Holiday rentals with lake access in Acadiana

Sarah was an excellent host. The home was comfortable and clean. The best part was sitting on the patio in the morning, sipping a cup of coffee, and watching/listening to the birds on the lake. It was just wonderful!

The home was lovely and the neighborhood was really quiet. Me and my family enjoyed the spacious home. I had a few questions and Shelia was very friendly and responded quickly. I will most definitely book again if I’m in the area.

Wife and I recently stayed here for 3 nights. This place was just what we were looking for after staying 5 nights in New Orleans. It’s a very peaceful location. You get the feel of how the rest of Louisiana is outside of New Orleans. It’s a rustic fishing cabin just like the pics show but the place is clean and had whatever we needed to cook our breakfast(we ate out for dinners). One day we did plantation tours from here and the next day we did the swamp tour(highly recommended). The swamp tour is hosted by Allen(owner) and well worth it. He had us catching catfish out of the lake and later fried it up for us and made us a complete dinner! The owners live across the road and are very accessible and are such nice people! My one complaint is that the decking around the cabin is in pretty rough shape but the pictures do show this. From the decking we saw bald eagles, gators in the water, a snake, and lots of fish jumping out of the water!

This is the second time we’ve stayed here. My daughter wanted to go back to the “really pretty Air BnB” [this place]. There definitely will be more once available; she gives a place that feels like home away from home.

James really went above and beyond for us, as we were scheduled to fly out, the place booked was not available to us as the person staying there could not go back home to Florida due to the storms. This sent me into a spiral as we were coming in on Parents weekend along with 9,400+ others and I feared we had nowhere to stay or even finding a place to stay. James went out of his way to get 2 of his non furnished studios furnished and ready in the mere hours of our traveling to make sure we had a place to stay once we arrived! He really went out of his way to make things happen and I could not be more appreciative of him. My daughter is a freshman and I would say we will be using James again in the future!

We didnt get in until well after midnight, had a little trouble finding the place. Gps sent me a block or so away. She answered even tho it was so late and helped me find the place. We didnt get to enjoy the lake because we left early for our travels home, but we will definitely be back when we can enjoy the beautiful place! Beds were like sleeping on clouds. So we got some amazing well needed rest!

Overall everything was great. Really nice place actually. My ONLY complaint are the beds. My god are they absolutely awful, I cldnt hardly sleep bc the beds are so hard and firm. Toss and turned both nights. Even my younger son cldnt sleep bc they are so hard. They def are not comfortable if you ask me. My cousin who stayed with us woke up with back aches as well. I highly recommend you change these mattresses to something softer for a better rest. Other than that the place is very well kept. Plenty of towels, nice kitchen. The only other thing I wld say is to navigate the tv was pretty difficult. There was a tv guide and remote but no one cld figure out how to use Cox Tv and instructions on how to get to use it. So instructions wld have been helpful. All in all is was a nice place. Thanks

This was a lovely home, very clean and host provided all the essentials for our stay. It was a bit different to find the unit so be sure to pay attention to the host’s directions. I had to call her back a few times because we got a bit lost. This was one of the most lovely and inviting places I have stayed at so far. It is very close to LSU if you are in town visiting students. The area is lovely!

Amazing host very nice and helpful along with a beautiful place

Our family enjoyed our stay. Very spacious, relaxing , private and comfortable. Steve was very responsive to any messages.

Laura was very pleasant and responded quickly to all of my questions. She went to check out the rental before we arrived to make sure everything was in order. Enjoyed communicating with her.

Great place to stay for us and our big dog. Did a lot of walking and exploring, looking for wildlife. did a lot of birding - it was awesome. there's a marsh behind the house and a bayou across the road in front. saw some gators and beavers paddling around. we also visited the state park just down the road. nice boardwalk and of course more birding and beavers. Did not get to see black bears. Maybe next time. Had everything we needed. got to watch a storm roll in over the bay. Really enjoyed our stay. Will happily return and highly recommend.

John's place was super comfortable and cozy and within walking distance to LSU campus - which was the purpose of our trip. The house is in a very nice and quiet neighborhood and has all the amenities to make you feel at home. The sun room is also a perfect working space if needed. Kitchen has all the appliances you need, including coffee pods! Overall a very pleasant experience.

What a beautiful little getaway spot! We had family coming in from out of town and didn’t have enough room at our home to host everyone. Nicky provided the perfect lodgings for our out of state guests to experience a quaint trip to the country. Thanks again!

I would recommend it to everyone, but I might want to keep it a secret it is so charming. Little geckos and stripped skinks to greet you in the morning along with birdsong. The sounds and sights of waterbirds flying to roost at dusk. Yep, I'm coming back!
