Family-friendly holiday rentals in Fredericksburg

The place was everything we had hoped for and then some. Everything was so well thought out, tidy, and well-appointed. Fantastic entertaining areas with tons of seating. Quiet, private and gated. It really felt like home. There were a few household items we forgot to bring, but they were already there. There is also covered parking! Easy river access - stone steps even the little kids could easily navigate and no crowds to hassle with. There was a stone patio with a table and chairs by the water's edge and the expansive area along the riverbank is gorgeous. We had 8 kids from infant to pre-teen and all had a blast - swimming, bicycling, hot tubbing, playing pool and yard games. Plenty of room for our large vehicles and UTV trailer. Owners are very helpful and are ready answer questions or address any issues immediately. Definitely a return trip in our future!

The love shack was perfect for a weekend away! We grilled, enjoyed the hot tub, relaxed by the fire ring and on the back porch with gorgeous views. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed, from fire wood for the fire ring to k cups for the coffee pot, and lots of clean towels. We came down for a motorcycle rally, and scenic rides, but this was such a perfect little cabin, that we will absolutely be back. The host was thorough with the instructions, and super friendly and helpful with any questions we had. We were secluded but not too far from grocery stores or restaurants, they were just a little drive away. The bed was SO comfortable too, we both slept great! We had a wonderful time here at the love shack, and can’t wait to come back.

We had such a great time! I lived in Germany for a short bit many years ago and this sweet cozy house reminded me of the experience. It was fun to look around at all the decor from Germany. It was nice and quiet, and just a short uber ride from town. We loved the surprise German pastries put in our room and appreciated the bottled water that we forgot to bring with us! Thank you for being such a lovely host. We’d totally visit again.

It started out a bit rough with A/C issues, but they were extremely quick to be helpful and make things right. They continued to communicate next steps. Great location, very clean, enough room and would definitely stay there again. The outside area is perfect for this time of year! Everyone had a great time.

Travis was an exceptional host. He was quick to communicate if anything was needed and offered multiple amenities. The space itself is very private, great for photos especially around the lake, it's just you and nature. If the weather wasn't so cold we definitely would've hit the water. Hadn't ever heard of spicewood before, but would come again! Thank you again Travis!

Great communication, location within steps to the brewery, lots of activities

This stay was exactly what my husband I needed! I just sat outside and listened to the birds early in the morning, something I also love doing at home. I could've sat outside all day if it wasn't Texas in June! ha! The cabin itself was just as described. The photos do make it seem a bit bigger but honestly, you don't need bigger for 2 people. We went to Canyon to just spend time on the water. After over doing it the first day, we instead, chose to spend our second full day just enjoying the cabin. We had some hot tub time in the afternoon, played board games for a couple of hours, and just rested! For anyone worried about how close the cabin is to the main house, don't worry! It's positioned for privacy! It was so stinking relaxing and I can't wait to go back.

Our stay at this incredible lake house in Canyon Lake was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the panoramic views of the water, the peaceful surroundings, and the thoughtfully designed home. The house itself is beautifully maintained, with a perfect mix of modern comfort and rustic charm. Spacious bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and cozy common areas made it easy for our whole group to relax and enjoy our time together. The large deck overlooking the lake quickly became our favorite spot — ideal for morning coffee, afternoon lounging, and sunset dinners. One of the standout features was private lake access. We loved being able to swim, kayak, and paddleboard right from the backyard. Evenings were spent in the hot tub under the stars — truly unforgettable. The location is perfect: secluded enough to feel like a true escape, yet close enough to town for groceries.

John and Suzanne, Thank you so much for the lovely stay at your 2 bedroom cabin. It was absolutely perfect for our quiet weekend away. We especially appreciated how close it was to Perdenales Falls State Park and that you allow pets – that was a big bonus for us! Our girls’ trip at the Taylor Swift Hideaway was absolutely charming and so adorable! The TS Hideaway was cute and quaint. The attention to detail with the decor was very detailed for Swifty lovers or fans! Everything was clean and well-maintained, making it a delightful home base for our weekend. Kathryn, our hostess went above and beyond, eagerly ensuring our stay was welcoming with thoughtful touches like bracelet making, candy, and several messages to check in on us to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay. Highly recommend this gem for a fun and relaxing getaway! You won’t find another AIrBnB like this one!!

