Lynda is a brilliant host and had tea, coffee, milk and fruits ready for us before we arrived. The place was very clean and felt like home. Kids loved the place and the board games. The icing on the cake is the location as, it is next to Ocean edge. She responded promptly for any questions we had. We have enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return back if we visit surrounding places. Thank you very much for hosting us Lynda, we had a great time.

We had an amazing stay! The cottage was just as described and in the perfect location so we hardly had to use the car at all and were able to walk to Windermere, Bowness and Brockhole with our two girls ( 13 and 8). The use of the nearby pool was an added bonus after a day in the mountains. We’ll definitely be back! 😀

This place was beyond our expectations. Immaculately presented, super clean, tidy, jaw dropping views. I can't fault it in any way and I can't rate it highly enough. Will definately look to return in the future. Stunning!

The lodge was fabulous, really enjoyed our stay. I even picked up a couple of decor ideas. Had a lovely time feeding the ducks, swans and other wildlife, very relaxing. Shops and amenities easy to get to by car, lovely restaurants around the area. Would absolutely recommend.

I'd stay at Jackie's place again whenever I next visit no question. Good price, and the place is exactly as she's described. And whenever I messaged her she always responded back to me within 30mins at most which is excellent

House was as described, beautiful setting with wonderful views of the hills and mountains. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds and bathrooms are nicely finished with good showers. Kitchen is a good size and has all required implements. A great location for exploring the central lakes and soaking up all that Ambleside has to offer.

Wow, wow, wow. Absolutely perfect! Delightful cottage in a peaceful, private location but a short distance from Windermere and Bowness. The property was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Stunning views. We are already planning our next stay!

We had a lovely family time at Kempton House. The location is great just 10 minutes walk to the Windermere pier. There are lots of restaurants around. Lovely decorations, stylish dining room and living room. It’s children friendly too. Georgie provides cot and a bucket of toys, which is very helpful to keep the kids busy. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic stay with grown up family . Extremely clean and well presented. Suited us, as 5 adults, perfectly . As a family that tends to cater for ourselves when away the kitchen was so well stocked . Providing cleaning products for the kitchen and shower gels and hand washes in the bathrooms was a nice touch . Enough parking for our two cars . Will definitely stay here again.

Great stay at The firs in Bowness. Very clean, well equipped, well maintained living space done to a professional standard. Good communication throughout. Excellent local recommendations, very nice area of the lakes to explore with plenty of restaurants, bars, and parks in walking distance

We had a wonderful stay at Andrew’s place. The house is full of charm, combining historic character with modern comforts. Everything was spotless, well-equipped, and thoughtfully arranged. The location was peaceful yet well-connected, making it a great base for exploring the Lake District. Check-in was smooth with clear instructions, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Andrew was responsive and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this home to anyone visiting the area — we’d definitely stay again!

Fantastic accommodation! Great location - a short walk (5-10 min) to Bowness town centre and with its own private parking space. Very peaceful (and private) surroundings with superb garden and outdoor decking with beautiful views over Lake Windermere. Property was very clean and comfortable, with great facilities (dishwasher, washing machine, log burning stove, very comfy beds) throughout. Hosts were extremely responsive and helpful, both before and during our stay. Can't recommend highly enough.

The host was lovely, offering to help with anything we needed. A really lovely 2 bedroom house with a good size kitchen that had everything that you’d have at home, nice and clean too. A few lovely touches with biscuits and wine on our arrival. Considering the house is so close to the shops and restaurants it was nice and quiet. I would definitely recommend staying here, and would definitely book it again.

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage is very private with a fantastic view from the living room. Great location allowing easy access to nearby pubs and to the ferry. We were surrounded by wildlife, and particularly enjoyed seeing the family of baby rabbits hop around the cottage garden each evening.

We had a lovely stay in Alastair's home. The home is centrally located a short walk from Windermere train station and in close proximity to local pubs and restaurants. Grocery shops are 3 minutes away where you can get everything you need. There is also a bus stop from where we could take buses to surrounding towns, the start of multiple hiking routes, and the beautiful lakes. The house was clean and tidy, beds were amazing, and everyone appreciated the personal touches such as tea, coffee, hot chocolate and fresh milk as well as a collection of local hiking maps. Alastair was the perfect host, we could check in and out using a lockbox, when we asked him about local recommendations, he responded immediately, had a wealth of knowledge about the local mountain trails, and went out of his way to accommodate our needs and ensure that we enjoy our time. It was easy to give our stay a five start review, and I hope to come back again in the future.

Location can’t be beaten, in the centre of Bowness on Windemere and minutes from the lake. As others have mentioned, a little dated but a comfortable and clean stay. We had 5 adults, 1 toddler, 1 newborn and 2 dogs and enough room for us all - would recommend.

We have just returned home from 4 nights at Julie's ex-guesthouse and we absolutely loved it. We were a group of 5 adults, a 9 year old and 18 month old and there was space for all of us. Each room has its own ensuite and the kitchen is well stocked. The whole place was very clean and the utility room is also massive which helps if you need to do any washing while staying there. We will definitely look to use Julie's place again in the future. Julie replied in good time to any messages and is very friendly. Highly recommend as a great place to get around the Lakes from too.

A really lovely Airbnb set in a lovely location conveniently situated about 15 minutes walk from Windermere town Centre We found the property to be exactly as described in the reviews and we couldn’t fault the place.Everything we needed was at hand and the amenities at the property were really excellent.. The house was spotlessly clean, modern and excellently maintained. We found the lovely secluded garden a lovely place to meet for afternoon/evening drinks in the sunshine.. We did experience very cool and inclement weather for the month of June and the addition of Sky/Netflix TV and central heating a great addition for our holiday.. The host was very accommodating and easy to contact at the end of a text or a telephone call. Would I recommend this property? Absolutely !! It’s just a really lovely Airbnb

This place exceeded our expectations. Immaculate, spacious, great location. Although it was bank holiday weekend it was so peaceful in the boathouse yet very close to the town. We loved it - a great place to meet up with friends!

It was a great 3 days in Bowness on Windermere, Lake District and the stay at Rockside made it all the more charming. The place was lovely, very clean and had everything you would need for a homely stay away from home. My family wished we had a longer itinerary for this place. And host Lorayne was super in all the dealings we had.. very responsive and very thoughtful indeed. Thank you for everything. Look forward to visit again.
