Lake house holiday rentals in California

The view looking out into the woods and river from the living room is absolutely breathtaking. We stayed in late April and it was a bit rainy so it wasn’t feasible to enjoy the river, but the location more than made up for it. The proximity to Armstrong Redwoods, Jenner, and several charming nearby towns made for a perfect mix of hiking, beach walks, and exploring local spots.

Very nice place! We enjoyed our stay and almost everything we need is available. We especially love the private dock so we don’t have to go out. We caught a lot of fishes and grilled them. Will be booking again with friends and family!

A Perfect Family Getaway! This house is the ideal escape for families! There's so much to do for kids of all ages, and it truly offers something for everyone. This was our second year staying here, and we loved every minute of it. Watching my whole family enjoy the lake and have fun together was absolutely priceless. The house is packed with amenities—just bring your bathing suit and some food, and you're all set for an unforgettable vacation!

We loved the location, which is within 3 miles of Sequoia National Park entrance. The pool area had a child protection gate/fence around it, which really put our minds at ease. The balcony views were lovely! Really loved the interesting art work as well!

My friends and I traveled from SF for a ski weekend and came across this property. The house is very spacious, clean, views from literally every window, and the fireplaces made it extra cozy. We hope to come back again in the spring/summer to explore more in the area. Thanks again to the hosts for making our stay easy!

What a great house. Fantastic location right on the lake. The deck and the pier to the boat dock are amazing! The house is very cozy and comfortable. There are lots of different seating arrangements/places to hang out (inside and outside). The kitchen is super well-equipped, and the beds are very comfortable. Overall, this is a great find. We had an enjoyable and relaxing time here. We will be coming back.

Staying at Anne's home was the get away with friends that was really needed. Wish we could have stayed a couple more days. The view was wonderful and the property was very peaceful. The bed in the downstairs bedroom was super comfortable. Kitchen and downstairs bathroom were updated and very nice. Living room and dining room furniture were comfy as well. Had a few questions when we got there and Anne responded very quickly, which was appreciated. Would definitely stay again. Thank you Anne!!

Bryan’s cabin was spectacular. We enjoyed lots of time on the back patio watching over the lake activities and wildlife. Very peaceful and relaxing.

Beautiful A frame cabin amongst the tall trees. Very clean cabin with crisp clean linens and cozy beds. A large patio with comfortable furniture and a grill made for relaxing time outdoors. Within walking distance to the lake in a safe neighborhood. Would highly recommend and would stay again at this cabin.

From check-in to check-out, Ashley couldn’t have done a better job communicating. I’ve been caretaking for a loved one and needed a few days away to rest and recharge my batteries. This cabin was everything I’d hoped it would be and more! Nestled on a quiet little hillside set against giant, shady pines, this charming cabin served as a perfect sanctuary to slow down and reset. The bed was dangerously comfortable making it hard not to lay around all morning but coffee with birdsong & fresh air on the back patio made a strong case to get up and start the day. There wasn’t one thing I needed that I couldn’t find in either the kitchen or bathroom. And the living room was well stocked with records, games and a smart TV so I could stream music. And all of this doesn’t mention anything about the quaint little town area and lake! I had such a wonderful, restorative few days in Ashley’s cabin. The only thing I would change about the entire trip would have been to stay a little longer.

My seven year old daughter, my mom and our two dogs between us, were looking to book something for Mother's Day weekend to really feel like we got away and this place was absolutely the perfect getaway. The property itself was stunning. Remote, quiet, peaceful, beautiful. We felt like we were miles away from anyone else. To get to the home, you do need to drive up a bumpy dirt road for about 1/4 of a mile, but my mid-size 2WD was able to make it. If there had been snow, we would have needed 4WD or chains. The cabin was fully stocked, the beds were very comfortable, the rooms were set up to get the best views, the home kept very cool when it got almost 90 degrees when the windows were open bringing in the outside air. The deck was my favorite part — HUGE with a clean hot tub, stunning views and just the right amount of sitting. I fully enjoyed my morning yoga there! We want to go back! Two days were not enough and I am already looking up when we can visit again. Thank you!

This is an unusually lovely property, home and location. The space is equipped with everything we ever thought of needing. It is attractively decorated and comfortable. Full kitchen for cooking. Incredibly beautiful and peaceful landscaping. We fell in love with the sauna and outdoor shower. That and the comfort of the bed helped us sleep really well. We stayed four nights and could have stayed longer with so many beautiful wild places to explore.

