Had an amazing experience at Twisted Twig Yurt! We stayed in February and the snowy location and quiet surroundings were perfect. We stayed warm with the wood stove and wood provided. Clean and had everything we needed and lots of small touches that showed forethought about our experience. Easy drive into Bayfield, shopping and great lunch at Many Penny. Experienced the Chequamegon Bay ice caves and Mt Ashwabay cross country skiing what a great experience with our cozy home base at the Yurt.

Dan’s place was an amazing overnight trip for my wife and I. Exactly as described and peaceful. Bring a telescope to check out the bright sky at night! We will visit again!

Always love going back to the Heart Center! It's a great way to unwind in the quiet of the woods. It's the perfect combination of everything you need, yet nothing you don't! Liz is a fantastic host.

This was our first stay in a Yurt - it was very unique and great experience. The property had a nice hiking trail. It was very cool to hear & see (thru the sky light) the rain coming down. It did rain the few days we were there, so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor firepit - but we do plan to stay again later this summer. Ellen was a great host!

I sort of selfishly don't want to write this because I feel I found a secret gem in this place but they deserve your business so: FABULOUS in every way! Sheila and her crew are pro-level. I felt totally comfortable from the moment I booked until the moment I left. It is a magical space and they are lovely, lovely people. They were available, helpful and friendly but also gave us our space. It was a COLD, rainy May weekend but so unbelievable cozy and we still effortlessly had the best time. I am having trouble imagining a season that would not be perfect here. Would go back, 100%.

We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. The farm tour with Madi was excellent, truly a must do! The yurt was cozy with a short walk to the pool and hot tub. It felt like a private retreat. We had some big rain storms while there, but inside was dry and comforting. Will absolutley be back!

We loved our stay in the yurt. It was a beautiful space inside and a very private location. Appreciated the detailed directions for how to find it as the road in is easy to miss. Temperature management and hot water were great, better than expected. Would love to come back!

We enjoyed our stay! Our golden retrievers especially loved all the grass to roll around in and to be able to swim in the pond. The owners and everyone on the property were nice. We really enjoyed the sunset trail by their home as well! One of our favorite ways to end the night was relaxing in the hot tub.

Jamie’s place was amazing. Much more than expected. Beautiful yurt that is surprisingly roomy. Great amenities and super clean. We truly enjoyed hiking for hours through the expansive property with clear cut trails. Our dogs enjoyed the quiet countryside and long walks through the forest. Be sure to check out the shale creek with a waterfall and 200 foot cliffs! Quiet mornings on the porch with a cup of coffee were perfect. The yurt has everything you’ll need for a great time, ac was great and having a kitchen made dinners easy. I wouldn’t hesitate to return for another stay. Thank you!!!

Had a wonderful and rejuvenating weekend away from the city in mid May. Having relocated from Northern Ontario to Toronto I need a regular escape to nature and this fit the bill nicely with its privacy and the peaceful setting of cedar trees next to the charming shallow river. Water was a bit chilly in the spring but I enjoyed a daily dip in the river (although wear water shoes in case of fish hooks as apparently it’s a fly fishing spot). Saw a belted kingfisher catching fish, a great blue heron, a deer and the usual suspects, all by the river. Lovely outside fireplace with supplied firewood, good for cooking over if you’re so inclined. Jill was lovely with good communication, flexibility and recommendations. No shortage of things to do nearby as well. And the yurt itself was very cool, quite spacious and easy to get to a comfortable temp if it’s chilly out. Highly recommended if, like me, you need some solace from the urban sprawl of Southern Ontario.

Such an amazing and beautiful spot. Host and her husband are wonderful and kind people. Had the best weekend . 100% recommending to others and 100% will return :) Thanks for creating such a beautiful place

We absolutely loved our stay. The place was exactly as seen in the photo if not even more awesome. The hot tub and fire pit are such a nice touch. Jodee is very easy to communicate with. We would 100% stay here again! Such a beautiful and relaxing stay.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The yurt is exactly as described, and beautifully decorated. It has everything you need, and nothing you don’t. It’s very much a “glamping” experience, complete with hot running water and microwave. We desired a secluded, peaceful small place surrounded by nature to celebrate a life achievement. This place was everything we desired. Peaceful, beautiful, restful, cozy. The hot tub was a real treat too. I hope we can make it back during winter to enjoy the wood stove. If you’re looking for a private getaway in the beautiful woods of the Smokies, this is a great option.

Let me just save you the trouble: Book the yurt. You’ll get a unique, beautiful, private place to relax AND an amazing host who is as available and responsive as you need or don’t need her to be. I only was able to book 2 nights and I wish I could have booked 20. This was a much needed solo trip for me and I just wanted to unwind in a quiet, beautiful place that was still within driving distance to any conveniences I may need. And though I was trying to disconnect, I needed the ability to have stable internet if I needed to respond to any work emergencies. My time spent on the property and in the yurt checked all of the boxes and more. The attention to detail and the pride in ownership is evident wherever you go on the property. I loved the trails. I loved the record player. I loved taking a nap on the deck. I loved hot tub under the stars. This is a place you’ll want to keep secret to yourself - but I’m thankful to Chantal and her family for sharing it with the world.

Our yurt set in the woods and was very peaceful. We brought our dog and I walked her every day and never saw a car on the dirt road our yurt was on. The Maine coast was a half hour away with many fine restaurants. It was so nice to have fresh seafood. The hot tub was nice to use in the evening and we had a fire every evening. It’s a great place to go and unwind.

An absolutely amazing place to stay! The Yurt was super nice and clean. The outside was exactly what we were looking for. A quiet, secluded getaway in the forest of the north. Plenty of room away from the road to let the dogs roam as well! My favorite part was the outdoor swing! if you're looking for the best home base while in the UP, you cant go wrong with this place. From cooking food on the campfire, to being in a great location for sight seeing, it has everything you could ask for. Even an outhouse with a view! A big THANK YOU to the hosts for maintaining and sharing such a wonderful place.

We had such a wonderful stay in a traditional Mongolian style yurt. What a treat! Jane and Jeff were amazing and welcoming hosts. The hospitality was one of the best ones I've experienced in any AirBnb and BnB alike. I recommend this to anyone who wants a non traditional stay. It makes for a fun experience with fun little amenities for an extra special touch. Thank you so much Jane & Jeff!!

Enjoyed our stay! Conveniently located, just outside of town. Matt made sure we were taken care of 5/5.

I had my friends visit me there, one of whom is a carpenter. They arrived at 11:00AM and left at 6:00PM. It was very quiet and we greatly enjoyed the bird wildlife, especially the interaction of ravens as they put on quite a show. My friends were blown away by the unique beauty of the Yurt as well as the attention to its detail; it’s no wonder that it was featured in Forbes magazine as well as others. The host Kathleen was one of the nicest people I have ever met! Overall it was a great stay, and I will be back often ❣️

This was the first time we’ve ever rented a yurt. We would definitely go back to see Shari. She did not miss a beat. It was everything that we needed right there. Even bathrobes. I highly recommend going to stay here. We will definitely be back. If I could give 100 stars I would.

We had a great getaway at the yurt! It is the cutest place we have ever stayed. We loved it and will be back if we are ever in the area again. It was private and quiet and the hot tub was great! Highly recommend!

beautiful place to get away and unplug from electronics. plenty of things to do from bean bags to board games, you will definitely not feel bored . and don't worry there's still cell service!
