Monthly Rentals in Elphinstone

My husband and I decided last minute we needed to get away and booked for the weekend, It was awesome!! This was the second time we stayed here our first being winter which was also awesome!! It was beautiful then but summer was so beautiful in its own ways as well. We saw lots of wildlife in the area. The weather was rainy but we still enjoyed it very much and had lots to do!! We drove through Riding Mountain National Park and got to see lots of Bison and Bears there. Saw two mammas with their cubs which was incredible to see, so cute. Went fishing a couple minutes from the cabin and caught quite a number of fish. We visited clear lake and walked around there as its not too far a drive. I love the fact that we can stay at the cabin and just relax in the peace and quiet or we can go for a short drive or walk and adventure around! The cabin is so beautiful, Ian & Lorna have done an amazing job with it and you can tell they truly care! Will be coming back for sure!

Well appointed, well renovated, and an absolutely adorable and clean cottage. A beautiful, quiet area to enjoy some R & R. Will hopefully stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at Jen's place. It was quiet and peaceful. Jen gave us great suggestions on what to do in the area. We were out each night until 3 or4 am to watch the northern lights. It was easy to come and go on our own schedule. The proximity to Riding National Park was perfect. We spent many hours watching bears with their cubs from the safety of our car.

We stayed over Easter (April) and had a great experience. The house is on a large private lot, clean, and matched the listing. It was comfortable for sleeping, lounging, and cooking; although, the pillows in the main bedroom were flat and uncomfortable, enough to cause neck pain, so I’d suggest bringing your own if you're picky. The kitchen was decent but missing a few basics like measuring cups, and the garbage bin was too small for the size of our group. Also, the bathroom light kept shutting off unexpectedly; my husband, who is an electrician, mentioned it could be an issue with the switch. That said, communication with the host was excellent and check-in/out was smooth. Shoal Lake has that classic small-town feel, quiet with limited shopping and early closing times, so come well-prepared with what you need. I imagine this place is really beautiful in the summer! We were visiting our niece in nearby Birtle, and this place was a perfect base. We'd stay again and recommend it.
