The city of Manadas is very pretty and central to all attractions. The parking was very convenient, several people park in the narrow streets and I would never have dared to do the same. Manadas, like most cities in São Jorge, is not a pedestrian city. There are no sidewalks or shoulders, and it must be said that the steep slopes can slow down our ardor. We walked to the church and it was quite a workout. You have to take the car to go to the market, but that's the case in all the cities on the island anyway. The accommodation was well located, quiet, and was very comfortable. Antonio was very responsive and accommodating and provided a lot of useful information about the festivities and the opening of supermarkets during the holidays.

The house exactly matches the description and photos. Very well located just a few minutes' walk from the Lagoa in front. In my case, I also traveled for the waves, and we are a short distance from both sides where you can surf. As for the transport of the 4-wheel motorcycle that is necessary to get to the house, Susete also quickly took care of this service through Mr. Luís, who, despite my heavy load (bag with 2 boards + travel suitcase, + 2 supermarket bags (almost 30 kg), easily found a way to transport everything safely and very quickly. Finally, still on Mr. Luís, I also highlight your Nordic punctuality. On both motorcycle trips 4 (arrival and return) I was already on site before the scheduled time. One last note: Since there are no supermarkets in the vicinity of the house and on the way from the airport to there you will only find a few grocery stores, I suggest you go to Almeida and Azevedo, in Velas.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay at Antonio's place. The perfect mix of modern amenities and old farm style charm. We were spoilt with local specialities and felt warmly welcomed and right at home. We enjoyed staying in this small beautiful quiet village and explored the rest of the island from this special homebase. Just magical. Highly recommend it.

We loved our stay. Faja dos Cubres is one of the most beautiful and atmospheric locations on the island and to stay there, rather than just visiting for an hour or 2 is special. Also the restoration job the owners had done on on the property was very pleasing. And the owners were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
