Our weekend at the Hen House Cottage was a 10/10 experience! The host, Dottie, was very communicative and made sure we were comfortable during our stay. The area is very peaceful and private while also being within a good distance from the river and downtown. Extra toiletries were provided in the bathroom as well as dish ware in the kitchen. Remotes and light switches were labeled, making it easily accessible for us to use. There were multiple pamphlets for local activities and sights to see. Dottie left us an anniversary card, flowers, and fresh eggs from her chickens! We can’t wait to visit the Hen House on our next San Marcos trip!

We stayed here while our home was being repaired after an insurance claim, and it couldn’t have been better suited for a longer stay. The house was spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed—from a fully equipped kitchen to a washer and dryer. The beds were genuinely comfortable, and the whole space felt like a true home away from home. It was the perfect setup for an extended stay, and having a calm, cozy place to come back to each day made a stressful time much more manageable.
