Yurt holiday rentals in The Great Lakes

Had an amazing experience at Twisted Twig Yurt! We stayed in February and the snowy location and quiet surroundings were perfect. We stayed warm with the wood stove and wood provided. Clean and had everything we needed and lots of small touches that showed forethought about our experience. Easy drive into Bayfield, shopping and great lunch at Many Penny. Experienced the Chequamegon Bay ice caves and Mt Ashwabay cross country skiing what a great experience with our cozy home base at the Yurt.

The yurt is the best AirBnB I’ve ever stayed at! It is such a unique experience to stay there. We slept so well in the quiet and peaceful environment in the forest. We also enjoyed the walking trails and seeing all the animals on David and Trish’s farm. They are truly great hosts in a wonderful location!

My husband and I were scrambling to find a place to stay for some last minute plans in the area and I am so glad I happened to come across Paula and John's place. If you are thinking of booking. just go ahead and do it. The property is really amazing and full of things to do. The yurt is so cool! Comfy bed and all the needed amenities. The (detached) bathroom even has real plumbing! Paula and John are both extremely friendly and are there on the property to help with whatever you may need. We had a great stay and really enjoyed kayaking on the canal in the mornings. We can't wait to come back!

Such a cool place! My girlfriend & I found this last minute and we were glad to have. So many beautiful acres of rolling hills tucked away about 30 minutes away from downtown Ithaca. We stayed in a tent right near a gently flowing creek. All the amenities listed are all quality and thoughtfully created - recommend this stay if you are trying to camp with much more isolation and tranquility than your typical campground.

Staying at Milena and Johnny's was nothing short of a fully authentic experience. Not just because of their beautiful and unique property, or the surrounding nature, but because of Milena and Johnny themselves. As soon as you step foot on their land, you can instantly feel the love and care they put into receiving their guests. If you let it, everything here feels like one big warm embrace. I truly feel that Milena and Johnny prioritize making your experience special—not because they go out of their way, but because it comes naturally to them. In a single trip, I was fortunate to experience the full spectrum of feeling alive and deeply connected—to everything around me and within myself. I had an excellent stay. Really enjoyed the experience staying here on a rainy night. The fireplace was perfect for taking off the chill and it was peaceful listening to the rain on the yurt roof while staying dry. I will certainly be back!

Melissa’s yurt was a serene oasis with all the comforts of home. We loved hearing the sound of the rain on the yurt and sleeping in the cozy loft. The place was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy a long anniversary weekend. The yurt has lovely artistic touches and is set in a beautiful pasture. Seeing the sheep was a welcome site with morning coffee. And so many birds to hear and enjoy. The area has so much to do and see. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a great time in the yurt, which felt very authentic and distinctive. This trip felt like camping with a very well appointed high-end super tent. The provided cooler and battery bank for lighting created a very comfortable experience. We’ll consider booking again, especially with similar weather to our mid May booking. Thanks again!

Guy is a very responsive and helpful host, and it was great to meet him and get some helpful information about the house. We also met Sooty who is adorable! The house is small but had plenty of room for the two of us and the bed was very comfortable. We liked the local area, it's very close to the lake and local amenities. We'd recommend the Stoltzfus Family farm shop which has incredible local produce.

Loved our stay in the Natural Mongolian Yurt! Beds, pillows and duvets were very comfortable and the yurt was warm and cozy when we lit the stove. The spa is incredible, highly recommend doing this during your stay! Loved seeing the farm animals and walking the grounds. We will be back for sure 🙂

Was exactly what we needed, an escape from the city and it was a beautiful getaway. I was worried about the yurt being too cold, but the fireplace heats up the space very quickly! They have lots of blankets and heaters and fans and the entire thing has electricity! It was awesome!

Neil’s yurt is a truly special place — peaceful, beautifully maintained, and full of warmth. The space was spotless, thoughtfully arranged, and incredibly comfortable, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the natural surroundings. What really stood out, though, was Neil himself. His presence is calm, kind, and welcoming, and his care for both his guests and his space is evident in every detail. We felt completely at home during our stay and left with deep appreciation for both the yurt and the host. Thank you, Neil, for your generosity and for creating such a meaningful space. We’re always looking forward to coming back!

To find a yurt in Wisconsin that’s not on the campground is a gem. This was not my first time, but was my fiancé‘s first time in a year and the experience couldn’t have been more delightful. As many other reviewers have noted Dan is a kind and welcoming host. His property fits those that are not looking for a five star hotel they’re looking for cozy/comfort just above backpacking experience to knowing that you won’t get rained on and you have a clean commode with toilet paper and a lovely beautiful warm outside shower. You don’t need much more to find joy. Our English cocker spaniel had a smile on her face the entire time Paisley smelt every blade of grass and wanted nothing more than to chase the neighbors horses and sheep, but of course we were respectful and let her look out the car window as we slowly drove by. If you're looking to unwind in a cozy, warm, bigger-than-it-seems quaint yurt look no further! Fish's yurt was a pleasure to visit. The hosts, Tracey & Christopher, we're exceptionally welcoming and a pleasure to spend time with. Our dog, Millie, had fun meeting & playing with the other dogs, Squiggles & Arthur. We also enjoyed walking in the neighbourhood, taking in the beautiful scenery, and a day of ice fishing on Seagull Lake. 100% will visit again!

This was an absolute gem! The yurt was an experience both my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed. Everything was so clean and fresh, and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful. Kirsten was also a fabulous host who was very responsive and helped us celebrate a birthday by leaving us a little treat to enjoy during our stay! 11 out of 10 would recommend this place to anybody, and we hope to come back. (Side note: never knew I needed an outdoor shower until NOW! Absolutely loved!)

Very wide open and enjoyable area to stay in. My dog had the time of his life on the land!! Very clean shower and bathroom as well. Will return!!

The Blue cabin was amazing. David and Laurie were excellent hosts, very experienced in hospitality and hosting guests. They were also very respectful of our privacy, but also super responsive for any raising needs or questions. Our dogs loved the place and freedom to roam.

We had the most lovely stay at the yurt! We loved the privacy and tranquility of the location and Ivy was very communicative about expectations and amenities of the space! it’s close to adorable Alden and a lot of great spots along the east side of Torch lake. Our dogs loved the outdoor space & we loved the wood burning stove. We would definitely come back!!!
