Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Bowness-on-Windermere

It was perfect for us – centrally located near the train station and close to plenty of scenic walking routes. There were lots of great food spots nearby too. The property was exactly as described and matched the photos perfectly.

Absolutely loved my stay; I’ve been coming to the Lakes for over 20 years and this place is the ultimate cosy retreat, just what you want to come back to after a long day out walking. The property has everything you need and is very dog friendly; I always come armed with blankets and towels but it makes it so much easier not having to worry about carpets and the coat stand came in very handy for drying things. The location is great; I arrived much later than planned in the dark and found it no problem. It feels very peaceful and private but Windermere high street is within walking distance. I will definitely be back again, thank you for a great stay!

This property was perfect for a weekend away in the lakes. Located 5 - 10 minutes away from local shops, resteraunts, pubs and cafes in Windermere, but still in quiet area. This was exactly how it was described and on the pictures. We had all the facilities needed there and the house was spotless. Each room is very spacious and we couldn't fault it. Jordan and Maureen were extremely helpful, answering any queries we had promptly. Also sending a message during the stay, to see how we are getting on. Helped to provide local recommendations within the area and were very friendly. I would highly recommend staying here for a weekend in the lakes, especially if looking for a property in Windermere. A brilliant stay - very attentive hosts and a lovely, clean home away from home. It made the perfect base for us to explore the Lake District, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will definitely be visiting again!

My hubby and I along with our little rescue dog Charlie enjoyed our stay very much we celebrated hubbys birthday visited many surrounding areas and Charlie had a lovely park on the doorstop Lamb Cottage is perfect location is brilliant and Windermere has so much to offer

We had a lovely stay; the location is wonderful, surrounded by farmland with baby lambs overlooking the seating area! The apartment is very well specced and looked after, with a small garden house further up the hill opposite and an amazing river a short walk across the fields where we went for a swim. The photos do not do the property justice, it is a gem. Would definitely come back to use as a quiet base to explore the lakes from again.

I recently stayed at the Lakeside View Apartment for just one night, and I have to say it was a lovely experience! The room was beautifully decorated to such an high standard and really felt like a cozy retreat. One of the highlights was definitely the huge bath with a jacuzzi – it was perfect for unwinding. Checking in was a breeze, which I really appreciated after a long day. The communication with the host was also great; they were quick to respond and made everything smooth. All in all, it was a fabulous stay, and I left feeling relaxed and happy. I would definitely recommend this place for a short getaway!

This flat is very clean, smart, comfortable and well-appointed. It is compact but has everything you need for 2 people, and a perfect place either as a base for touring or just to chill. We found a space to park straight away, and enjoyed not having to drive during our stay. The Quaker tapestry museum was especially interesting; sadly the town museum was closed when we were there. Had we been here for longer, we would have caught the 555 bus from the end of the road to go deeper into the Lake District. That adventure is for another time. All Clare's instructions were clear, and she was very responsive on my few questions. Definitely worth returning to, if we come to the Lake District again.

Lovely apartment. Really thoughtfully laid out and decorated. Spotlessly clean. Comfy sofa perfect for unwinding after a day exploring the area, as well as a nice bed & bedding, plus a very smart bathroom. Great location just a few minutes walk away from town with its shops, bars and restaurants (and boat trips, of course). Flat has everything you could need and feels nicely secluded and private, and there was a parking space too. Highly recommended.

lovely apartment which was well equipped and spotlessly clean. Great central location with fantastic public transport near by. Lottie had sent some reccomendations to visit and places to eat. Like most places Mondays are tricky finding a restaurant open. Everything was great and Lottie was a kind and responsive host who left us gorgeous local goodies to ear, much appreciated

Super in communicating, place is spotless, fun authentic and cosy interior/architecture. Not Ikea thankfully. Also comfortable tv, kitchen and couch. Matress itself looks new and is good, but bed in secondary room is in my opinion a bit short for an adult male over 6ft, if you are a back sleeper. Would advice this apartment for parents with children or shorter adults. Curtains are ok, but let in some light in the morning. would choose totally blacked out curtains, but as you might have guessed I am a bit of a hard sleeper. That’s why still rate 5 stars.

Lottie was extremely communicative and quick to resolve any queries we had. The apartment was clean, nicely decorated and well equipped. The location is right on the main street of Kendal. Lottie provided recommendations for us for local restaurants, walks, etc. Lovely place - if we're ever in Kendal again, this place would top our list.

What a lovely flat in sleepy Sedbergh! Great location and very peaceful. The flat is so comfortable with the softest carpets too. Lots of extra towels and bedding available. A very well equipped kitchen and a lovely feeling of calm as soon as we stepped inside. Everything was really well thought out and very clean. We stayed for two nights but will definitely stay again and for longer next time. Amy very kindly extended our check out time and always responded to questions quickly. I highly recommend visiting Sedbergh and staying in this stunning little flat!

Fiona and Dave’s apartment was a beautiful quiet sanctuary right in the heart of bustling Windermere. It was a little tricky to find, but Dave’s instructions were excellent and the free parking area, essential for us, had plenty of room. The apartment was ideally located for our 3 night stay in the Lake District, within a couple of minutes’ walk to anywhere in Windermere, a 30 minute walk down to the lake shore in Bowness, and an easy day’s drive to most places in the area. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. It is good value for money and ideal for a couple to happily stay for a week or two.

We stayed here for one night while attending a concert in town. The apartment was perfect for what we needed. Beds were comfortable, parking for one car available, and the place was very clean. We appreciated the snacks that were made available and enjoyed a small breakfast with what was provided. Such an added plus! Would have loved ground coffee instead of instant but it was just great to not have to go out. 19 minute walk to town - very doable. Shops, restaurants and entertainment just down the road. A pleasant stay.
