Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Channel Islands Beach

The place is in a great spot on the beach. The windows are enormous and someone cleaned them every two weeks. It’s close to Malibu and really close to Ventura.

The home was exactly as described, and it worked so well for our two families to share. The setting along the water was very peaceful and relaxing. We were so appreciative to be able to take the kayaks out and enjoy some downtime in the sauna. The kitchen was well stocked, and we enjoyed eating together on the deck. The home is walking distance to grocery stores, the beach, and a lovely harbor community. I only wish we had more time to stay. Tiana was incredibly responsive and understanding.

I've stayed at this AirBandB several times and plan to return. The house is beautiful, comfortable and well equipped. Everything is in good working order. The beds are comfy. There is everything that you need to cook or bake. I especially enjoyed the midcentury modern sleek decorating style. Thanks Bob!

We loved this place so much! The yard was so so perfect for lounging around and soaking up the sun. We enjoyed the fire pit and bocci ball/corn hole, the perfect hang out yard! Fun location close enough to the beach, just a nice walk away. We loved the Mexican restaurant down the street. Beds were comfy and the place felt like a home away from home with all the cozy furniture. Loved that they had a high chair and pack and play. We had my niece with us and those were so helpful. We’re used to staying on Hollywood beach and Silver Strand is definitely more of a “locals” spot and a little busier beach but we loved it so much! Joanie was great and helped us with anything we needed. Highly recommend this place!

This place was perfect for our family of 4. The beach is at the end of the block. Easy walk to the grocery store, Starbucks and several restaurants. The home was clean and uncluttered and also had little extras like books, board games and laundry detergent. We used the beach chairs provided each night to walk down to the beach and enjoy the sunset.

The home is as beautiful as the pictures showed. The listing was accurate on the listed amenities and home features. It was a nice, quiet neighborhood, but had easy access to downtown and the beach. It was only a 40-minute drive to Santa Barbara and a 30-minute drive to Ojai when we were traveling around. I would definitely stay here again.

The space is great! Is clean and accurate to the photos and descriptions in the post. Janelle is a great host! The next time I’ll visit Ventura, no doubt I’ll reserve this place.

The house was very unique! We enjoyed our stay. The location was very convenient to the area we needed to be in. We walked to the downtown restaurants and the beach. It was very spacious! The beds are very comfortable. There is no AC in the living area but it was still a comfortable stay. There are AC units in the bedrooms.

Loved staying here! Joel was great - very thoughtful and responsive and made us feel comfortable! He added a lot of little touches that shows he really cares about his guests. The space was clean and full of the amenities we could have wanted. I wasn’t aware that we weren’t quite staying in a separate guest house but instead the bottom floor of the home he lives in. We could hear his big sweet dog running around upstairs - FYI in case you’re worried about noise. The drive between the house and main road takes about 3-4 minutes and is extremely steep with winding sharp turns on the side of a hill - wish I would’ve known that at booking, as it felt treacherous enough that I didn’t want to do the drive in the dark and thus felt the need to always be back at the house before sunset. All in all though, it was a great stay and the views were beautiful and have no regrets about it!

All I have to say is WOW! We were obsessed with this place. Think the photos make it look awesome? (They do, and they are accurate, but it's even wayyy better in person)! This place really did feel like a magical jungle treehouse. Enter in through the carport and you see bejeweled stone steps leading every which way, since there are a few different places here -- though your stay is its own private place. The property has several well decorated and vibey places to chill by the natural spring. The place itself is impressively decorated too. Beautiful wind chimes serenade you during the day and frogs at night (while we stayed anyway, might be a spring thing). Darrell is very kind and always responsive and provides clear instructions for check-in. Quiet, serene place to stay and you'll feel immersed in nature. Can't recommend enough and will certainly be returning! Thanks, Darrell!

Great spot right next to the beach. We watched the sunset on the beach, took bike rides to the pier and spent countless hours in the jacuzzi. Check in was seamless and the garage was an added bonus. Keep in mind that it's a tight squeeze and an SUV will probably not fit in there. The host was very responsive and took care of an initial issue with the hot tub. It was one of the main reasons we booked it and we were glad he responded quickly.

Host was friendly and easy to do business with. The location is quiet and has a beautiful patio area.

Our stay in Carpinteria was amazing! The host was very responsive and friendly. The location was absolutely perfect since we were one block from amazing beach with amazing sunrises and sunsets with a beautiful walk path. All the most amazing restaurants were in walkable distance or biking. There was also a grocery store nearby and coffee shops to choose from. The place was immaculate and had everything we needed. Bikes and other recreational equipment in the garage where very convenient. grill outside and fire pit were, our nighttime favorites since the nights get a little chilly. The views of the mountains and access to wine tour was also great. I would love to come back next time with my daughter.😊

Absolutely the best stay ever, Julie was outstanding in her communication and her place was ideal in every regard. I can not even say to all that is so easily accessible from her location. Every need I had was obtained in less than 7mins from her residence. I felt completely at home and more than satisfied with my stay. Have recommended Julie to all my friends and personally will seek her out as my first choice for all future visits. 5stars for accessibility, cleanliness and every consideration being accounted for…Julie is a diamond and I’m a world traveler so you won’t be disappointed I can assure you of that 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Just returned from 5 glorious days at Karen's place in Malibu. We rented both Ocean Sunsets and Beachcomber Bungalow. The units are attached to the owner's home, but are situated in such a way that we had complete privacy. The owners were accessible if we needed them, but otherwise, we felt we had the place to ourselves. The highlight is the incredible view from the well-appointed patio, which both units share. The home is situated on a mountainside overlooking the Pacific in a less busy section of the Malibu oceanfront on Pacific Coast Hwy. It truly felt like the ideal spot in Malibu, based on our travels up and down PCH. The units contained everything a traveler might want, from kitchen items to beach chairs. The space was very comfortable for the 2 people that occupied each unit. You could probably add one or two more people to each unit. The upper unit, Ocean Sunsets, has a picture window to the ocean and a skylight ceiling window which offer lots of natural light. For this reason we liked this unit better but late sleepers might prefer the lower unit where natural light can be better controlled. Both are decorated tastefully with a "beachy feel". The landscaping is beautiful and contributes to the feeling you've truly escaped to a paradise. There are some fairly steep stairs going down to the lower unit, then further down to the patio. My 82-year-old mother was able to navigate them with help, but it's something to keep in mind in case you're traveling with someone less mobile. Karen and Gary were considerate hosts throughout our stay. The day before we left, southern CA was hit by record-breaking heat. The AC unit in one of our units which hadn't been needed in years (with ave. summer temps in the low 70s) was on the fritz, and they had it replaced within a few hours. They made some great suggestions for sightseeing, to include staying right on our patio for a July 4th fireworks display (funded by movie stars who live in the area) in a cove down the oceanfront. For beach-goers, we recommend Zuma beach just a couple of miles south on PCH. We had no trouble parking and it felt less busy than beaches further south. Our only complaint was the weekend beachgoer traffic up and down PCH. You have to let go of any urgency to get anywhere. It's slow going. Of course we were there in the height of the season. And weekdays are better. Overall, if you like spectacular ocean views (the best in the US in our opinion), cooler summers (jackets at night), close beaches, and (once you're off PCH) a relaxing and comfortable escape, you will love Ocean Sunsets and/or Beachcomber Bungalow.
