Kid-friendly holiday rentals in East Ayrshire Council

We had a fantastic long weekend at Smithfield House. The property is fantastic and so well equipped, our group made the most of the BBQ pavilion and whilst we were blessed with some Scottish Sunshine we loved the outdoor heaters and lights that allowed us to stay outside for longer without feeling the cold. We had a number of kids with us and loved the enclosed courtyard as they could run around and were safe. The games room was also a huge hit with everyone and was so convenient that the property had an EV charger.

We loved this Airbnb so much. The area brought back such super memories for me as my wee Mum lived at the top of the street many years ago. The house is perfectly appointed with everything needed for a great stay. The big kitchen and spotless bathrooms, the lovely garden, and cute bedrooms are super. The proximity of the train, bus, airport, shops, pubs, restaurants and last but not least …the beach ….are excellent. The sunset last night 200% !!!!! Yes … book this beauty spot now. It is wonderful and the host is very responsive. Thank you John we can’t wait to come back !!!

Host was very friendly with very good communication throughout. On arrival the host made it very easy to get into the lodge and came in and explained all amenities on site and was very polite. Overall, throughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend and return.

We stayed at Heathers cottage for a golf trip, and it could not have been better. It was extremely convenient location to everywhere we wanted to go, and Heather was extremely responsive and accommodating. From making a late night arrival easy, to adjusting the timing on heater around our schedule, you couldn’t ask for any better. Our entire group was very pleased, and had nothing but positive comments. Would highly recommend staying here

The house is beautiful and has everything that you may need with an infant - a cot, high chair, bath seat, bibs, baby friendly cutlery, child locks. Clear instructions were provided to use every appliance. Eileen was very helpful in accommodating our needs. The neighbourhood is great and very close to many supermarkets.

Very nice house and very convenient for where we wanted to be. Walkable to a small Co-Op shop and could drive to Kingsgate shopping park easily too. House had everything we needed, beds (inc bunk) very comfortable. Would stay here again if available.

We enjoyed our stay. A little way out of a friendly village with a community shop and a pub that did food. Owners had made a big effort with the place and the surroundings to make them attractive and eco friendly.

Wow, oh wow!!!!! What a find, for our week in Scotland.. The photo's simply don't do the place justice - it really is quite stunning, and in such a lovely setting.. There's not enough characters to do it justice, and I'm trying to keep it brief.. Enclosed garden (which attracts many birds, and rabbits, aswell as the odd fox or deer!!), with access to further walks all round.. An incredible house with everything you can need - we even used the gym a few times too.. Close to everything you can need - station with free parking a short drive away (we ventured to Glasgow for the day, aswell as one of our party arriving from London).. Kilmaurs with various shops, aswell as a just a few miles from Kilmarnock, and many beaches - Troon especially lovely.. It was lovely to meet our host while we were there too, and thank her once again for allowing us to stay.. I could go on, but 1000 characters is simply not enough.. We love this house!! We love the area!! And we will return!!

Great apartment, clean, quiet and peaceful. Would definitely stay again.

The apartment was very spacious and had a homely feel. It was very clean and tidy when we arrived. Natalie met us at the apartment to let us in and show us round. Good location close to the town centre but is still nice and quiet. Natalie was a very responsive host.

Hazel's place was fantastic! The house was pristine and comfy. She even had spare charger plugs which we could use, which was great considering I had lost my own. Check in was extremely easy and the surrounding area had plenty of restaurants within a short walk. We would love to stay there again!

We were 2 couples in our 50s & 60s and we each said we’d be happy to live there. A great dice and beautifully light and airy. A top tip would be to keep your socks on or where slippers because the laminate floors can feel a little cold underfoot, as were the tiles in the bathroom (this would be a welcome feature in a hot summer I can imagine!) But this does not detract from the wonderful stay we had. Thank you Carrie for hosting us at your beautiful property.

This was my second stay. The location is very convenient, with the airport, subway station, and bus stops all nearby. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and well-maintained. I would love to stay here again in the future.

Gilbert was a great host. Apartment was clean and functional.

I had a very good time staying in the appartment. Very clean and quiet. The only issue I had at the beginning was i could not get the place on time but eventually I was able to find my way through and after that it was a lovely experiment from then on.. Television remote needs to be changed and the Tv worked very slow. Thats just the only thing that is negative here. Apart from these, every other thing in this appartment is on point and perfect

From start to finish, Morag was always available. She was welcoming, informative and made us feel at home. As we had arrived at 10:30 at night, the welcome pack she left us was a godsend! A farm fresh egg omelette, toast and a cuppa was the best of meals!! Everything in Prestwick was just steps awsy - from restaurants, pubs, food shops. We'll definitely be back!

Lovely location, walkable to the town centre, beach and along the river. Derek and Angela were great with their communication. A very comfortable property to visit. It was fabulous to see the gathering of swans on the river from the sofa in the mornings.

We loved our stay at Valerie’s… definitely one of the best places we have stayed at, very tastefully decorated, cozy , felt like home away from home and an amazing sea view that we enjoyed staring at when we returned home after a long day golfing, we especially appreciated the thoughtful stuff she left for our use and the welcome bottle of wine and the little helpful notes. We would love to come back and stay here again without hesitation

Anchor's Rest was absolutely perfect for our brief stopover on our tour of Scotland. So spacious and well-equipped, we felt right at home the moment we walked through the door. We had 2 great nights' sleep, a delicious meal at the Chestnuts Hotel, a good walk up to Alloway to see Robert Burns' birthplace, a lovely run along the beach, a spot of shopping, a bit of a natter with some local folk in the Tam o'Shanter and the Smugglers pubs, and cooked some tasty locally bought pies and vegetables 'at home'. Thanks to Neil for being so helpful and friendly, a truly great stay.

David & Tia's place was perfect, everything as described. It is a lovely quiet location, tastefully furnished, and very homely. We were very comfortable and David & Tia are great hosts. They are easy to communicate with and most helpful. We would highly recommend this stay. Thankyou David and Tia

Olena's Appartment is in the best part of town, within walking distance of the beautiful beach and sea and within easy reach of local areas to visit. Olena was so easy to communicate with, replying almost immediately to any questions I had, she met us on check-in and gave us a guided tour of the property and having Olena standing at the door to welcome us with a friendly smile was lovely. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Olena's place and if I visit Ayr again I would certainly book it.
