Family-friendly holiday rentals in Alexandria Bay

I booked this cottage for myself, my son, my mom and sisters. It was perfect for our needs. The lake is gorgeous, accessible and very nice to swim in. The cottage comes with lots of water activities included (kayak, canoe, paddle boat). It’s also very close to Westport (20 min) which makes a fun little half day trip :) We did it, and it was nice to get out for a bit. The cottage is part of a larger cottage resort. They have different accommodations for large groups which is something I’ll look into the future. The larger house on the property has an even nicer private beach!

Beautiful location, directly on the water. Cottage is part of a group of cottages with shared recreational space. Lots to do. Great for family or friend gatherings. The place is pretty isolated so bring all that you need. Volleyball, basketball, pickle ball, small zip line, lots of boats to use. Kitchen was well stocked. Host was very accommodating.

Erin's place was wonderful for our family of 12! We agree with the other reviews - the photos don't do it justice. It was clean and well-equipped. The only negative was that we arrived on a very hot and humid day, so we definitely very hot, with no AC. We brought some fans and did purchase some larger fans. The kitchen was perfect - we made most of our meals. We did go out one night and the Gran View and really like that suggestion. The paddle boards/kayaks and floats were so nice to not have to rent. The river is super calm before and after storms or in the mornings. We rented a pontoon boat from Wellsey Island, and it was dropped off at a nearby marina. We docked the boat on one side or the other of the dock, depending on the current or rough waters. We loved the quiet road for walks, and only a 25 minute drive to A-bay. The grill worked well. All in all, it was a great place!

We had an unforgettable experience during our stay and look forward to returning next year. The island was beautiful, the many different houses accommodated our large group and each family of the 5 that went had their own space to unwind. The kitchen was beautiful and made meal prep and cooking so easy. The kida had lots to do with basketball, board games, mini pool tables, hot tub and the highlight was definitely the swimming. The water was great, warm and clear at any given time during the day and the kids had so much fun jumping off the docks, using the paddle boats and the canoes. We all had such a great time and are so thankful to Marla and Sherri-an employee who helped us when we checked in and checked out- Sherri was a great help, kind, friendly, hospitable and even recommended a different cottage with less steps for next year that I will definitely look into because it was a beautiful experience. Don't think twice about booking your stay here my family and I loved it!

We had a great family week away at David’s place and as a host he was super helpful. The view from the window/hot-tub/deck was fantastic, shame we could not bring it home with us! The weather was not great for the week, meaning limited time on the lake. We did manage a day on a hired boat, the other days we went on day trips to local towns and Ottawa by train from Brockville. We also did a city cruise of 1000 islands and attended the annual 1000 islands rib fest. The house was well equipped with all we needed for a great family stay and a relaxing week. For a BBQ recommend a trip to “The Butcher Shop”.

We stayed at Robin’s place for a weekend with 3 other families. Had a wonderful time and made full use of the great facilities. Highly recommended.

Great long weekend stay! The lower cottage was clean and had a beautiful view. The property had a lot of activities and things to do. A lot of canoes/kayaks freely available. Marla was an attentive, responsive host. Would stay again!

We had such a cozy and comfortable stay! The sunsets over the river were breathtaking. The fenced yard was such a luxury to have traveling with our dogs. It was a great location that made getting to any of the nearby towns and state parks very accessible! Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing, we had great plans, but the ice storm and the cozy fireplace changed those plans. Hermann and Tracy were an absolute blast! Super chill, and super friendly, we would come back just to spend time with them! We had a cute visitor to come check up on us as well! We hope to be back, thank you hosting us Hermann and Tracy!

It was simply a wonderful experience. It was a peaceful environment. The view was amazing, you could see the incredible lake and island view even from inside the house and the balcony was amazing. It was a dreamy place that I would definitely go back to. Also, our host was very helpful. They helped us with everything, I didn't think we would be this comfortable. Laurel was an amazing host! The place was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. She was incredibly responsive throughout our stay and made sure we had everything we needed. Her thoughtfulness really stood out—she even offered us a late checkout, which we truly appreciated. The peaceful surroundings and little touches made it feel like a home away from home. Highly recommend staying here—we’d definitely love to come back!

