We felt like at home. The house is located in a private property with swimming pool and tennis courts. It’s very clean and very peaceful. Just a clarification about the description : there’s no bathroom in the basement. Then if you come with elderly people or very young kids, it could be annoying. If you like cooking, the kitchen is very well equipped. We´ll keep a very good memory of our stay in Ducktrap Retreat during the colorful foliage season.

What a wonderful experience! Rebecca was an absolutely outstanding host, always quick to respond and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. My family and I had such a peaceful stay. The home and location were incredibly tranquil, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The house and property were absolutely beautiful, and we loved sipping our morning coffee on the amazing balconies with the breathtaking views. There is so much space, and every room in the house is well thought out, functional, and cozy. The pool is even better than we hoped, so big and clean and in immaculate condition. We spent most of our time swimming and relaxing by the pool. We also enjoyed playing pool and having so many rooms to gather in with the comfort of plenty of new comfy furniture. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind for a vacation away from all the noise and chaos of daily life. Every single area was as described in the listing and better. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

Angela’s place was wonderful! Very cozy, clean and comfortable, well stocked, close to downtown Portland. Snacks was a nice touch! Angela was very responsive. Hope to come back soon!

Kathi’s place was great! Super close to the Downtown Portland/Old Port area. Kathi was a great host, extremely responsive and genuinely nice, plus she even made my family and I some delicious blueberry muffins for our stay! Her instructions were clear and she made us feel right at home! Would definitely stay again whenever we’re in the area!

Property had amazing views. Inside was beautiful and very clean. Pond and river was nice. Host was quick with any question we had. would recommend.10/10

There’s not enough nice things I can say about Liz’s place and her and Mark. Such a lovely home, fully stocked with everything you need, including a fresh supply of eggs from Liz’s chickens and ducks. They were super accommodating, warm, welcoming, friendly, helpful and genuine. The house is a haven if you’re traveling with kids. My son and nephew did everything from running in the fields and playing with chickens and goats to building train tracks and taking slides indoors. The house is well located with lots to do in the area. We visited the Maine botanical gardens and the drive from the house was easy and short even with the kids. It’s such a peaceful place and Liz and Mark are exceptional. We plan on going back there in the summer!

George's home is my favorite property to stay at when I travel to Midcoast Maine. It is so beautiful, clean, roomy and centrally located to all points of interest. The property itself beautifully landscaped as well. There is a private outdoor sitting area to listen to the birds and soak in the sun. I wouldn't hesitate to book a stay here!

All the previous reviews indicated we would love this location, the setting, the caring of the host....we were inspired to join Airbnb to just be able to stay here!!! The beauty of the surroundings is remarkable and we admire the care taken to keep it in its refined natural state. We are so thankful we took the description and reviews to heart! We now have another great Maine memory!

Such a beautiful warm welcoming place, Jennifer was a great host and her home was amazing. A peaceful atmosphere with a beautiful view. I would definitely recommend this place to a group of friends or family looking to just get away. For sure looking forward to coming back one day.

This was our 4th stay at Bobbie’s house! We love it for the beautiful surroundings, close proximity to great restaurants and Bobbie’s house is always so comfortable and extremely clean. We feel so comfortable there. We got to experience a gorgeous winter snowfall. Bobbie’s husband Colin came and plowed and shoveled for us! We saw lots of deer, some wild turkeys and the majestic bald eagle. We are already looking forward to our next trip! Thank you Bobbie!

My family had an excellent time at the cabin! Great location and very comfortable place. It is a well stocked cabin with loads of games and even some toys. Honestly, couldn't have been better! My three-year-old did not want to leave!

This was our first trip to Maine's Mid-Coast and we fell in love! This home was in the perfect location! Very close by to Owl's Head, Rockland, Camden and Port Clyde! We were all able to spread out and feel at home. We even cooked fresh Maine lobsters and steamers (end of Dec) we got from Jess's! in the kitchen. The little ones loved the fun games in the lower-level! We'll most definitely be back!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in Holden, ME! This Airbnb was so nice and clean and pretty close to Acadia National Park. I needed to stay close to work in the park and this spot was the perfect distance away. It was quiet, peaceful, and away from tourist traffic. Also close to gas stations and a grocery store. The hosts were so friendly and nice and we would highly recommend anyone stay here! Thank you Dana + family!

What a beautiful home— such awesome details, mindful updates, excellent history. Ben and Emily have done an incredible job decorating. Also to note, the kitchen is very well stocked with quality cookware. The house felt very clean. We really enjoyed our stay. One minor thing about the highway 1 out front… it’s a little busy, but with the fan on we couldn’t hear a thing and slept great! Thomaston and the surrounding area has so many hidden gems we could’ve spent a lot longer in the Mid Coast!

We had such an awesome time at the farmhouse! North pond is less than a half mile walk down a path on the property and it was excellent to fish, canoe and just hang out on the small beach. The house was clean and had all of the amenities we needed for our nearly month long stay. Rockland, Rockport and Camden are within a 20 minute drive so restaurants and stores are super close by. This was an amazing place to home base out of as we explored Maine and house hunted for our forever home. The hosts were so kind and very responsive to any questions we had! We highly recommend this house!

Great stay on the water! The host also treated me and my two sons to a little boat ride, which was a highlight.

This house was amazing—hosts really have thought of everything when it comes to guest experience! Kayaking out to the tiny islands in the bay a couple times allowed us to see horseshoe crabs and bald eagles up close. The fire pit was great and the “s’mores station” with supplies in the kitchen upon arrival was so cute and thoughtful. Our three kids loved this place and didn’t want to leave at the end of the week. Our boys especially loved the lower level game room with ping-pong, arcade games, and pop-a-shot. The kids also loved reading on the sofa in the upstairs loft overlooking the kitchen. The kitchen is well stocked and we cooked dinner there a couple times during the week. The hosts gave great local recommendations as well—the craft beer at Fogtown Brewing in Ellsworth (less than 15-min. drive) is excellent, and it is very kid-friendly with a large outdoor eating area and wood-fired pizza. We’d love to return to this house! Mosquitoes are fierce so bring bug repellent.

This place was amazing! The location is off the beaten path but still close enough to everything you need. The house/cabin was the perfect size, great kitchen, awesome to have the luxury of a washer and dryer and nothing could be the view. We definitely will be back!
