Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in Arkansas River

This place is in such a beautiful location and was so homey. Cheryl provided homemade banana bread and fruit, and personally welcomed us to her home. Cozy space, comfy bed, beautiful surroundings, friendly host, yummy food (banana bread AND GREAT bbq in town)… we couldn’t have asked for more.

OK to get started the Airbnb as a whole was a bit overwhelming just because the homeowner was always there and I really didn’t feel like I was in a private space and I get people are nice people wanna talk, but I’m not a personable person when it comes to someone wanting to know everything about me and my plans and my future plans and my past plans so as a whole I did not feel private, but it was a great location great place and I love the freaking pool. Other than that, I would not stay again, but I don’t want to deter anyone from doing so

Loved the place! Perfect for my family of 6. Enjoyed morning and evening talks on the porch and walks to red dog coffee. Walked to Manitou Incline. Minutes from Garden of Gods. Historic house with a lot of character.

The cabin is just what I needed for a couple nights. Good size for one or two people. Comfortable and cute in SW style, very clean with everything you need for a stay. The evenings and nights were very quiet. I didn't have a chance to check out the farm itself but it seemed very interesting and well marked. This area is beautiful to stay in and just a few minutes from Taos.

As an avid airbnb user, I must admit that this is the most luxurious place I've stayed... and without an ounce pretentiousness. Hosts Gary and Randy couldn't have been more welcoming or accommodating. Gary even reached out after the end of a long day to offer conversation, but sadly, I had to decline due to said long day. I look forward to staying in this lil oasis again, and to visit more. These guys are truly lovely humans and offer the kind of comfort a solo traveler appreciates.

Really enjoyed everything about our stay. Colleen was a wonderful hostess. The home style breakfast was amazing and The Road Runner Suite was perfect. Colleen went above and beyond, making sure we had everything we needed.

Cat's place was nice and quiet. the bed was comfortable and both the room and bathroom were clean and cozy. Cat was very nice and helpful. I would stay there again in the future!

Sule was so welcoming and friendly, I felt right at home! Everything was wonderful and right as described. She went above and beyond my expectations, I am sure I will be back!

We had SO much fun here even in the cold weather!! We were able to feed the Kangaroos and ride the Camel. Our tour was done by Hannah and she was AMAZING! She was so fun and told so many stories about the animals and kept us laughing the whole time. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub which was great after being in the cold on the tours! Check in and check out was flexible and the people were so kind. We are already talking about coming back in the warmer months!

My daughter (Courtney) and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at SunMountain! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The home was spotless, stylish, and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The location was fantastic – close to the Garden of the Gods. Rani and Mitzi were incredibly thoughtful and responsive, offering great recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. We felt right at home and appreciated the warm hospitality. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would have definitely stayed here again, and would have highly recommended it for anyone looking for a great place to stay. Unfortunately, we were told that SunMountain will not be an Airbnb property after the end of this year.💐 Sincerely, Audrey & Courtney😊

This place had it all!! Ron and Steven were so accommodating and made themselves available for anything I needed. Hot tub was private, hot and clean. Carriage house is secluded and a 12/10. They even left delicious Blueberry muffins in the kitchen area for our enjoyment. Super super clean, that was nice! They also had invited us to write postcards, with the Carriage House letterhead, so we could send to our loved ones.... they put postage on the envelope and mailed them as well. Just the best of three best at The Carriage House! I cannot wait to come back in the Spring/Summer to hit Kansas Crossing Casino (4 mi away) and enjoy their beautiful patio when all plants are outside and thriving weather is warm. You would be missing out to not book this place, for real. Just a wonderful getaway, thanks guys ❤️❤️😎

I love old homes and this one did not disappoint! It had a ton of charm and was perfect for my overnight stay in Manhattan. Very close to restaurants and the downtown area. Would stay again.

We loved the decor inside and out. It was great for our 2 little dogs because it's fenced in very well. It's out in the country, which is very peaceful. Its still close enough to town to go shopping if needed. The hosts were very friendly. We definitely want to go back some day. 5 stars all around!! Loved it! - River and Amy

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL property and even more wonderful hosts!!! I have been on the road non-stop for 4 weeks and I feel terrible that I am just now leaving a review almost 2 weeks late! These people deserve a shout from the mountain top!

We found this place making plans to tour the Safari museum, which was really awesome. The space was really clean, cozy, open, and convenient. We had no complaints!

This was my second stay at the Sanctuary and it will NOT be my last. If you’re looking for a tranquil getaway surrounded by peace, love, and compassion, this is the place for you. You have the privilege to meet and interact with the animals and learn their history and daily routines. Tamara provides an incredible breakfast that is presented beautifully and is truly restaurant quality. The space is cozy and has all the amenities you will need, and has nice little extra touches provided (snacks, coffee, teas). The nights are calm and peaceful but my favorite part was waking up to the sounds of the animals (keep in mind you are staying at their home). The space is clean and inviting ( the linens smell amazing!) This location is an easy drive to Albuquerque which we did daily for shopping and restaurants. If you are looking for a unique get away tucked off the busy path, with a thoughtful host , and beautiful animal residents to greet you, you will not be disappointed with this Airbnb!

Donna was the best Host! My son and I were traveling to help with family. We arrived earlier than expected and Donna was so kind to let us check in earlier, by extending our reservation. Saving us from finding a hotel for the first night! Her home is so lovely and peaceful! The hammock is perfect to relax and listen to the fountain for a much needed break. Our pup enjoyed the yard space as well! Her home is perfectly located near Old Colorado City! Close to everything you need! Easy access to I-25! Would recommend Donna’s home to anyone wanting a peaceful enjoyable place in Old Colorado City! I look forward to our next visit with family! Hopefully Donna’s place will be available!
