I had an absolutely wonderful stay! The space was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable visit. Sparta was perfect for a weekend away. It was a short walk away from a beautiful private lake and quiet and relaxing. Mario was incredibly welcoming and responsive, making check-in seamless. It truly felt like a home away from home. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful stay.

Good location quiet neighborhood. Home is charming has everything you need. If you’re staying with children house has a lot for the kids, games a playground outback and for the adults a hot tub. We were staying while our home was under renovation so we didn’t have time to enjoy the amenities. Lisa is very responsive , and answers all your messages in a timely manner. Would recommend this place! Thank you for hosting us.

We had a great stay! The house was very pretty outside and decorated beautifully inside. It’s right at the top of a hill with a beautiful view of the mountain trees above and creek below. The house is right off the main road so you do hear traffic but it’s completely private. We booked this location to hike so it was perfectly situated between all the waterfalls we wanted to see. We enjoyed the hot tub after hiking although we fought for dominance of the tub with a big orb spider! Lol It’s to be expected in the woods. My son absolutely loved the game room and we had a blast playing pinball, foosball and the game table. The house was stocked with amenities but make sure to bring coffee, shampoo/conditioner and soap for the shower. The beds were comfy and the upstairs rooms all had fans to help on the hot nights. We loved going into town and ate at the Apple Valley restaurant and did some shopping in town. It’s a lovely area! Definitely recommend!

I booked this property as a kind of ad hoc writing retreat. It was the perfect location to complete what work I needed to do. A quick drive into Sparta for restaurants and supplies also made this a great location.

Absolutely lovely lake house and we loved every minute and wished we could have stayed longer. Bob was great in providing instructions and information, and was very flexible. There is good parking for 3 cars, pictures and description is very accurate. You do have to walk down a path and steps to the house (as pictured), and the three main bedrooms are upstairs. The views are the lake are fantastic! And the covered porch on the back of the house looking out over the lake is just wonderful. This was a very special gathering of lifelong friends for a wedding celebration nearby and it was such a great place to stay to enjoy spending time together in a beautiful setting. The kitchen is exceedingly well stocked with everything needed to cook and prepare meals, great appliances and both a Keurig and a drip coffee maker (preferred) is provided. Wifi worked well. Bathrooms very clean. Lovely linens, bedding and towels provided. Bob was a wonderful host and this is a wonderful gem of a place.

William’s cabin is like something out of a movie. The cabin itself is beautiful, made with exceptional craftsmanship. The floors are all hardwood, but our dogs had no problems with it (they usually won’t walk on wood floors). The location is so peaceful, I’d never guess how close we were to shops - but William left a binder with minimal, easy house instructions and lists of all sorts of local attractions - farms, wineries, restaurants, and so on. Everything appliwas as described and worked perfectly. The grounds are almost park-like, but there’s no doubt you’re in nature. We heard barred owls near the cabin at night, and down by the river by day are kingfishers, herons, pileated woodpeckers, and all the usual smaller birds. Obviously, bring bug spray, as with everywhere that’s more rural. There are hiking trials nearby, & the cabin is easy walking distance to the Appalachian trail - if you take it heading west, you’ll get gorgeous views. Overall, 10/10 can’t wait to come back

Nice, spacious cabin, beautiful outdoor space. We really loved the creek running downhill in the backyard and the retro vibe of the kitchen (even with the modern appliances). The bathroom is pretty small but that was really the only complaint from us.

Kristina’s place fit our group nicely! We were down there for an event and had 6 people (plus a kid) that fit in her home nicely. The beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean, kitchen was well stocked and clean, couches were comfy to lounge on, and it was easy to find when arriving. We will be staying here again if we need this amount of space in the future! Plus it was dog friendly which is always a huge plus! There’s a nice little loop to walk them in the neighborhood too!

We loved our stay at Shari's place in Milford! It was a perfect way to get out of Philly for a bit and enjoy winter in the Poconos. Great communication, easy check in, personal touches around the house, thoughtful recommendations. The house is so charming - we loved the design inside and out. The fireplace was a real highlight for us - cozying up every night! Also, the main bedroom has an incredibly comfy bed. A perfect long weekend destination!

