Andre was a fantastic host. There was a very generous welcome basket, including wine, waiting for us on the kitchen table. He responded quickly to our inquiries and provided a very helpful list of local attractions and restaurants. The house was well equipped, very clean and perfectly located for exploring Sao Miguel. We would definitely recommend this house and Andre as a host.

Beautifully renovated old house, retaining original elements. The new extension, with the raised glass cube, is fantastic: stylishly furnished, beautiful views, always varied, private. Only the chirping of birds. Car can be parked on private property. Garden is private. Good bed! The kitchen is somewhat impractical, but that is secondary to the advantages of the house. During our stay, there were construction works next to the house. We were not bothered by it, especially because we were often on the road during the day. In short: fantastic place, worth repeating! The home was beautiful and spacious; its such a unique space with modern amenities and historical charm. Everyone in our group said they had the best sleep ever; the beds were really comfortable and the shutters allowed the rooms to get very dark. We loved the open garden and all of the thoughtful treats they left for us. Both the furnishings and the decorations around the home are very nice- you really feel like you're in someone's tastefully decorated home. As other reviewers have mentioned the house is on a somewhat busy street (busy by Sao Miguel standards), so there was some traffic noise during the day, but during the evening it was very quiet. There is not a lot walkable from the house, but it was very conveniently located for us to drive around and explore the entire island; and it came with a very easy parking spot- which is nice after all of the tight parking around the island! We'd love to stay here again and we would recommend it to others.

I stayed here for a week with my family (including two kids - ages 8 and 10) and we had a fantastic time. The house is perfectly located for exploring Sao Miguel - it is easy to get to all parts of the island - and is very spacious with a beautiful view of the ocean. The recently renovated kitchen is a huge plus too - we had no trouble cooking dinner at home one night (there is a huge grocery store nearby). Laetitia was also a wonderful host, leaving a basket of local treats to welcome us, connecting us with a rental car agency, and otherwise being very helpful.
