Absolutely fantastic location, with fantastic scenery nearby. Had some wonderful walks, literally behind the property. The BBQ area was fantastic like the hot tub. I can’t say much more, but I will be looking to return ASAP Matthew is a fantastic host and nothing seems to be too much of a problem. Loved the place, oh and the Highland cows are awesome.

We stayed here a few days in May. The Cottage is very remote, but you can reach the next village in arround 10 minutes by car. It offers great views of the surrounding area. the hot tub was amazing. Also the fireplace. we came to do some hikes and in the end decided to stay a whole day in the cottage, because it was so great.

This place is amazing. Great location to travel around the highlands. Every drive is more beautiful than the last. The donkeys are the sweetest and the cows are so nice to hear and very curious. The little produce stand had eggs and potatoes to purchase which was great for breakfast before adventuring out. Nice walk into town to the pub and deli, even got to meet Percy the local peacock. Everyone is so very friendly. Robert shared local spots and even where to visit the hairy coos nearby. I am glad we booked this little oasis before the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Such a beautiful little get away with so many little hidden gems nearby! Was quiet 24/7 and we loved the peace and the amount of sun the garden and hot tub got. Such a cosy cottage and made us feel at home straight away, worth the drive! Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

Lovely place , super clean with everything you would ever need for a short/long stay .super responsive when messaged too ! What a great place ! Only issue is parking on and off the drive can be super tight due to the neighbours parking outside the drive other than that what a place !

Beautiful location - clear directions supplied by the host. Local pub serving good food within a 5 minute walk. Cottage itself was clean & within a quiet location. There is a hot tub in a separate building available at an extra cost - was also clean, ready to use with a plentiful supply of towels . Would recommend for a couple looking for a weekend away interested in walking or exploring the surrounding areas

This place saved our holiday! We were camping in the Cairngorms and ended up with a catastrophic failure of our tent on the second night. Booked this beautiful cottage at 3:30am and checked in just over 12 hours later! Communication from Laura was fab, and she was always on hand with any queries we had. Delightful little cottage, and the bonus of a hot-tub and sauna made for a very different holiday than we had planned in a soggy tent. Would highly recommend, and would certainly look to go back if we stay in this part of Scotland again

Truly “off grid” in the literal sense! It runs on batteries and a generator!! Despite it not having wifi we all had great 4G so never felt truly disconnected thankfully. It’s such a private place with literally nobody for a square mile or more probably. I would say in the winter you will need a 4x4 to access as it’s a mile down a dirt track! Amazing place and can’t wait to revisit :)

The cottage has been modernised to a high standard and had everything you needed , it’s spacious and very comfortable, The location is beautiful with the bay 3 minutes away which is a sanctuary for seabirds and very peaceful , loved it there and other stunning walks from the cottage which are breathtaking. Alexa’s communication was brilliant throughout, very friendly and organised.

This is a quaint little place just outside of Inverness town center. It was easy to get around for all of our activities and had everything we needed. The canal is a lovely place to walk and watch all the dogs pass.

The cottage was even more cozy and charming than the pictures portray. We loved the accommodations and the location so much we changed our plans slightly to spend the day right in the neighborhood. We walked the beach, ate at the local cafe and had time to recharge in the gorgeous surroundings. Hannah was quick to respond to our questions and we had a great stay. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer.

Pristine! A really great spot, two minute walk to the restaurant and Culloden Battlefield site. A very special place and we enjoyed our stay. Comfortable beds and the house had everything we needed - exceptional.

It was an excellent property. We thoroughly enjoyed the view from the property. Inverness is just 10 minutes away . We wish we could have stayed for more time . We will definitely be returning 🙂

Always adore staying at Owl Cottage. This trip was cut short due to poorly pooch but will definitely be back.

John's place is just incredible. We spent 2 nights here and had a lovely stay. The kitchen is well stocked. The washer and dryer work well. The cottage has so many personal touches, definitely an A+ for comfort. The fresh flowers and champagne left for us just added to our delight with the place.

This was our 8th stay here! Beautiful as always, spotlessly clean, well equipped, comfy bed, great shower, fast WiFi…what more could we ask for!! We will definitely be back ! Thanks Dorothy

Had a wonderful time staying with Jane. The house is centrally located in Elgin and easy to navigate the Murray coastline where we were playing golf. The house was perfect for our requirements and very close to restaurants and watering holes which made the stay all the more enjoyable. Would thoroughly recommend as a place to stay for those who wish to stay in and about Elgin.

Very great place to stay!

We had a lovely stay and felt right at home. It was spacious and perfect for 4 people. We didn’t leave enough time to take full advantage of the walkable location but it is super close to town. We would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved our 2 night stay at The Old Byre and wish it could have been longer. The cottage is adorable and the provisions Anne supplies were fantastic. It is a little bit out from Fort William but that added to its charm. We walked to the Ben Nevis Inn for dinner one night (about 15 mins) which was great.

The cottage is in a great spot in Ballater. We could start exploring the area right at our doorstep. The cottage provided plenty of space for the two of us and was well appointed. It was also very quiet. A lovely place in a lovely little town!

This cottage is one of a kind. What a beautiful and authentic Scottish home and surroundings. Yvonne was very responsive when we needed her. Incredible stay!

We stayed here for three nights and felt very comfortable in the lovingly designed house. We were very pleased with the food provided for the reception, which enabled us to take a nice walk directly from the accommodation along the Murray Firth on the evening of our arrival. Recommended!