My nerd crew wanted a fun place to do a weekend board game getaway, and we had a terrific time at this house! We had some minor setbacks where the cleaners had missed a little bit in setup, but Alex was very responsive and helpful in getting us sorted out. The house and location were very beautiful, and we appreciated that we were able to bring our elderly dogs. I think I might highlight for others that the steep cliff and stairs to the water are a little stressful when you bring small children and pets, especially when slippery after rain, but that should probably be evident from the photos. The gas stove also doesn't have a vent, so I would only use it in warmer weather when you can open all the windows. The town was super cute! We had a great time exploring and enjoyed finding the "Tiny House of Newton", which is a fancy landmark dollhouse in town. Thanks so much for having us in your beautiful place!

We loved going to the lake nearby, and within walking distance. The outdoor backyard was a great place for us to hang out. The smell of mildew in the bedrooms could use some attention and the price point was high, but overall a good find.

This is a nice, comfortable cabin with beautiful views off the back deck. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds comfortable, and there are even wild turkeys and deer wandering around on the property. The listing is accurate to the photos. The property manager communicated quickly and everything was well-handled with kindness.

Boondocks cabin was absolutely charming. As another reviewer mentioned, it feels much more spacious inside than the pictures can show. The well-laid-out kitchen with large counters is great for those who prefer to stay in and cook. It rained our first night, and there were plenty of games and books to keep us occupied. The location was also a perfect "home base" to check out everything the area has to offer. It's only a few yards down the road from several of the trailheads in Stokes, and close enough to other hiking spots that we easily drove to several over the course of our weekend (Buttermilk Falls, Copper Mines trails, Turtle Lake). It's only 5 minutes from Lake Ashroe, which is a super convenient and affordable option for families with younger kids who might not have the attention span or experience for the longer pre-planned river runs offered by the larger canoe/kayak rentals in the Water Gap. The gallery & retail space at Peters Valley is also a must-see. As a potter myself, I was thrilled to see the quality and variety of artists represented, and how many of the artists are local. All in all, we had a great experience. We spent 4 days at Boondocks and could easily have filled 4 more with all the area has to offer. GREAT communication from our hosts, too. Thanks, Dan & Kara!

My 12 year old son and I stayed here for 2 nights. It is exactly as advertised. My son enjoyed fishing and kayaking on the picturesque lake. The surroundings are scenic and tranquil. I enjoyed watching the gorgeous sunrises over the lake while drinking my espresso. We enjoyed the fire pit as the sun set and the stars came out. If you like nature and quiet as well as a clean house this place is ideal. I would come back here anytime.

The cabin was beautiful. Very quiet calm location. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway you will not be disappointed.

David’s camp is spectacular. Meeting us two at the appointed time, he could not have been more gracious and friendly as we toured the property that he has been developing for over a decade. Our lodging had all the qualities of a cabin in the woods that we could imagine plus modern technology, a beautiful bathroom, modern kitchen, comfortable furniture, a vast bedroom, and a sheltered porches on two levels. David’s handiwork includes two fish ponds, a waterfall, and more features in progress. The camp is staggering in scope and execution, but David himself is the highlight.

The stay was exactly what me and my wife were looking for!! Peaceful, roomy, a BBQ grill, close to everything and anything you may need, near trails and best part of it all was the views from the back yard!! The host was SUPER responsive even during the late hours of the night - was super understanding and helped in any way she was able to. She kept everything we may need in the house also. Couldn’t ask for a better host!! Would suggest this place to anyone!!!

My dogs and I stayed for one overnight (passing thru states). The location was easy to find yet secluded. The property is beautiful and my dogs really enjoyed it. The lodging was clean, spacious and as described. The host was quick to respond and friendly. This would be a great location if you are a family with children and/or dogs.

The space was perfect for a peaceful getaway. Great hosts leaving sweet little details (like coffee/tea, granola bars, oatmeal and toothbrushes). We loved our stay!
