Remote, Lake View Guest House

Do you need an escape from home? Our quaint one room studio cottage is located in our avocado grove with great beautiful views in the hills of De Luz. It has a king size bed, 3/4 bath, kitchenette with 10 cu ft fridge and stove (but no oven), gas BBQ, dining area and private deck ~ it sleeps up to two people. The cottage has it's own entrance and driveway just past the main drive. As you relax on the deck or from the house you will enjoy the panoramic views and a view of the lake. The cozy cottage is approx. 700 sq ft and is adjacent to our home on the property. We have "natural AC" (i.e. no AC but fans and lots of windows and doors). Also included is satellite TV and Wifi, and a continental breakfast usually consisting of bread for toast, fruits, coffee and tea. The cottage is a great destination for a "get away from it all" retreat, for hikers and for cyclists and motorcyclists that want to enjoy the back country roads and vistas. You will enjoy the gorgeous drive to our cottage with the windy, narrow tree lined roads. The Temecula farmers market is a popular destination on Saturdays, and Temecula has a fabulous selection of wineries for tastings and dining. In Fallbrook, there are a variety of great restaurants, cute shops including a retro candy store,and a popular art gallery as well. We are located close to the Santa Margarita River Trail which is a 6 mile loop trail located near Fallbrook, California that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is used for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. It is accessible year-round. The Santa Rosa Plateau is another fantastic hiking spot, with vernal pools and gorgeous rolling hills and panoramic views. We are located 7.5 miles (15 mins) from Fallbrook and we are 25 minutes from Temecula, and 45 - 50 minutes from Oceanside. In addition, we are also approx 1 hour from Downtown San Diego and the SD airport. Just an FYI, we are 15 minutes from the closest store in Fallbrook, and the roads to get here as mentioned before are windy but lovely. We also have 2 sweet indoor/outdoor kitties that might stop by for a visit but we do not allow them in the guesthouse. Just to note, living in a rural area we share our property with the local critters that pass through such as coyotes, raccoons, etc. In additions to the furry critters, we also have the insect type. We try not to use pesticides so you potentially could see a bug now and again. Note: due to the coronavirus, we are taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations and at least a 3-day hiatus between stays. Weekly rental possible.

My place is close to the beach, Temecula wine country, and outdoor activities. You’ll love my place because of the serenity, the lush greenery, the privacy, and the amenities. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Due to COVID -19, I have arranged my calendar to allow 24 hours between guests. I also have purchased a ozone machine, which I run between stays. All hard surfaces are wiped down with 70% alcohol, floors steamed cleaned. All Linens washed with bleach.

Staying at the airplane house was more than an Airbnb stay but a dream like experience. The place is unique and surrounded by beautiful scenery and a peaceful environment. It brought out the child like playful imagination in that it felt like being a Robinson Crusoe adventure. It was an added benefit that it’s so close to Temecula wine country and the Pechanga Casino. We highly recommend people stay here and let their imaginations go wild.

I stayed in the downstairs bedroom with a friend. Everything was clearly labeled and there were instructions for everything you could possibly need which I always find so useful. The small touches made it obvious how much they enjoy being hosts. We didn't use the terry cloth bathrobes and slippers but it was the first time I found such thoughtful amenities at an Air BnB! The portable standing fan will certainly be handy later in the season but as the evening temps are so cool we just opened the window at night. There were spare bath towels and the coffee/tea station had everything you could want including honey. We really enjoyed the cookies in the evening :) The small touches made it obvious how much they enjoy being hosts. I will certainly look to book again. Thank you for such a nice stay and a friendly family!
