We booked the pool house for our anniversary and it was wonderful. The house, pool, sauna, hot tub, gardens, everything was perfect. The hosts have set an amazing experience with lots of little touches that make it even better, like homemade jam and a selection of herbs. We also explored the region a little and the local restaurants and sights are not to be missed. Thank you for a great experience!

We enjoyed our weekend at Walnut Hill! The grounds are beautiful, and the home has what you need. Garden of the gods is about ten minutes away!

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful weekend celebrating his birthday at Amy’s place! It was so cute and cozy and she made us feel right at home. Everything, including the dock and kayaks were super accessible. It was perfectly clean and welcoming and I would 100% recommend to anyone wanting a classic Midwest getaway!

Our stay at Elizabeth’s place was great. The house was spacious, clean, and had beautiful scenery outside. What really made the stay better was that upon having car trouble and having a hard time being able to get it taken care of due to it being the weekend, Elizabeth was very accommodating and responsive. I strongly recommend this place and Elizabeth to other prospective renters.

Inviting! Cute! Accommodating! Spotless! Husband, two puggles, and I visited for a long weekend, and we actually stayed an extra day because we loved it so much. Each morning we enjoyed our coffee on the deck. We spent the day hiking, visiting Ferne Clyffe, Bell Smith Springs, and Giant City. Lake access was just what we needed after a day of hiking. We jumped in the water from the dock, took out the paddle boat, and fished. Yes, the lake access is shared with host's other properties, but not only is everyone there to also chill, but we actually didn't overlap with anyone. In the evenings we sat on the deck again, sipping the local wines and observing nature. The deck sparkled with fairy lights. Hosts are so kind and friendly! A few "clutch" items: the silicon wine glasses for the lake; washer/dryer & detergent; firewood & firestarter; gas grill; coffee! Bluetooth speaker. The hosts thought of everything & are phenomenal. Thank you so much for an awesome getaway--we'll be back!

My family and I had a wonderful time at the Mansion! Tony and his wife were very attentive to our needs and we were very comfortable during our stay. The mansion and interior decor are fascinating and create a unique and timeless environment; I really felt I had gone back in time many decades; this was such a welcome respite from my life in California. We will certainly always try and book the Mansion for our annual trips to Southern Illinois. I highly recommend the property.

Our family really enjoyed staying here. It was a beautiful short walk (lots of stairs!) down to the dock and had lots of stuff to take out and play on the water in! The kids loved taking the canoe out with us and had a blast on the kayaks! We got to meet Kris and she was wonderful and sweet! Highly recommend this place! If you love dogs like we do, ask to meet Colby Jack! We fell in LOVE!

I decided last minute to see the 2024 eclipse in 100% totality. I drove all the way from Colorado to Marion, IL. All hotels were booked & really expensive. Then I saw Cassie's camping spot. I'm a solo female traveler with a dog & not much of a Camper so I was a little nervous, but this location was so easy to find, and felt very safe. Cassie even provided hotdogs and marshmallows for everyone. This was the perfect location to see the 2024 eclipse in 100% totality. I'll remember this always!

We stayed at Cassi’s for the 2024 eclipse. The location was so peaceful. We brought our 32’ camper and she said “go anywhere in the back” so we set up in view of the pond. There were 8 others guests in tents. They were all so friendly. The kids loved playing with the dogs and kept talking about Aero and Zep all day after left. (I just realized that those dogs are probably named after Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin) Next time there’s an eclipse that cuts across Cassi’s yard you should definitely stay here! Or if you just want a nice place that’s not far from home.
