The basecamp cabin, with its fireplace and hot tub, made for a relaxing and peaceful winter getaway. It is spacious, cozy, and clean. The surrounding camp was quiet and peaceful, but I imagine it would be busy in the summer, as Sam Baker park is right down the road and there are small cabins and camping surrounding the property. The camp has trails to the lake and the nearby St. Francis river to explore, and the night sky was great for stargazing. The camp lodge has a small store and very helpful staff. The beds weren't very supportive, but were warm and clean. Lesley was a responsive host.

from the moment we got on the property we fell in love with the cabin. the pictures are wonderful but don't do it justice. every single view from the cabin was breathtaking. the hosts thought of everything, even had extra toiletries! we noticed other guests left some food for the next guests, and we did the same! this is the absolute perfect place to have a romantic getaway. we didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back!

My partner and I came for a long weekend getaway and it was perfect! The lake was beautiful, Lesley and the lodge staff were very friendly, and the hot tub was so nice to have access to. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be booking another stay at least once a year if not more. Thank you! 😊

This is a wonderful place for a weekend with a spouse or a family get away. we wnt for our 10 year anniversary and are going back with the kids this fall. Highly recommend!!

It was a beautiful perfect weekend! They were so accommodating and nice. The place was spotless. It was a wonderful weekend trip. We definitely want to come every month and stay there!!

Pleasantly surprised. Nice area downstairs that would be a great place for teenagers to have their own space. Nice, quiet main floor bedroom with comfortable bed, you will sleep like a baby. Centrally located, close to quick stop and attractions. People’s Creek, swimming area and boat ramp is right across the street. Shamed I didn’t get the time to use the hot tub but it looked great!

So thankful for this getaway! We got some time away from the kids and enjoyed this sweet cabin and the amenities. I left my wedding band and they graciously mailed it to me. Very satisfied with staying here! The river was too high to float but I’m sure it will be lovely next year when we come a little closer to the summer season. Blessings!

Wonderful home and wonderful host. Our kids LOVED this place. Private and quiet and plenty big enough for a large family. Easy drive to Poplar Bluff and Dexter. Well stocked with everything you could possibly need and an amazing deck. We will be back!

We had a great time! The place was as described. The hosts were so kind and informative. Bri insured that we had everything we needed. She brought us fresh towels every day and just checked in. The area was peaceful. Not only were there fishing spots within walking distance there was also a great fishing spot right across the road. Close to town and a cute little indoor flea market. It did rain most of our stay, but that did not ruin our trip at all. We will absolutely be back.

The cabin was perfect for what we needed. We ordered fire wood and Justin had it waiting when we arrived:) My only warning is of the train pull off, with younger kids they got very scared the first time, it gets loud and clanky. But after the intial scare, it was fine and had no problems sleeping through the night. Beds are very comfy.

Ideal location to relax after a day hiking around the state park. Chris is a welcoming host, the cabin is amazingly cozy, the bed is superb, and the shower has great water pressure. I will book this place again, you should too.

Dorothy's place was pleasant and the sunsets were gorgeous. I had a very peaceful stay.

AWESOME people and place, some of the amenities weren’t ready to use but as far as the cabin that you stay in and the owners were incredible! Great location if you’re doing anything in Advance. They went the extra mile to accommodate traveling duck hunters. Will definitely stay again when I’m in Advance!

Kevin's place is beautiful and interacting with him was great from the start! The house is gorgeous and so big one could get lost in it at first. One must remember that there are stairs to climb to enter because of its location along the banks of the river! And the location..."WOW"!!! Right on the banks of the river surrounded by trees. Looks like a state park or something! The only thing one needs to watch for is the very narrow steps leading to the upstairs bedroom. One of our ladies did slip there and took a bit of a slide for a few steps. Not Good! House is clean and inviting right down to the claw foot tub in the master bedroom which looks out through double glass doors to the river rolling by inviting you to come on out and at least sit on the deck that literally hangs out over the water!!! Highly recommend this place. Excited about booking again for a couples retreat or a woman's retreat.

Very beautiful property with lots of green space walking areas and access to river. We were there for total solar eclipse and Robin left a nice gift of Moon Pies and bottle waters. She answered all our questions and was very accessible, had a few nice conversations with her while there. Our cabin was just what we needed for just the two of us. We enjoyed the deck and front porch.

Great quiet place. If you looking to get away to just relax this is a beautiful quiet place. The misquote are the only complaint so take some bug spary and enjoy you stay.

The cabins are perfect for a stay on the black river. The location is free of light pollution. You can see the stars, walk to the river, there is a kitchen, barbecue grill, fire pit. I will be back!

Last minute getaway for my husband and I. We were pleasantly surprised dogs were allowed and they even had a dog park on site. Cabins are super cute and organized. We spent most of our time on the lake fishing or at the private river access letting our dog swim. The golf carts made it much easier to get around because there’s so much to do. We wish we would have booked longer so we could have explored the property more and possibly kayaked but we will definitely stay again!

Mark is a great host. We stayed for the 2024 eclipse and Mark gave us plenty of recommendations - great places to eat, spots to view the eclipse, and other local scenic spots. This spot is great if you are looking for a quiet place with beautiful surroundings and southern charm. Thank you Mark!

Absolutely loved our stay at the cozy cottage! We had such an amazing time! The cottage was so adorable 🥰! The full size bunk beds were so comfy and roomy!