We really enjoyed our stay and the use of the hot tub after a day of hiking. Very clean house, comfy beds, fluffy towels, multiple beach/hot tub towels too, and a great place to come back to after a day of adventuring. Comfy sofas and yard area to unwind. Walked down to Patton Beach with the dog. Lots of restaurants to choose from in the nearby areas. Quiet neighborhood to stay and relax in early June! We'd definitely stay here again.

We had a fun stay at Jake’s place. Cozy, clean home with a well stocked kitchen. Prime location to Kernville and beautiful view of the mountains. We felt right at home.

Our party of 8 ( 6 adults and 2 kids) plus 2 pets stayed for 2 nights and this beautiful cabin accommodated all of us very comfortably! We stayed in the entire time and there was plenty of entertainment for us and the kids. The views were absolutely breathtaking! The host was VERY responsive. We ran into some inconveniences upon arrival but thanks to the host’s quick responses, the issue was solved immediately! I would highly recommend this cabin, we would definitely be coming back!

We had a fantastic stay at this lakeside cabin! The location is absolutely stunning—right on the lake with truly incredible views. We spent our days kayaking (there’s a tandem and a single kayak available), relaxing in the hot tub, and enjoying meals on the deck with the water just steps away. It’s also quite private, which made it the perfect place for our group to unwind, play guitar, and sing late into the night without worrying about neighbors. The kitchen was very well stocked, which made cooking at home easy and enjoyable. And for wine lovers, this is a great base—we visited 6Sigma Winery for their private tour and tasting, which was absolutely worth it! There are a couple of things to be aware of: The lake water was murky, so we didn’t swim. And at night, the mosquitos/bugs were intense—huge swarms would gather around the lights. A helpful tip: keep the doorway lights off at night and use the outside lights away from the door to draw the bugs elsewhere when going in or out!

Super-friendly, down-to-earth management, added to the sensation of feeling at home in this quiet, lovely place. Can’t wait to come back next time! Thanks again Graham & Robert- Much appreciated!

Our stay was perfect! Absolutely stunning location that overlooks the large pond. It gives a peaceful and tranquil feel the moment you walk into the Airbnb. The house is beautifully decorated with a clean open concept but also cozy furniture that makes you feel right at home. The host was very kind and helpful answering questions and also letting us check-in early since there wasn’t a prior reservation that day. Overall wonderful experience and highly recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful getaway location!

This house was absolutely amazing and exceeded our expectations in every way. It’s beautifully built, clean, comfortable, and incredibly welcoming. The fireplace in the library was amazing and created such a cozy atmosphere, especially as we spotted deer through the windows. The well-stocked kitchen made it easy to prepare family meals, and the overall experience was worth every penny. The in-person tour with the property manager was incredibly helpful in navigating the expansive 7,000-square-foot space. This house made it easy to create core memories that will stay with us forever. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here as a family and will definitely be rebooking for future stays!

We had a great time at Philip’s home! Perfect location for a getaway. The home was spacious and well designed. Having private beach access was great to watch the sunset at the end of a long day. Philip provided tons of communication throughout the trip, with great recommendations before we headed up which made planning a breeze.

A true sanctuary for the soul. This house in Idyllwild is everything I didn’t know I needed—and more. Just one hour away from the city, it felt like stepping into a different world. The moment we arrived, I could feel my nervous system start to unwind. Between the river flowing right through the backyard, the private sauna and Jacuzzi, and the peaceful stillness of the forest, it was the perfect space to reconnect with my body, mind, and spirit. Every detail in the home was curated with intention and care. If you’re someone who values health, vitality, and deep rest—this place has everything: nature, healing, beauty, and tranquility. It’s also an amazing space for families—my little one thrived playing in nature and we were all able to slow down and reset together. The host was warm, responsive, and made us feel completely at home. I left feeling nourished and restored, and I can’t wait to return. This place is a gem and has become my go-to getaway for peace, presence, and health.

Just absolutely wonderful and exactly like the photos. A real sense of just being in a beautiful and beautifully designed space full of perfect touches. I stayed a month and was very sad to leave! Aria was a great host and go-between with the rather draconian guardians of the gated community (every delivery has to be individually called in and you need a weekly pass to drive through the gate). Being a mile from the lake was wonderful as was the drive up the mountain. And of course you are close to Yosemite. Could not recommend it more highly.
