“Staying at Janets beach house was absolute amazing! We enjoyed this special place very much! It is even nicer than the pictures show. The style is so gorgeous, the view is amazing! Even from your bed you can watch the ocean! A nice breakfast is prepared in the fridge and Janet is the hospitality in person! She gives wonderful recommendations and also provides a fantastic guide booklet she made herself with the best tips for the area. She knows it very good! We also loved to use her Kajaks in the bay and the sunshelter and towels for the beach! And not to forget her lovely dog Teddy which is the cutes teddy bear you can imagine! He is very well educated and loves to get cuddles. We highly recommend staying with Janet. It is such a great holiday experience!! Thank you Janet!”

“My husband and I just stayed in the barn at Emily's place for five nights. We had travelled from Perth (WA) to NZ for some weddings. Emily's communication from the start was always up-to-date and easy to understand. She had the night before we were coming free, so offered us to check in early if we needed as she knew we were driving from Auckland. Emily was out with her family when we first arrived, but we were confident to head into the barn and make ourselves at home after communicating via email. Upon arriving we were at first a bit taken aback with how close the barn is to the family home (even though on such a huge property), but we quickly learnt that this doesn't impose on our privacy as guests. We barely saw the family when we stayed there and everyone certainly respects your privacy. The laid back, casual style of the barn was comfortable yet modest. The bed was comfy and the bathroom/toilet new and clean. The large kitchen has everything you might need in it and the sky tv was a nice touch when we had done plenty of exploring for the day and enjoyed some couch time. I was kind of wishing it was cold enough when we were there to light the fire but it wasn't...I could certainly imagine enjoying a wine in-front of that during a storm outside! The whole area is struggling for enough rain, so restrictions are in place, so you really need to support this and try hard to not waste water during your stay. Buying a few big bottles of drinking water would probably be handy on your way to stay there, as if you aren't used to rain water taste it can be hard to adapt to. The Matakana township is only a 7 minute drive away - so it wasn't too bad to even shoot straight down in the morning to grab coffees and bring them back. I felt the 7 minute drive was worth the incredible view of the harbour, ocean and rolling green hills.”

“Pippa is an outstanding host! She goes above and beyond what is expected of a host. The location is very handy for a wedding in Tawharanui or for staying a little out of Matakana. You can hit the National Park, mooch to the markets (go early), go on a sculpture trail etc. We stayed in the studio next to the barn and enjoyed having a very kiwiana themed space. The studio had everything we required and we liked that you could use the door to close off the bathroom and also the bedroom. Our young daughter enjoyed being a short walk to the animals. Pippa phoned us and made sure we had all the correct information and was also able to help us with the wedding location and give us local tips. We loved it so much we are back again in two weeks time!”