We love this cottage! We rent a cottage near Westport every summer, and this one was for sure one we’d come back to. It’s only 2 minutes down a gravel road (incredibly short) and a 9 minutes down drive to the grocery store, while still being beautifully quiet on the lake. We saw tons of deer and did lots of swimming. Highly recommend. Also highly recommend the driving range just down the road! We “worked from home” for the week, and the wifi was more than capable of supporting that (not necessarily city speeds, but for video on meetings and Netflix it was perfectly fine!)

Rafael had a beautiful basement apartment, separate entrance and amenities. We appreciated the small touches of breakfast !! & toiletries for what we forgot. Close location to everything we need and family too. The only down side was we had an older and large top-heavy dog who couldn’t manage the stairs (husky malamute). They were advertised but I just didn’t think of it until we struggled, and our younger and smaller dogs were just fine with them.

Anita's cottage made us feel comfortable and relaxed. It had a great beach vibe look to it with all her personal touches in the decor and design of the cottage. The cottage is very sizable and to have the extra bathroom in the nearby shed was truly a luxury. The cottage is well situated right on the water with only steps on the large multi level deck giving access to the St. Lawrence River. Swimming was great for our family and dog as the access to the river was shallow and gradual to the lake. Both of the full days we had at the cottage was sunny and clear and we were able to take advantage of the stunning sunset that landed directly on the deck of the cottage. The kitchen was well stocked with the necessary spices and utensils necessary to cook inside or on the BBQ right outside. Anita was very responsive to our requests and was accommodating to a last minute change in the number of guests and allowed us to charge our Tesla in front of the cottage.

We had an excellent stay with Bonnie in Clayton. Her place was well cared for and convenient to everything. Bonnie was a responsive and hospitable host. We look forward to coming back. -Keith (and Amanda)

First time Airbnb user. What a GREAT place and experience! I was very nervous about the whole process. The owners put all that to rest quickly. Answered all questions faster than I expected. Provided detailed instructions, Harbor House is right on the water literally floating, with a great view of the river. It was very clean, and ready early for our visit. Our fall visit was only 3 days but we all absolutely enjoyed it. The kitchen, furniture, beds with linens, bathrooms with towels all were perfect. Parking was good as well. Evenings were spent on the porch talking, and of course, enjoying cocktails. Given it was October, we even had perfect weather, close to 70. The great weather was compliments of the owners at no charge. What a GREAT STAY! I would absolutely recommend this place.

Nick's place has a great vibe to it. There are a lot of amenities including kayaks which were a great activity to do. The host communicates very fast. Thanks for a great stay. We will be back!

We had a beautiful weekend. It is a beautiful and peaceful place. The beds were comfortable and it was very clean. I would book it again. They were also very accommodating for me and my guests. The dogs are super friendly and very cute.

Everything was perfect here at the Deluxe house. We had everything we needed and some. The outside Area and the finished basement were a bonus!

Clean is an understatement-it was meticulously kept inside and out. The property was constantly being maintained but without being intrusive. The hosts were pleasant, very responsive and provided clear directions and instructions both digitally and in print at the property. Our only regret was that we didn’t book a longer stay. Can’t wait to come back!

This is the only place I'll stay at from now on in Alexandria Bay, the house sits right in the water and has amazing views of the river and bolt castle. There is a lot of space on the property including fire pits throughout and a nice pool.

Nicholas was a great host. Everything was as described and the location is beautiful. If we are in the area again, we will return to this spot!

Came here for our honeymoon last year and it was amazing. This place will never disappoint. My husband and i brought the daughters back this year and was just as amazing again. Great place to stay!
