkets nearby which is very convenient. We'll be happy to go back. Easy communication with Alvur. The lockbox allows for easy check-in.

Our stay here was a true highlight of our trip. The fairytale village of Elduvík is in a stunning location, and Aksel’s cottage occupies a prime position at the edge of it with breathtaking views of the ocean and the sheer rocky flank of neighboring Kalsoy island. You are located right at the start of a flat path leading to a gorge where we enjoyed cold plunges and watched a seal which Aksel told us loves to be sung to! Elduvik is the perfect base for day trips and even hikes that start right from the village. The cottage itself was more spacious than I expected. The high ceilings with exposed birch bark were beautiful. One of us slept in the loft which was quite comfy! I appreciated the outlet and lamp right at the head of the bed. The kitchen is tiny, but we cooked several successful meals and Aksel generously lent us some cooking oil from his house next door. He also gave us some delicious Faroese salmon he had smoked himself. Book the cottage and stay as long as you possibly can.

Photos cannot do this beautiful house justice. The interior is stunningly decorated with a kitchen most homeowners would die for. A lovely welcome of freshly baked walnut bread and rhubarbjam and we were sold! Oh and not to mention the stunning views from every window. We were overly excited to discover we could see the James Bond lighthouse and it was a pastime in itself watching the clouds change shape. Elduvík is a lovely village to base yourself - lots of beautiful walks either up the valley or along the coast. We managed to not do the same walk twice. We slept late, waking to the church bells and read lots. No amenities so bring them in with you but Elsa’s kitchen means you can prepare beautiful meals with no problem. Thank you so much Elsa for sharing your home with us for a couple of days. A stunning place to relax and recharge.
