Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Dumfries and Galloway

Carole met us to check in, showed us round the fabulous house and made sure we were settled. The house and largy garden are the best we have ever stayed in, and all our Airbnb have been very good to excellent. The location is great for exploring Galloway. We had a fantastic holiday.

A great place to stay for a small group/family gathering. There are 2 living rooms and outdoor space so room to spread out. We loved the hot tub! The hobbit house is a cool addition with fairy lights, a Bluetooth speaker and is very well-insulated so warm even without the central fire going. The house has beautiful views and was a lovely place to relax and be cosy on rainy days. Only a short (15 mins) drive to the small towns of Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas, Threave Gardens and the Kite feeding place at Laurieston.

This property was perfect for us as we had a mix of age groups from 89-7 years old and very close to the venue for our family wedding. Although not ultra modern its peaceful, very clean and very comfortable and it accomodated our family and dogs very very well. Margaret was very helpful with something that was left behind which was very kind of her to return it. The children loved the pool table and that kept them entertained. I think there is a TV in almost every room if you crave TV and there is a lovely garden spot to chill out. The only thing that was missing for us was a dishwasher and with a big property that would have been helpful for tidying up especially at check out time. Other wise great!

We really enjoyed our stay at Curlew Cottage. Daniele was so welcoming and friendly that we soon felt at home in the warm and comfortable cottage with everything you need. It is wonderfully peaceful and surrounded by beautiful countryside for walks or relaxing with a good book. We would have liked to have stayed longer and would love to go back again. Wonderful cottage to explore beautiful upper Nithsdale and beyond. The garden was a lovely feature and the cottage was everything we needed it to be. Both the large bed and sofa were comfortable to sleep on. Very satisfied with our stay. Thank you Julia.

Carmen is a super host, we absolutely loved the home from home home feel. My little boy who is 2 years of age settled to sleep well in the childrens room (this tells me he felt safe in the cottage). The roku stick was available to use and worked easily. The trail at the side if the house has beautiful waterfalls to view and a few stopping spots for those who need to go a little slower/steady or have children. We experienced no issues at all with our stay. Thank you Carmen we will definitely be back again.

Couldn’t have asked for more, thank you for being such a fantastic host, friendly & responsive, property was spotless and so spacious you get a lot for your money, loads of nice little touches whether it’s a welcome pack, dog amenities, loads of books board games etc if you’re at a loose end… easy check in, perfect for our needs, comfortable beds, excellent shower with clean towels etc, loads of space if you’ve got dog(s) with you. Will stay again if I’m ever up your way - thank you very much!

Our 1st time at Cruggleton Lodge - though we have stayed at the relatively adjacent High Lodge several times. As at HL before, we had an idyllic week - which the facilities at CL provided an excellent foundation for. CL is secluded, set in the edge of woodlands, with breath-taking views out to sea. The walk through the woods down to Garlieston starts literally outside the door. Woods containing deer, hares and a wide variety of bird species. Have already booked again!

Excellent stay. Martins accommodation was bright,very spacious with fresh decor and well equipped with everything needed for an enjoyable stay in Dumfries and Galloway-the recliner chair in the living room was a very comfy bonus! Great communication from Martin with spot on details for getting there and accessing the place. Would recommend Martins accommodation, and well located, for exploring all that Dumfries and Galloway have to offer.

Fantastic stay. Caravan had everything we needed for our stay including condiments, iron, towels etc. Beautifully decorated and in a peaceful area. We will definitely be booking again!

Lauras directions and communications were spot on. Despite the caravan not being new it was spotlessly clean and well appointed. Facilities on site were good. Lots of lovely walks available without takimg the car. Its a great base for exploring the solway coast..

absolutely amazing time away. beautiful caravan . It looks lovely in the photos but I was amazed at how stunning the views are and how beautiful the caravan is. So many touches to it ....plus so many extras too. Tea,Coffee biscuits,fudge and a bottle of Prosecco was also left. New doggy bed to use and treats also. We really felt looked after and alot of care and attention was put into us enjoying are stay. My doggie loved it as did we. Waking up and having a morning coffee on the balcony looking out to sea was fantastic. We just loved every day of it. The site and surroundings is so clean and well kept. The beach is a 2 minute walk away. There are lots to do on site or many walks to do and explore the area. Also a good base to visit surrounding areas and towns. I've stayed at several Air BnB and this is on my top 3 . Highly recommend a stay here. We will DEFINITELY be back . 10/10.

Jacqui was absolutely fantastic, so friendly and so helpful and kind felt at home and so comfortable the place was spotless the hot-tubs were placed perfectly and got your own privacy with beautiful views. 10/10 will be back

Beautiful spot and perfect place for our family to stay in. The caravan was clean, with a well equipped kitchen, which we really liked! Wi-Fi was a bit poor, but we expected that as the site is quite remote. I recommend Dorota's place to anyone who wants to have a rest from their busy life. Thank you for having us.

We had an absolutely superb stay at this cabin! The hosts have thought of everything—every household utensil, cleaning product, and appliance we needed was readily available. It truly felt like a home away from home. We also appreciated the thoughtful extras, like the collection of games, DVDs, and books, which made for cozy evenings indoors. The stuffed toy dogs were a lovely touch for the children, and they adored them! The cabin was spotless, and we were impressed with how well-organized everything was, including the garbage disposal system. The private pool was a fantastic addition, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Overall, this was one of the best stays we’ve had, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommend!

I'm not sure how many times we've returned to the cottage, but we always love our stays. We especially enjoy the peace and tranquility of the surroundings and the cottage's special features - including the view over the beautiful garden from the living room window and the stand-alone bath in the bedroom. This stay we also particularly appreciated the comfy bed and pillows, and well-equipped kitchen.

We had a fantastic stay. The property had plenty of room for our small family and dog. The location is so picturesque, we wish we didn't have to leave. There's beautiful walks to be had nearby and the drive out to the nearest villages or towns are quiet and stunning. Amber and Chris were very responsive and gave us loads of ideas for things to do. We would highly recommend visiting, and I'm sure we'll be back in the future. Thank you for being such great hosts.

Amazing location, the lodge was designed beautifully inside. lots of little touches that show they have thought about everything and everyone!! Didn’t need or want for anything as it was all there!

The property was splendid, super location and peaceful which is what I wanted, lots of walking spectacular views the house was warm with a homely feel, beds were super comfy and everything was there that was needed for a perfect stay. I will be returning.

Karen has really thought about the little things that people need, even the things you didn’t realise you need. It was very comfy, lovely surroundings, lots of walks not too far away. Karen was very helpful when needed during our stay We will be back again hopefully next year

A fabulous cottage, sits alone and is extremely peaceful surrounded by beautiful countryside. Inside the cottage has everything you would need and lots of local information. Lesley is easy to contact and very helpful.

Wow wow wow If I could have given this place 10 stars I would of ! everything you need for a relaxing stay with really comfy beds, nice linen and plenty of spares, well equipped kitchen. the view from the living room was one of the best I have ever had , I will never forget it . only neighbours are the sheep and the cows which I greeted every morning . really nice garden with plenty of room for the dogs and kids. we visited a few beaches whilst there both beautiful beaches and definitely worth a visit, also the cafe at bottom of hill such friendly people . will definitely be visiting again .
