Cactus Jax Cottage was designed to make your vacation the perfect getaway. This home away from home was designed with comfort in mind! Get lost in a book while relaxing on a comfy daybed; kick your feet up and watch your favorite Netflix series; lounge in bed & enjoy the peace & quiet; or wrap an apron around your waist & have fun cooking a healthy meal & serve it out back on the farm table under the cozy strand of lights - after, roast marshmallows seated around the fire pit. We hope you enjoy!
“This is such a beautiful home. If you are looking to relax and want to explore Joshua Tree this is the place to stay. I visited with my husband and 2 daughters (ages 6 and 12) and we all loved the place. My daughters did not want to leave! This place is so stylish and cozy. The best part is the adorable kitchen. Offers condiments, pans, coffee, tea etc making it easy to cook something for my family (there’s a Vons like 5min away). Also the back yard is so lovely. We did s’mores for my girls while I sipped on some wine. My husband’s favorite part is how close we were to JT National Park. Can wait to be back and thank you for having us.”
The Joshua Tree House is a two bed two bath 1949 hacienda located 10 minutes from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park in Joshua Tree, CA and about a 10 minute walk from downtown Joshua Tree with many shops and restaurants. This also means that some sound from the highway can be heard. If you're looking for a completely silent desert experience, we would recommend our other property: The Joshua Tree Casita (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10614974).
“I came here for a change of scenery with us being quarantined in our small condo and no backyard and it was exactly what I needed. This place is soooo beautiful and very peaceful I feel like we didn’t even need to leave. I sat on the porch every morning and drank the delicious coffee. Thank you! The location is perfect it feels tucked away from everything surrounded by beautiful scenery. The kitchen was stocked with a lot of great items although I did need a flat pan for my pizza and realized there were only round pots. Maybe shop after you get there to see what you need. I brought all the wrong stuff for cooking but that’s my fault, no toaster oven or microwave. Just FYI Walmart is so close so that was a huge plus. The beds were soooo comfy in both rooms. My daughter didn’t want to leave. The showers were awesome the water pressure was nice . The hammock was adorable and the floating chairs was the perfect place to sit and read. We had a few flies, moths and other creatures fly in maybe someone left the door open but thankfully we had the flight swatter that was helpful. We also enjoyed going In the hot tub it was the perfect temperature and it was very clean. I also loved that they had board games available to play, we had fun with those. My kids loved the vintage vibe. Joshua National Park is so close we visited the park twice. Beware of the cholla cactus at the park they are very dangerous. My daughter got one stuck on her ankle while visiting the National Park we didn’t even see it on the ground. Our hosts were so awesome and quick to respond to everything. I couldn’t find the iron and they messaged me right away that they had a steamer. Beware with using the steamer I accidentally put it on top of my daughters outfit and burnt a hole through her outfit, there are plastic covers in there that should be placed over the steamer-again my fault but I didn’t know. Thank you again Sara and Rich!! We had the best time. I so needed this weekend getaway and your place was insanely beautiful. Thank you!”
The house was originally built in the 1940s and is located in the 'Joshua Tree Village' on Park Blvd, the road that leads into the National Park. If you're into history - it is one of the original structures in Joshua Tree!
“My wife and I decided on a last minute trip to Joshua Tree to get out of town for her birthday. While looking at several options, we decided on Ryans place, and we loved it. All-in-all, the home was as described, and we really enjoyed relaxing in all that the back yard has to offer. It's a very short drive to the west entrance to the park which was great as well. The only thing I would say is for people who are looking for a very remote home in Joshua Tree away from neighbors, this might not be the home for you. It's pretty close to the neighbors, but still felt private overall. The communication with the host was also great as the response times were quick, and we ultimately decided to stay an additional night with no problem. Thanks for having us Ryan”
