Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Te Arai

We enjoyed Richards house for a week while spending time in Whangarparoa . It was perfect for us and affordable. We made fresh herb salads from the garden and loved the fresh honeycomb on vogel's toast in the morning. Fresh eggs and strawberries were a great bonus- Loved having all the doors open on a sunny day - a great beachy zen spot. Highly recommended . It's not 5 star swank... however it is down to earth comfortable and a much loved property with everything we needed. Beds very comfortable too.

We had the most fantastic time staying at Villino. It really did feel like a proper restful holiday away. The reality was better than the pictures and we had a lovely long lunch just next door at the vineyard and walked down the road for an easy swim at the beach. The food and communications made everything so easy. Really hope we can stay again sometime.

We had a fantastic stay at The Black Pearl. We loved the sea views, comfy beds and location. The house was easy to find and reach by taxi or bus, the local bowls club was great for a feed and a few drinks, and the French bakery down the road was perfect for a light breakfast before heading out for the day. It was great to have the fireplace for the chilly nights/mornings, and Kurt and Sacha were quick to respond to our messages. Overall an amazing stay and great value for money.

We had a wonderful weekend and created some truly beautiful memories in this stunning home. The fireplace was a lovely touch, especially during the chilly mornings and evenings. The kitchen was modern, stylish and very practical, with a massive island bench that worked perfectly for our group. It made cooking and sharing meals together so easy and enjoyable. The hosts were readily available through the Airbnb app whenever we had questions, and they graciously allowed us a slightly later check-out as we were having such a beautiful weekend. The instructions for using the house facilities and checking out were clear and really helpful. The spa pool was amazing and added an extra layer of relaxation to an already perfect weekend. I will definitely be coming back again. Thank you for such a memorable stay.

We really enjoyed our stay . Location felt really private and away from main roads . Location was great only two stops on the bus from the wharf . Having the car available was amazing , made travel around the island so easy .

Such a great stay at this lovely home - super cosy for our group of friends needing a peaceful long weekend away! Loved the communal spaces and we had everything we needed. Matt was a great host and gave us a late checkout too which was def a bonus! Thanks again :)

Amazing modern accomodation with a stunning view. Great location (though is a drive to the beach) but great for walks on the estuary. Quiet & private enough. Really nice high quality build. Will be back for sure.

Back again! It’s a great place with incredible views out to the Barriers. Simple but stylish with plenty of tools in the kitchen to knock up a great feed, and, the best slumber with the comfiest of beds. I reckon we’ll be back!

House is beautifully clean, kitchen is well appointed. Beds are very comfortable with good quality linen. Great location would highly recommend

Great place to stay.... exactly as depicted in pictures if not better. Spacious dwelling (for apartment style accommodation) easily accommodating the 5 of us, with a lovely outlook. Mike is a great host who leaves you to enjoy your stay but is only a text msg/phone call away if required. Great walks (hilly) to nearby bays with spectacular views along the way. Cafes, bakeries, and a Four Square grocery shop only a (hilly) walk or short drive away. Highly recommend.

The house is situated on top of a hill with a breathtaking view. Our families of 10 adults and 4 children spent four nights at the lodge. The house is like maze. Plenty of space for everyone. It's clean, fresh linen and towels and reliable wifi. The kitchen is very well equipped to cater for large groups. The outdoor BBQ and pizza oven were a bonus. Plenty of things for the kids too i.e. trampoline, table tennis, throwing darts and toys. Great communication from the host Daniel. He sent clear and easy to follow instructions a few days before our arrival. We want to go back again and would definitely recommend this place.

We had a 6 day family Christmas Holiday here and it couldn't have been nicer. Daniel and Angela met us when we arrived and explained the various systems such as pool, TV, internet, etc. They were available nearby in case we needed them (which turned out we did not), but did not intrude in our privacy. The actual facilities were even nicer than the photos and descriptions provided in the AirBnB listing. One of the special things about this home displayed was the care and art that the hosts have put into it. Everything is amazing. It is ultra-private and it seems as if you are alone in the forest overlooking a beautiful valley. The view from the upstairs master suite is awesome. Our two grandkids spent hours each day in this nice, clean, warm pool. The pool - patio area was well done and relaxing for lounging between swims. . I would HIGHLY recommend this property and hosts.

What an amazing and Beautiful home, so many things to do, from pool table, pinball machine , big movie projector where it was so relaxing with the kids to snuggle in front of fire place. Daisy is of the best Host I have come across, so responsive to all messages, also she is very accommodating to requests we asked of her. Definitely recommend Daisy beautiful home to anyone who is looking for a place with all ammenities, feel real homely inside & even outdoors with pool & spa , trampoline for children & swing, big lawn outside where kids or family groups can run freely. Five adults and six children had a wonderful weekend in Mangawhai, using Carolynn's house as our base. There was plenty of space for everyone to find their own corner, both inside and out. The kitchen was big enough for several cooks to work in at once and the dining table was big enough for us to all sit around so mealtimes were a treat, not a chore. Amazing view to the east, including sunrise across water and moonscape sand dunes. The spa at the end of the day was a special treat for our family, as was the large TV screen in the lounge. We missed a few books and board games but everything else was in good supply. Thank you for a special long weekend with my family Carolynn.

A beautiful house in a beautiful location. It was clean, had a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and sofa's. The living spaces for our group of 9 women was perfect. We loved our time here and will definitely be back.

We arrived in a storm and walking into a prewarmed house was amazing. Lots of space, sitting rooms and bedrooms as described. Open fire was lovely on our second night and sitting outside in the sun for breakfast was my favorite. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment, plates and was clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

I think it's safe to say that not only are there no complaints at all with both this place and the host, we were blown away by the quality of everything from start to finish by every measure. To anyone out there who want a place to live like a king or a stunning view to invite your guests over for a picnic, this is the place to be. The host here is an exemplar for what all ABNB hosts and landlords should aspire to be.
