Cottage holiday rentals in Whanganui River

A lovely house with everything you need for a cosy stay. Our two young daughters loved the outdoor baths and making friends with the cows. I’d recommend Delwyn’s house to anyone looking for an escape!

A wonderfully authentic kiwi farm stay.. the cottage is well stocked and maintained. A perfect weekend away for our city living but farm-girl at heart 3 year old.

20Bee has everything we needed for a long weekend stay and then some. We didn't get a chance to use the fire pit or the fire but hopefully we will next time. Spa pool was well used after all the activities we did in the area. House was warm and dry. DVD's galore. Games. Jig saws. If you're ever stuck inside, you'll not be bored. And if you can get out, town centre is only a couple of blocks away. There's plenty of parking in a very quiet neighbourhood. This is one unit that we will return to now that we've fallen madly in love with everything there is to do in Ohakune.

Could not fault this place honestly! From when we first walked through the door we knew it was a great home. With it being a smaller home it felt more cozy with the fire place right in the middle. Beds were super comfortable, it made getting up a whole lot harder haha! Kitchen was everything we needed. Not very big, but we didn’t need big. Lastly spa! Beautiful surrounding whilst you’re enjoying the spa. Perfect temp when we hopped in this was one of our highlights. We would 100% come back to this little cottage in the future as we have more exploring to do in Ohakune.

Mark and Shelley were excellent hosts! They always responded incredibly quickly to messages, and created a welcoming environment for my holiday. The house was extremely comfortable, and is conveniently located close to both the gorgeous tongariro river and the local shops. I'd highly recommend them!

The place is it is as described. My children love the toys inside and the backyard. Great walk to a lake nearby.

Our group of 6 + 1 furry friend loved our stay here! Great location for walking / running local trails and cruising to the pub or out for coffee. A 3 min drive to the supermarket. Felt like a safe area to be in and was super quiet and peaceful! We’d definitely stay again - thank you!!

The Drive from Taumaruni to Whangamomona is a nice drive. We loved the small town and how friendly everyone was in the pub that night. Ceri's place is well worth a stay. The old Butchers shop from a time long gone. Amazing History there. Thanks Ceri.

We loved our stay at Moore Street Cottage! It was perfect for our family snow trip. The place is beautifully decorated and has everything you need. Would absolutely stay again!

cute old lil Bach with some interesting history & photos on the wall. we enjoyed the location, close to.the Beach & the Citadel cafe. being pet friendly was extremely important to us too. this was my 2nd stay at Monday cottage & would stay again. recommend to others looking for a lil escape at the beach

Very nice little cottage. Everything was so easy to find. We arrived late on a very cold night and the hosts had turned on the heatpump for us to get the place warm before we arrived - it was such a lovely touch and we very much appreciated it.

This beautiful cottage was surprisingly and extremely clean inside, creating a wonderfully homely atmosphere. I visited at the beginning of winter, and while the chill remained even with the heaters on, it only enhanced the authentic cottage experience. The absolute highlight of my stay was waking up each morning to the sight of numerous deer just outside the window. They were truly the heart of this special place. I intend to come back and stay even longer.

Absolutely love this location, close to the forest, mountain, town and trains - the whole family enjoyed it. The house is lovely and had everything we needed with the exception of a washing machine but there is laundromat in town. The kitchen works well and the kids loved the raised bath - they've never been able able to watch trains from the tub before!

Good place. Rustic ... but exactly what was on the tin. I think the only thing I'd change would be to provide additional heating in the living area (beyond the fire).

We had a wonderful stay at Zara’s place! It was cozy, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed. My son absolutely loved it and didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend for a relaxing and comfortable getaway!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this beautiful farmhouse. If you're looking to truly disconnect and unwind, this is the perfect spot. Just a one-minute walk to the river, with breathtaking views all around it felt like we had found our own private slice of paradise. The lack of Wi-Fi and phone coverage turned out to be a blessing, we were able to fully relax, unplug, and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. The farmhouse itself is cozy, well-maintained, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend for anyone needing a break from the busyness of life. We’ll definitely be back!

Beyond 5 stars in my opinion - even though that’s not an option. Cozy and comfortable cottage that was just right for our family of 3. The attention to detail was most impressive - with a feel of living in luxury in a older (1920s ?) restored cottage. “Better than home” was a comment from one of our family members. Louise is warm, friendly and hospitable - making you feel quite welcomed. Louise is also a guide - we learned - we might try fly fishing on a future visit with a longer stay. Turns out that Turangi is one of the top spots on the planet. Definitely on our list if we visit again and a strong recommendation to our friends.
