The house was as depicted and had everything you could want. Our visit was during a rainy autumn spell so the fireplace was a nice bonus. As others have mentioned, the surrounding houses are unusually close meaning everyone pretty much has to close their curtains at dusk to avoid being on display. It was a great base for exploring the area.

We had a very pleasant stay at Jenny’s place. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. Jenny took the time to explain everything about the house and made us feel like part of her family. The home is fully equipped with everything you might need — from kitchen utensils to food, tea, coffee, milk, and other everyday essentials. It’s a cozy and warm space with heaters throughout, making it very comfortable, especially during the colder months. The property also offers a lovely view of the mountains and a peaceful farm-style environment. One of the best parts is its location — just a short 30-minute drive to Mount Ruapehu. It’s an ideal spot for families looking to enjoy the snow and cold weather activities. For a family of four, it’s a perfect retreat that combines comfort, convenience, and natural beauty. We felt very safe and at ease here. This place is not only great value for money, but it’s also an experience that leaves lasting memories. Thank you, Jenny

Great place to stay. Very well set out self-contained unit. Odette even supplied some lovely yogurt and homemade stewed plums that we had for breakfast. Highly recommend if you are staying or passing through Whanganui.

Was such a nice quiet place to stay! Very comfortable little place for our nights stay. Wasn’t expecting anything for us other than the normal cuppa essentials, but had left us some bread, butter, eggs, milk and Feijoas also. Appreciated the lil complementaries. Great little place to stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Juanitta and Wayne's place. They were very friendly and kind and nothing was too much trouble. The property is really pretty and very peaceful and quiet. The bed was comfy and the bathroom and kitchen spaces were great. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks very much for looking after us!

great spot for to checkout Whanganui and surrounds. cottage has everything you need and the information binder provided is very helpful. there is road noise if you are a light sleeper but we didn't mind as we were already up for the heaviest morning traffic.

We had a wonderful stay an Jannel‘s tiny house. It was perfect to explore the Tongariro national park - just a 30 min to 1h ride to the most important hikes in the park. The proximity to Ohakune was great to quickly get some groceries and take aways. The restaurants were nice! Still, the location of the tiny house 15 min out of town was great to relax and watch stunning sunrises. Jannel and her family were very welcoming and friendly.

"Everything was perfect!" We loved our stay at Leigh's place. Aramoho Art House is an art experience in a warm, comfortable and well thought-out space. We had everything we needed and the wood burner was a huge bonus. The kitchen was well equipped, light-filled and spacious. The pink-tiled bathroom and shower were divine. Comfy and warm beds topped off our stay. Our communication with Leigh was prompt, helpful and friendly. Hopefully, Aramoho Art House is available next time we visit Whanganui!

We had such a great 10-day stay at EJ’s place! The space is beautiful, modern, and super comfortable. I loved all the plants and the fresh, clean smell of essential oils throughout the home. The veggie garden out the back is amazing too! It’s in an awesome location — just a short walk to the beach and a play area for the kids. Everything was spotless and felt really welcoming. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Wow, what a lovely home from home. Gordon and Catherine’s place was so cosy and well appointed. Great spaces and areas to relax. Comfortable bed with high end linen and towels. The whole cottage was very well equipped. Catherine and Gordon are so friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay again.

Lovingly decorated. Good sized space for our family and kitchenette had enough in it that we could cook small meals. Comfortable beds and furniture.

Nice rural area, cabin had everything we needed for our overnight stay. We didn't venture through the main house grounds, but all the information provided said we were welcome to. Plenty of info in the folder for anyone needing ideas on what to do. Easy, seamless check-in and check-out.

Great location close to the mountain bed was comfy. Not far from a dinner place nice and simple
