Family-friendly holiday rentals in Garrett County

This place was very nice. We liked the location. I will hit the highlights first: 1. Very nice rental property at the quiet end of the lake. 2. It was a mix of rustic outside and modern inside. 3. Very clean and comfortable on the inside, aside from a few spider webs (no big deal). 4. The hot tub was great 5. The staff were very responsive 6. Wood burning fireplace was great. Now the lowlights: 1. Driveway up to the property will make your toes curl the first time, but then you get used to it. 2. Lots of steps from the driveway up to the kitchen. 3. The dock is NOT convenient and you likely will not use it. Walking down to the dock is NOT horribly difficult (15 mins) downhill. However, the walk back was a challenge. 4. If you like to be cool when you sleep, pick the downstairs bedrooms. 5. The upstairs bedroom does NOT get cool, at all. 6. No real view of the lake from the house, maybe in the Fall? We will come back to DCL, however we will rent a lakefront property next time.

Beautiful and very clean. The furniture and beds were comfortable. The host responded to questions very timely. 2 minor suggestions for future guests. The fire pit could be updated so that chairs are are on a flat surface. The bathrooms could use more hooks or towels racks. I would choose this home again, and highly recommend to others.

Beautiful place! Went on a girls trip and it fit exactly what we needed, cozy, nice views and relaxing. Only things I feel the need to make people aware of are that the hot tub is off the side of the house and you have to walk over gravel to get to it so bring flip flops, and that there are a TON of bugs in the house, we had ladybugs and stink bugs all over, fine for us but if it’s not something you can handle then bring traps. Overall amazing trip!

Went for a guys trip to kick off summer and we loved the house and location. Beautiful neighborhood right on the water. The free par 3 course in the neighborhood is perfect if you like golf but don't necessarily have time in the trip for a full 18. Yardages range from roughly 60 yards to 180. Closest hole to walk onto is #5. Dock slip, hot tub and fire pit makes it easy to spend a lot of time outside but if you have poor weather, the house also has pool table and shuffle board. Would highly recommend!

We had an awesome stay at Big Timber! We traveled with two families, including 5 kids - between the arcade, mini golf, fire pit and board games, our time passed so quickly and a great time was had! The place has a great authentic cabin feel, and it’s even better than the photos! Rick was easy to communicate with, and was always responsive. We will definitely try to return in the future!

La Bella Vita was the perfect getaway for our girls weekend! The home is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views of the lake from nearly every room. Each space was thoughtfully furnished and felt cozy yet spacious, making it easy for our group to relax and enjoy every moment. The deck was one of our favorite spots—we started each morning with coffee and a gorgeous lake view. The kitchen and grill setup had everything we needed for meals at home, and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out comfortably. The location was ideal, close to everything we needed and all the spots we planned to visit. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better stay and are already hoping to make the trip back soon!

From the moment we stepped in, we were impressed by the thoughtfully designed interiors that radiated both warmth and elegance. The property truly exceeded our expectations. The spacious layout provided plenty of room for everyone to relax, while the play options for the kids were an absolute delight—they had such a great time! The well-appointed kitchen, with its clean and modern utilities, made cooking feel like a treat. Every detail was clearly curated with care and attention, creating an environment that felt inviting and luxurious at the same time. It added so much joy to our trip, and we’ll always treasure the memories we made here. We hope to return someday!

Dan was absolutely wonderful, they were so friendly and kind and always made sure we were okay and had supplies, I can’t say enough about these wonderful people and will 12/10 recommendation this place to everyone I know!

This is our second year staying here, and everything was perfect as always. Dan was very quick and helpful to respond to any questions that I had prior to our arrival. And, the maintenance staff was very helpful and friendly for our needs during our stay. We will definitely be back. Thank you very much.

My fiancé and I stayed here with our 3 dogs on a trip to hiking some of the best sights in eastern WV. This place is a true treat and I hope is around for many many years to come. We’d love to come back in the summer and enjoy some of the many swimming holes along the creek. We had a slight issue in the beginning but Michael was responsive quickly and worked to quickly resolve. Abrams creek is a perfect little hole in the wall, truly private and secluded place.

We loved this tiny home. It was perfect for our family of 4 plus 2 dogs. It’s a 5 min drive to wisp ski resort so makes quick trips back and forth very easy. This little cabin is tucked up a private road into the woods and we love the charm that the owners and crew who work on the property have instilled into the houses with the use of eco friendly and reused items. There’s a nice little trail at the back also where we walked with the dogs and even saw a quiet porcupine! We’d love to come back in the fall and next winter of course for more ski time. Dan’s place was well kept! A good option for camping with some amenities. Bathrooms were very clean. We just happened to visiting on a very cold weekend and thought there would be more heating options. There is a little propane space heater that helped and the warm water bottles to put under the covers helps on a cold night as well.

I just wanted to share my thoughts on the eco-friendly tiny cabin we stayed at in McHenry, Maryland. First off, it was super cozy and had all the comforts of home—perfect for relaxing. We loved the peaceful surroundings, and it was great to have a pet-friendly place where our furry friend could join us. If you’re considering a getaway, I highly recommend this spot for a tranquil retreat!

We celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary here and loved it! The trails around the cabin were perfect for us to walk in the morning with our dog. The cabin itself was very clean and comfortable. The location was really nice and relatively close to everything we wanted to do!

Everything was phenomenal. Plenty of space to maneuver and have gatherings with loved ones.

The experience was seamless and relaxing. The response time was impeccable. Highly recommend. My family enjoyed every second. Only drawback, we were a party of 7, the house holds a small water heater. After a few showers and washing, the hot water was cold, then needing to wait until the tank filled for hot water. This wasn’t even close to a deal breaker. We will be back many times over.

Rv’s place was very nice, clean, cozy & spacious for family and friends. I’ll surely Recommend this place to anyone that’ll be headed in that location for a vacation.

This house was wonderful for two families with two kids. It had three separate hangout areas - a lofted area upstairs for the kids, a nice big great room on the main floor open to the kitchen and dining area and a fun game room downstairs. It felt bigger than the pictures made it look, and it seems they've improved things since some of the less-than-perfect previous reviews. We had a great time and had everything we needed, including plenty of cookware options in the kitchen. Of note: - none of the TVs were smart TVs, so bring a roku or fire stick if that's something you want. - the driveway is long and steep (uphill to get in). If you're coming in the winter don't ignore the posted suggestion that you'll need 4WD. - the house was nice and clean, indoors and out. Also came with great check-in instructions and communication throughout. - I usually cringe when my AirBnB turns out to be managed by a vacation rental company, but we had a great experience with these folks. Thx!

I had a wonderful weekend at Al's place. The cabin was perfect for my peaceful time in Frostburg and surrounding areas. The hosts were informative and provided areas to see the sunset and sunrises. It was too cold to use the pool but the offer was there. I will be back.

Great host, the house is beautiful inside and out. All guest enjoyed themselves and are already plans to go back in a few months.

This cabin is beautiful and was perfect for our family weekend getaway. Very clean and great location. Wisp is less than five minutes away!
