Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Gouldsboro

Great hosts! The house was exactly as described and offered a peaceful getaway. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

Sydney’s house was perfect for our family! It was clean, with beautiful views on a quiet, private street. The house had plenty of toiletries, we didn’t need to buy any household items while there. The hot tub was clean and perfect for a breezy afternoon looking out at the water. Sydney was a great host, providing tons of recommendations on places to dine and sites to see. Perfect location to visit both the Schoodic Peninsula and Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor! Would love to stay here again.

We were looking for a peaceful place to stay for a few days on the Maine Coast this fall. This home was perfect. We were very comfortable from the minute we arrived. We especially enjoyed the deer and turkeys in the back yard every day. If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay near a working harbor and a short drive to the Schoodic area of Acadia this is a near perfect home.

Beautiful place with everything you need for a low key getaway. Not a bad drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia but with better peace and quiet in the mornings and evenings! Definitely would recommend

If you’re looking for a remote landing spot as you explore Maine, this will be perfect for you. We enjoyed the peaceful ambiance, especially the hot tub, after day tripping to other places. Highly recommend you 1) visit the Hannaford grocery store in Ellsworth before you get to the house, 2) research the surrounding area for any meals out, and 3) for sure go to Acadia National Park. Watch out for deer if you return to the house after dusk.

The unit is in the woods, very quite, 10-15min drive to Bar Harbor and get in to Acadia. In May there is a lot of bugs outside but very clean and nice inside the rooms. The host is very responsive.

We had a beautiful stay at Rebekah's for our annual Memorial Day reunion trip. The views are gorgeous, and the house was charming. The beds were super comfortable, and we slept soundly. We drove over to Acadia most days, which is about an hour away, but the drive is lovely, and we appreciated the bit of distance from the bustle of Bar Harbor and the privacy staying on the Schoodic gave us. We also could easily check out the Schoodic part of the park, Sullivan, Corea, and Petit Manon where we took birding tours, lobster boats, and oyster farm visits. We like to do a bit of cooking to keep costs down on our trips, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Rebekah's guest handbook was great with lots of recommendations. She was responsive and eager to help however we needed. We had a wonderful time!

We had a great time here. Loved being near the quieter side of Acadia national park. The small coastal towns are so cute and quiet. The drive over to the main part of Acadia/ Bar Harbor was very doable, we did it two days in a row. I would keep in mind that things start closing in October and google isn’t always reliable when saying what is or isn’t open. Loved our stay and highly recommend!

Very nice little apartment in a quiet and woodsy neighborhood in Southwest Harbor, a very short drive from plenty of restaurants and so forth, and also convenient for exploring the rest of MDI. The apartment was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable, and Caroline was responsive and very friendly, as were the rest of her family. Would definitely stay there again.

We felt right at home at the Open Hearth Inn. Arthur and his team were very friendly and helpful. The inn is stocked with everything you need to enjoy your stay, including snacks and treats for both humans and pups. We enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub when we weren’t hiking in Acadia. Definitely a great experience!

Great place to stay for a few days and explore the area! The space was beautiful and cozy.

We really enjoyed our stay at April’s private river retreat house. The apartment was very clean with lots of amenities. The travel toiletries were a nice surprise. We were about a 30 minute drive from Bar Harbor but it took close to an hour to get to some trailheads in Acadia NP. The weather got hot during our stay and April had her husband come to put the window AC in for us which was appreciated. Our only complaint was slow response time from the host during our stay and difficulty finding the driveway upon initial arrival. Google maps said the house was 3 doors closer on the road than it actually was. We would love to come back in the future!

A quiet bungalow away from the tourist dense center of Bar Harbor and easily accessible to great food, hikes, and the park. The kitchen was well stocked and the whole place was thoughtfully decorated and appealing to all of us!

Beautiful spot and view from the hot tub and dock. Cute little living space and we loved the welcome/ informational guide provided as well as the home made cookies ready for us on arrival. Would stay again!

Renee's place was great for rest and recovery between hikes at Acadia. Had everything we needed to prepare our own food, and located close to shopping. We had a great time and would definitely stay again next time we explore Acadia!

We had a wonderful stay at Barb’s place! The location is beautiful and the home is cozy, clean, and well appointed! Barb was very communicative, pleasant, and friendly. The house had everything you could ask for and then some! We look forward to booking here again.

First ever air bnb stay and it’ll be hard to beat! Great views (even got to see some ball lightening in the distance) very dog friendly, the hot tub was awesome! Super cozy place, will definitely be back!

Amazing relaxing stay! Beach is a short walk. Everything you needed to enjoy your stay was there even cream for the coffee!

Our stay at Dave's lakefront cabin was exactly what we'd hoped for, and then some. This isn't just a rental; it feels like a genuinely preserved piece of Maine – authentic and full of character. Being right on the lake was the absolute highlight. The views are truly epic, offering stunning sunrises and peaceful evenings that we savored from the deck and the dock. It was the perfect backdrop for morning coffee and winding down after exploring. Dave is an exceptional host. He was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful, making sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. You can tell he cares deeply about this place and his guests. The cabin is filled with thoughtful touches that are one-of-a-kind, from the cozy throws to the unique decor that tells a story, making it feel less like a temporary stay and more like a cherished home.

Great stay at Bethany’s cabin! Felt right at home for a party of three. The house came stocked with everything we needed, and there’s plenty of options for food/coffee/activities nearby (go to the Cove for a perfect sunset). It’s roughly 20min by car for going downtown. Excellent hosts, very communicative and I’d definitely recommend for anyone heading to the area!

Megan’s home is beautiful and welcoming. It’s ideally located on the quieter side of the island. She’s a wonderful and knowledgeable host. We would stay here again without hesitation. Charming, spacious and comfortable.

Old school cabin vibes! Loved this place and we will be back to spend much longer than our short 2 days. I loved having a fire going after a day in the woods and hopping into a cozy bed. It was too cold for us to go swimming- but their were canoes, kayaks, row boats and other water crafts to choose from. Beautiful and rustic. Clean and comfortable. Also we left something behind and they shipped it the next day . Thank you!

What an incredible stay we had! Bills place is incredibly charming right on a beautiful lake. It is an ideal location if you are visiting Acadia National Park. Bill was also super responsive, even checking to make sure we found the place ok when he knew we would be arriving. We will definitely be back for another stay in the future!
