Holiday rentals with a hot tub in Bahía Ballena

This place was perfect for our family of 4. It was spacious and the outdoor living space was beautiful. Two pools in the complex were perfect for our kids and the neighbours were all welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be back!

This home was beautiful, and the view unmatched! Oscar was so responsive and helpful with our very many requests. He gave local recommendations and booked anything we needed, even on short notice. It felt like our home away from home. We would definitely stay at this house again when we are back in town.

Very well-located and secure accommodation. The hosts are very responsive and adorable. The bungalow is minimalist but there is everything you need. There is no air conditioning in one of the bedrooms. The bathroom is en-suite to the double bed room. Check-in to the unit is easy. We had a lovely stay at Désirée's.

The property is very nice and the place was very quiet, everything was very clean and tidy. The entrance to the beach is a 1 minute drive. The hosts are very attentive, my family and I were very happy with the place.

Amazing! We’ve done this trip in various locations across costa rica and Brian’s place was by far the best, especially for larger groups. The dreamy outdoor kitchen had all the best appliances and tools you could ever need. The pool and lounge area felt like what you would experience at a high end resort. The music hookup and lighting at night was perfect for relaxing and breathtaking sunsets and nighttime conversations. Some of us could even get in a morning workout given the great gym area available and would end it with a cold plunge. I literally can’t think of anything else we could ever need! Beyond being an absolute paradise, Brian went above and beyond to welcome us and ensure we were comfortable. It’s rare these days that the host is as invested in their guests’ experience as Brian, and it’s clear that he really wants his guests to feel at home and welcome. He always promptly answered any questions and was eager to help and give recommendations. Can’t wait to come back!

A beautiful home and setting, with breathtaking views. The entire house is clean and tidy, ample parking and group sharing space. We would come back without hesitation.

This was our very first time in Costa Rica, and staying here made the experience absolutely unforgettable. I came with my fiancé, and we were blown away by how peaceful, private, and beautiful everything was. The house was modern, spotless, and perfectly maintained. We loved lounging by the deep pool. From the patio, we had a gorgeous view of the ocean and were surrounded by wildlife—we saw parrots, toucans, iguanas, and even heard howler monkeys! It felt like we were in the heart of nature, with all the comforts of a luxury stay. One of our favorite features was the private river that runs through the property. It was serene and beautiful—definitely worth exploring. Just be sure to bring waterproof hiking boots for the walk down! Our host, Jeremy, was incredibly friendly, flexible, and quick to respond, which made everything feel seamless. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our first trip to Costa Rica. Highly recommend—and we can’t wait to come back!

Two words “ absolutely breathtaking”! I think that pretty much sums up this place. The Host and his team were all super helpful. The property is located on top of a Mountain with INCREDIBLE views. You get a full on view of the tail once the tide recedes. The place was extremely modern and clean. I absolutely loved every piece of decor throughout the villa. I would recommend this place over and over again, to everybody. One thing I would recommend, is that you take the hosts’ advice and stop at the Supermarket at the foot of the mountain before going up. It’s a good 20mins just to get back down for some water😂

Couldn’t have asked for better. 11 of us from age 9 - 63 stayed in this lovely home and everyone enjoyed it. The house is spacious and bright with air conditioning in all of the five en suite bedrooms. The bathrooms are all a generous size. The kitchen is well equipped with two full size fridge/freezers. The entire property inside and out was spotless. The pool is beautifully maintained and there is plenty of outdoor seating and tables. The neighborhood is peaceful with lots of wildlife to appreciate. The beach is gorgeous and never busy. We swam everyday. There are numerous activities within a half hour drive. Finally, Malwina was a truly gracious host, helpful, accommodating and responsive. Elizabeth, the property manager was also wonderful. We looked at dozens of homes in Costa Rica and are delighted we selected Malwina’s. I can’t recommend it highly enough

I booked this listing for a group of 8 women. We all needed time to get away from our busy lives in the U.S. The six nights at La Sombra were peaceful and inspiring! What a beautiful location and beautiful grounds. We were all stunned by the property, in a good way:) It was even better than the beautiful pictures provided. Each villa was appointed beautifully with quality linens, towels, robes, bath soaps, dishes, etc. We especially enjoyed the patio views and the design of the structures that incorporate natural light and the surrounding nature. We ate dinner each night on the patio of the main house, and found a spot for morning meditations on the bridge. Catherine and Ryan were available and responsive before, during and after our visit. And, I cannot say enough about the local cook, Marta. We all wanted to take her home with us! What a treat:) Thank you for sharing your home with us, Catherine and Ryan!

Hillary and Johnny were amazing hosts. Very responsive and attentive to our needs. Always easy to reach and quick to respond. Helped to curate and make this one of our most memorable trips. The property is absolutely amazing. The views are stunning. The drive up the road and the driveway into the home is not for the weak at heart, but it is well worth the effort. My husband and I have stayed in Costa Rica multiple times and this is one of our favorite locations. Road was in much better condition than many of the other roads we have traveled in the past.Hillary helped arrange groceries to be delivered to the Villa prior to our arrival as well as directed us for local private chefs, and private in Villa massages. They were readily available for any needs that arose while we were there. It should be doubted that there are only curtains in one bedroom however that was not a drawback for us. I cannot say enough about the beauty of this location. The view is unbelievable. The house is so well sited to take advantage of the view. The porch is gorgeous and soaking tub is lovely. The house is glass on two sides to take full advantage of the view but also completely private. Modern decor with a serene and peaceful vibe. Isaac responded immediately to our questions when we arrived. Great weekend getaway. We will definitely stay here again!

Guillermo was a great host. He met us at the gate and was very welcoming. His place is a fun quirky little place and his pride of ownership shows. The kitchen was well stocked and the La Hermosa town square, with a consistently good little restaurant La Cuchara de Lao, was a short walk away.

Definitely a gem! I love San Luis and this is a great place to stay. The cabin is super cute and the property is gorgeous. I loved the rainbow eucalyptus trees right outside the cabin. The amenities were very nice, super relaxing - especially the infrared sauna and the yoga area, which both have a view of the distant waterfall. I especially enjoyed doing yoga while watching toucans fly from tree to tree in front of me :)

An in prompt to last minute booking that exceeded expectations. Only there for a quick stay over, but was just everything that we needed at the time. Simple, open, natural and very comfortable. The peacefulness of the sounds were nothing short of perfect. And the villa gave you the most appropriate platform to take it all in. Thank you Claudio! I hope to have any excuse to visit again!
