Me and my friends loved this BNB!! The hot tub was amazing and the pool was an awesome addition. Instructions were clear and even called to walk me through everything. Plenty of places to sleep and loads of places to go!

The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

This was one of the most memorable places I have ever lived at! The property is huge, well maintained and just a perfect getaway spot with the right amount of amenities. Will definitely recommend this place 10/10 to anyone visiting Acadia National Park.

We had a wonderful stay at John’s place, house was clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything we needed for a month stay. Private and beautiful surroundings, responsive and friendly host, and a great location to explore Maine and the upper east coast. Memories to last a lifetime! Would recommend anyone wanting to enjoy to coast of Maine to stay here and have a great time, so much to see and do. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

We had the most amazing week at Adam and Lauren’s place! I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful it was. The house was and cozy inviting- we felt right at home. And it had absolutely everything we could have possibly needed. All of the furniture was incredibly comfortable, and we slept amazingly in the king sized bed. But what made this place shine was the outdoor space. First, it is nice and private, separated from all the neighbors by trees/patches of woods. But beyond the privacy, the hosts have put so much attention into making it outstanding with all the amenities you could want on vacation- an amazing hot tub, a lovely little lounge space, a tent to get out of the sun or rain, a grilling area, AND a pool?! PLUS a separate, fully fenced space for dogs?? AND THEN it’s only 20 min to Bar Harbor?! It’s got it all. Truly. If you are considering booking this place, do not hesitate for one second. It is the PERFECT Acadia getaway. And Adam and Lauren are great, attentive hosts!

Our family and I had a wonderful stay at Jackies, we are all originally from maine, and her home gives you everything great about maine. We really felt at home, it snowed christmas eve which made it even more beautiful ( The driveway was plowed out early as well). I brought a small christmas tree with us on our trip up, and when we walked in, the place was decorated for christmas, which was just amazing and so thoughtful. We definitly plan on staying again, the next time we are back in maine. Thank you again Jackie!

Amazing place, even better than my wife and I expected. Great location on the lake, peaceful, but not completely removed to the point of inconvienent to see other things. Easy drive to get food/groceries or to Acadia NP, but also, the place is so pleasant you don't want to leave :) The lovely chickens greeting us was an added bonus, they were fun to feed and play with but also never a problem at all (no rooster, just nice quiet chickens). We would love to come back and spend more time there!

All the previous reviews indicated we would love this location, the setting, the caring of the host....we were inspired to join Airbnb to just be able to stay here!!! The beauty of the surroundings is remarkable and we admire the care taken to keep it in its refined natural state. We are so thankful we took the description and reviews to heart! We now have another great Maine memory!

This place felt right at home and reminded me about my childhood. And Paul is such a nice host. We drove all night and he allowed us for an early check in which helped us a lot. Also the surrounding area is beautiful, you can just walk around and enjoy the peaceful time.

We absolutely adored this place. It was huge and very comfortable. We actually ended up spending a significant portion of the trip at home because it was so relaxing. The kitchen has everything you might need and we really appreciate the coffee and tea! Tiffany was splendid and even dropped off half watermelon for us to enjoy. Amanda was very responsive and gave great tips on things to do in the area. This had everything we were looking for and more. If I ever get the pleasure to go Maine again, I definitely will be staying here!

First of all the Wonky Donkey is a hilarious name The host was extremely helpful right away by giving good detail on how to find the place, allowing early checkin (saved us as we were able to nap after redeyes, before my brother's graduation), and giving clear info on how to enter We loved seeing the animals outside, and my family absolutely loved how spacious and clean the inside of the home was. The heaters came in clutch for this cold weather we're not used to, and we appreciated getting to use the kitchen and relax in the big living room area Finally, not having to follow a list of demands by the host is awesome in this day and age of Airbnb. We got to leave without worrying about how to do the laundry, where to throw trash away, washing dishes, etc We highly recommend this place if you need to stay in the area!

We loved our time and stay at Elana’s place. The house is beautifully designed and decorated and we appreciated the thoughtful upgrades in bedding, soaps, overall decor, etc. We were a group of 4 (two couples) and we each had more than enough space to ourselves. We spent most of our time during the day out and about either on hikes (drove to Acadia one day!) or visiting the shops and restaurants in the village. Coming back to the house in the evenings felt like coming home. Camden is a postcard town with great food/ restaurants, nature activities and stunning views. We stayed for a full week and felt like we ran out of time. We can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful setting and great place! Was secluded and we saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed the large windows overlooking the Penobscot. Everything went smoothly and Matthew was responsive and provided excellent instructions. Was a great location, close to many beautiful places in Maine that we visited like Acadia, Camden, Rockland, Belfast. We enjoyed walking along the Penobscot, even though Matthew did warn it was a little tricky to get down (which was true). We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would have loved to have spent more time there (there is just too much to do in Maine)!

The Roost was the absolute perfect place for our family to stay on our summer trip to Maine. Not only was the house exactly as described but it was fully stocked and extremely charming. There were even some areas not in the photos that were perfect as well. My kids especially loved the little screened in porch off of the living room. On top of the house being wonderful, John was the absolute best host we’ve ever encountered. His coffee shop next store is phenomenal and all of his staff are so kind. He gave us great recommendations and we felt at ease any time we needed to reach out to him for anything. He is kind, welcoming and will make you wish every other host was like him! We can’t wait to stay at The Roost again!

Corie was so responsive with answers to questions about wifi and check-in to fun day trips we should try while we are there. The view of the lake is the best and the swimming was wonderful. Plus loved the paddle boat. Very relaxing!!

Enjoyed our stay. The screened in porch was our saving grace due to rainy weather. Very relaxing trip!

Belfast is a great town. Loved we could travel to other areas to explore and have a place to come back to rest. For us, the bed was very uncomfortable. We loved having a fenced in area for our dogs that came on vacation with us. Awesome Stephanie accepts dogs which is the entire reason we picked her home. Stephanie is a great host and very responsive when we had a few questions.

We had a great stay for 2 nights at Leslie's place! The house is really spacious and decorative! Abundant delicious snacks were provided! You can literally find anything you need in the house - even digital thermometers which I used to make sure that I didn't develop a fever. The neighborhood is quite, and we enjoyed looking up at the stars at night. Most importantly, Leslie is really friendly and responsive, always there to answer questions, and even allowed us a flexible check out time. There's absolutely nothing to complain about, maybe except that the dishwasher was down, and the pool and ping pong equipments were a little out of date - but who cares with all the great benefits Leslie's place offers! Definitely recommended!

A beautiful home that you can tell is loved and cared for well - all of the details were thoughtfully curated and we had everything we needed for a great stay. The house and yard itself is so calming and peaceful, we could have just stayed there and been happy, but it is also very close to the town of Camden, which was adorable with lots of options for restaurants and shopping if you want to be out and about. Hannah responded quickly to all of my questions and even sent me recommendations for local places to eat and explore. Don’t miss a chance to stay here!
