Cottage holiday rentals in Swellendam Local Municipality

We stayed in the Tango cottage at De Wilge for three nights in late April as part of our family trip to the Nuy Valley, Worcester, and Robertson. We were so impressed by Amanda, our hostess, who was warm, friendly, and super knowledgeable about the area… She made excellent recommendations for local outings and she was so kind and welcoming! My wife loved the cottage’s beautiful and tasteful décor and our teenager couldn’t get enough of the hot tub and the stunning mountain views. All in all, a wonderful place to kick back, relax, and unwind. Thank you for having us, Amanda!

What a wonderful unexpected stay. Perfectly located with breathtaking surroundings/ well planned house with everything and more you could possibly need. We had the loveliest stay at 360 on 62. The cottage is quaint and beautifully styled with antique furniture and thoughtful finishes. We especially loved soaking in the hot tub under the stars – absolutely magical! It's a great base for exploring the Langeberg area, with plenty to do nearby. The honesty shop is such a charming touch too. Highly recommended.

By far one of the best experiences ever. Basically you will live like farmer. The facility was comfortable and clean little bet cold but Henk (the host) provide wood for heating. Highly recommend. I will visited again

A Truly Magical Escape – Frog Mountain Stole Our Hearts Wow, some places truly touch your soul, and Frog Mountain is one of them. You can feel the love, care, and passion that Gabriela has poured into creating this magical retreat. Our stay was nothing short of incredible. From the joy of walking up to the labyrinth and witnessing a breathtaking sunset to the pure exhilaration of squealing down the foofy slide—every moment felt special. We loved hiking to the waterfall and rock pools, immersing ourselves in nature’s beauty. Our cozy rondavel felt like a warm hug after each day of adventure. The charm of Frog Mountain extends beyond the landscapes—it’s in the horses grazing peacefully, the cows wandering the fields, and the symphony of beautiful birdsong each morning. Swimming in the river was a refreshing delight, and every corner of this place felt like a gift to the soul. We are deeply grateful

We had a wonderful stay at Lonette’s place. The house is well equipped with everything you need. The aircon and pool were lovely as it was super hot! Our dog was also welcome which was an extra bonus! Lonette’s communication was excellent and check-in was easy. Thank you, Lonette!

Natalie is an excellent communicator and highly responsive, making interactions smooth and hassle-free. She is incredibly helpful, considerate, and genuinely friendly. The village where her property is located offers a peaceful, safe, and picturesque environment. Her home exudes charm and character, adding a unique touch to the stay.

What a magical place. Ended up staying 4 days instead of just overnight, because we were nestled in special beauty. The cottage is very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. Beds are comfortable. There are endless pathways to walk on everywhere, and take in all the magic Montagu has to offer. Highly recommended.

We had such a magical long weekend! This beautiful home wasn’t just the perfect getaway—it was the perfect fit for our family. It truly felt like a home away from home, and we loved every second. We were all so sad to leave! The location is ideal—central to Malgas and close to local restaurants and the shop, all surrounded by the most stunning natural beauty. The house is incredibly well-stocked and peaceful. We especially appreciated how sound doesn’t travel through the house easily—a huge bonus when you’ve got lively little ones! Having access to the two-man kayak was a real treat. The weather played along, and we spent hours paddling on the river—it was absolute bliss. We’ll definitely be back! Great location and views. The place is comfortable with everything needed as described, it does however need a little TLC and general maintenance on things like loose taps, wonky outside braai (broken wheels), etc

We had such an amazing surprise when we arrived at Berry Guest Farm - Raspberry cottage. We had booked as a last minute break and due to the responsive host had just gone straight ahead without getting too much info. What a treat when we arrived with our 4 children. The farm is a child’s paradise with activities - from amazing zip lines, canoes that are free to use at any time, fishing, waterslides, warm pool, night time child friendly hikes with UV torches… the list goes on, but the plus is that the scenery and nature of the place makes it paradise for adults too. Surrounded by spectacular mountains, and a short distance from nature reserves with hikes, waterfalls, mountain trails and wildlife, well we were just spoilt for choice! We had no idea that the small airbnb we had booked offered all this and we will be sure to return with friends to book a few of the cottages and maybe even camp on the campsite. Note: the campsite was very close to the house but noise wasn’t an issue

Charmaine and Paul were both super friendly and helpful. The house had everything we needed, including lovely views of the mountain! Very modern and clean, with those of great reading material about what to do in the surrounding areas. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely, peaceful and restful stay. It was quiet, beautiful views and scenery. The cottage was very well equipped, clean snd super cosy. We slept well too. We loved the comfy dining chairs the most, could sit and read in them all day, with that stunning view infront on you. We'd recommended to anyone looking to escape a busy life for a few days.

This free standing home is inward looking with three atriums full of trees and plants and the ever present sound of bird song. It is a wonderful retreat for a couple looking for privacy or a rest stop on a country journey. The town is very walkable from the home with a good supermarket five minutes walk away. The kitchen was well equipped to make all kinds of meals . We really enjoyed our two nights of escapism there . Thank you Clive

The Retreat was truly amazing. Nested in a Cul De Sac, with extreme privacy and quiet, it provided the right setting for some good rest. Majorlein is a wonderful host and has designed the home expertly to ensure you have everything needed to unplug and thoroughly enjoy your stay. It is also quite spacious, airy, with multiple seating, lounging and resting areas. A truly wonderful location.

A fabulous location and a truly tranquil garden. It is clear that this is a special place for Darryl and Ron. The house is very well kitted out, the back garden is beautifully kept and the birds just love it! Communication with them was very easy. They are proactive and thoughtful hosts, and respond quickly to any questions. We will be back!

Littlewood is everything you’d want in a getaway. Gorgeous historic house, remarkable, well-cared for garden, wonderful village and finally, the most generous and gracious hosts who live next door and are both responsive and unobtrusive. Thank you Lou and John for all the personal touches like the excellent gift of wine and biscuits, the spotless house, your help, care and attention. Your love of Grayton and suggestions for a great stay made this a highlight. Littlewood is within walking distance of the nature reserve and the village yet its tranquility, remarkable bird life and garden are balm for the soul. Do walk the reserve, visit the old school produce market if it coincides with your visit and sample the excellent restaurants and cafes. Masnskyn was a favourite. Coffee, home baked cakes, breakfast and charm in spades. Love the “book room”, friendly staff and quirkiness. Again, thank you Lou and John for helping make our stay memorable.

Sue’s Place is a really lovely spot. The garden runs into the nature reserve, which makes it feel peaceful and special. The only slightly tricky thing was the alarm, but Sue helped me quickly over text. Would definitely stay again.

Great place for a relaxing weekend, cozy fireplace inside for colder days and great hiking routes and scenic swimming spots for the summer. If you’ve come this far, make that booking.