This is a wonderful ranch like get a way and it was just what we were looking to find. We are so tired of motels/hotels, crowded towns and streets. It is nice to just get out away from it all and enjoy the peace and quiet of the country. Birds, a deer, a turkey, and some wildflowers thrown in just added to the enjoyment . Resting on the patios in the evening looking at a dark sky full of stars was very relaxing. It is hard to describe the tranquility of the evenings we spent. It was an unexpected treat. So many sites close by to visit and see if you are inclined to do so. It was also nice that we were out away from it all and yet within a short distance of food, groceries and other amenities. Janet is the hostess with the Mostess. She was on top of everything! Super communications, super accommodations, and friends advice to help make our stay so enjoyable. OH, and sweet treats on our arrival that were very special! Thank you Janet!

Perfect spot to hang around and walk to town, restaurants, and live music or to chill by the river. It’s a straight shot to San Antonio and many other local tourist towns, which made it a great location as well. We had a great time and would love to come back!

We absolutely loved our stay at Maria’s place, everything was perfect and the hosts couldn’t have been more helpful and always available for queries. The view is outstanding, the cabin is beautiful, clean, cosy, and beds / linen so clean and comfortable. We even had wildlife 🦌 approach the cabin ❤️ Will certainly be back x Only thing (outwith Maria’s control) to note is that we did struggle to get Ubers to the square, we all just squeezed in 1 car and I drove, not a big issue but just if you want to be in and out of the square / town.

Silvio’s place was really awesome! We were visiting for a BMT graduation & being able to stay around the lake & make the ~1 hour commute to Lackland was worth it. The lake has lots to do around it & landscape is breathtaking. Silvio gave us a huge, detailed list of recommendations as well, which we were really thankful for! Very clean & felt right at home. Check-in was super easy. This spot is convenient if you are interested in both San Antonio & Austin, as it is a perfect halfway point between the two. Also, the beds were SO comfortable! If we return to this area of Texas again, we will definitely be booking Silvio’s place!

Awesome place for a getaway! Only 10 minutes from downtown Fredericksburg, so it’s far enough to feel like you’re away from town and in your own place, and close enough to be near the excitement when you want it. The house is super cute, well-put together, and the land it’s on is beautiful. All-in-all it’s an amazing place. I’d highly recommend staying here, and the hosts are very friendly!

We had a lovely stay at the property. Easy to get to and pleasant setup in the villas. We enjoyed the pool and a little hike as well nearby. Came with our baby and it was a great family friendly setup.

John & Sherri were very responsive when i had any questions, and are just down to earth people.

We loved the location of this condo. Perfect for our small children. It was close to lots of our favorites. Jimmy was very quick to respond. We will definitely come back to this location.

We had an amazing time at this house in Kerrville. The photographs of this house just don’t do it justice - It’s even better in person. The location is 10 minutes max from town and has the most lovely views from the backyard. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals from scratch- probably the best equipped kitchen we’ve ever had in a vacation rental. The beds are very comfortable. The living space was roomy and had such interesting artwork. The back porch was a delight to sit out on any time of day. The pool was a little chilly the weekend we were there but that’s just because a big storm system had gone through the night before. We still had a fun afternoon in the pool. If you are not there in the height of summer and want to swim, you might want to consider paying to heat the pool- but remember that you need to do that in advance. We would highly recommend this rental home and hope to return.

Visited this place with a big family. It was a great place that fit all of us while enjoying all the play areas and pool. I would 100% recommend.

Loved the condo! It was a perfect place to stay with our adult children. We loved playing board games on the large outdoor patio each night. It was a great location to walk to the cute restaurants and shops. The place was extremely clean with fresh linens and very comfortable beds. We were extremely satisfied with all the amenities our host provided. We didn't spend much time in the condo over the week because there was so much to do around town but the time that was spent together there was very peaceful and relaxing. We would definitely want to stay here again and would recommend this place and our very attentive host, Gina, to other guests. Thank you!

Love this place! So peaceful and quiet. My kids loved the pool. The house was perfect. Close enough to town, clean, really big, everything you could need, and the cookies were delicious!
