Me and my friends loved this BNB!! The hot tub was amazing and the pool was an awesome addition. Instructions were clear and even called to walk me through everything. Plenty of places to sleep and loads of places to go!

The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

This was one of the most memorable places I have ever lived at! The property is huge, well maintained and just a perfect getaway spot with the right amount of amenities. Will definitely recommend this place 10/10 to anyone visiting Acadia National Park.

We had a wonderful stay at John’s place, house was clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything we needed for a month stay. Private and beautiful surroundings, responsive and friendly host, and a great location to explore Maine and the upper east coast. Memories to last a lifetime! Would recommend anyone wanting to enjoy to coast of Maine to stay here and have a great time, so much to see and do. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

We had the most amazing week at Adam and Lauren’s place! I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful it was. The house was and cozy inviting- we felt right at home. And it had absolutely everything we could have possibly needed. All of the furniture was incredibly comfortable, and we slept amazingly in the king sized bed. But what made this place shine was the outdoor space. First, it is nice and private, separated from all the neighbors by trees/patches of woods. But beyond the privacy, the hosts have put so much attention into making it outstanding with all the amenities you could want on vacation- an amazing hot tub, a lovely little lounge space, a tent to get out of the sun or rain, a grilling area, AND a pool?! PLUS a separate, fully fenced space for dogs?? AND THEN it’s only 20 min to Bar Harbor?! It’s got it all. Truly. If you are considering booking this place, do not hesitate for one second. It is the PERFECT Acadia getaway. And Adam and Lauren are great, attentive hosts!

Simply magical! Cozy and fun space. We enjoyed watching eagles and ospreys fish, seals pop their heads up, and even an adorable family of foxes from the comfort of the living room! Kitchen had all necessities for cooking most meals at home. A nice trail for walking down the road and an awesome beach where the kids threw stones and searched for seaglass each afternoon. We were all sad to leave!

The place is the perfect spot for a couple. We stayed here and visited Acadia national park a few days during the trip. Only a little over an hour away from the park entrance. Belfast is a quiet small town with some great shops. Whitney’s recommendations were spot on and we enjoyed everything we tried from her list. The homemade cookies and the welcome card was a nice touch! The place had everything we needed to cook and sleep comfortably. Tv was easy to use and log in/out of apps. Doors and windows allowed for a great cross breeze and we barely needed to use any supplemental heating/cooling. Everything was cleaned and matched the description in the listing. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful and peaceful location! While off MDI, it was still very easy to access Acadia National Park and was a convenient location overall. Wonderful views out the windows, sliders, decks, etc. The area by the water was lovely as well. As we were staying with our baby, it was so helpful to have some provided baby items—a pack and play, high chair, and a baby gate (though we didn’t us the latter)—in addition to typical items (bed linens, towels, a wide variety of kitchen essentials, etc.) Robard was an excellent host, providing lots of information before the stay and responding promptly during our stay. We couldn’t get a window to lock (user error on our part) and Robard quickly came to check it out. He arrived just as we figured it out, but was very kind about the inconvenience, and chatted with us about the area and clamming by the water.

We loved our stay on Deer Isle. It was perfect for our mother and daughter vacation. Mary was the perfect hostess and the home was delightful. We loved being walking distance from a fabulous coffee shop and a beach to watch the sunset.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The hosts couldn’t have been any nicer. We loved the space was perfect for our needs. It was close to all that we needed but nice and quiet. The extra touches in the house like fresh flowers were lovely. Highly recommend this place.

Virginia’s place was great! It was secluded and quaint. I saw a few mixed reviews about the WiFi, but we had no issues at all it worked great. It is about an hour outside of Acadia national park and great location to have to explore the park.

Greg’s place was perfect for our family and all the things we wanted to do. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and in a great central location. Although the main reason we stayed here was because of its proximity to Acadia, which we loved… our favorite activity was exploring Fort Knox- only a few minutes from the house. We would definitely love to return to Greg’s beautiful home!

Quickly became one of our favourite ever Airbnbs - such a beautiful space, perfect for the two of us and two friends to use as a base for exploring the Maine coast. Completely immaculate, perfectly laid out, and with a great outside area and shared/private beach which was great for beach combing even on greyer days. Highly recommend Amandine Bakery which is just a few minutes walk, and loved the Three Tides waterside restaurants in Belfast just a short drive away. Jason was very helpful, and quickly responded to any questions (not that we required a huge amount as the house was so well appointed!). Would love to return.

The place was just as described. It was affordable and close to things to do. Fraser checked us in and was friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Had an awesome time! The view and the space was beautiful, one of the nicest and most welcoming airbnbs I have ever stayed it. A little far from Acadia National Park but the drive was easy and it didn’t feel that long at all due to the sights. Would totally stay here again.

John's place is absolutely beautiful and homey! The house has been totally renovated in the winter of 2025 and is very lovely, classy, on-trend in ways that make this seaside cottage feel so refreshed, current and relatable. And that's just the INSIDES! The deck overhanging the rocks to the shore is THE perfect place to hang out: start your day here with a mug of hot coffee. Have lunch and cocktails in the afternoon/evening while viewing the unspoiled, gorgeous bay. Nature and serenity are what this place is ALL about! Enjoy the total peace, privacy and happiness this home provides. It's a true gem!
