“I stayed at Julia's for five weeks and it was a home away from home. Julia is an exemplary host, who really meant it when she said, "Make yourself at home." I strongly recommend her place to anyone looking for somewhere for an extended stay in New Haven. Her house is within easy reach of Downtown, even if you don't have a car: buses run fairly regularly from outside her house or a ten-minute walk away at the top of the street. Her kitchen is really well-equipped, and completely at your disposal, so catering for yourself is totally feasible (key tip: the nearest supermarkets are just a single bus ride away, either Elm City Market in Downtown or the Stop & Shop off Whalley Avenue (for the more budget option)). I really appreciated how Julia encouraged me to make full use of the place: whether cooking in the kitchen, working at the dining room table, reading or watching tv in the living room, or using the downstairs bathroom. The room I stayed in is at the back of the house, overlooking the yard, and is nice and quiet; virtually no traffic noise and perfectly private.”

“Loni is one of the greatest host I had so far on Airbnb. The family is very welcoming, nice and genuine people. Their place is clean , quiet and very worth it to book a stay. I wouldn’t hesitate staying with them again if I have to come back to Connecticut. Also the couple are proud veterans and gave me very good advices about being in the military and transitioning. So if you are in the military and looking for military friendly host as well, reach out to them.”
A cozy basement room in a very quiet neighborhood. Brand new bathroom and bedroom, and private patio. 20 minutes from Yale. The bed is a double with a memory foam mattress topper. It is a soft bed, so someone who needs a firm mattress would not be happy. Please do not ask me to accept payments outside of Airbnb.
“This is absolute steal!! Wonderful and cozy place with super comfy bed. Be aware if you have to get up in the morning for work, you might want to push your hours :-). Great location in the middle of town. Short distance to shopping, restaurants, churches, well anything really. If Selina's place is open, I will definitely book again in the future.”
