Holiday rentals with breakfast in Sussex County

Rick is the most responsive and helpful host I have EVER encountered. He answered all of my questions, sent someone over at 10:30 at night to assist us with an issue (that was completely our fault) and gave us plenty of advice on local attractions. This is also the first place we have stayed where there was coffee provided, cereal, granola bars and fruit cups to get your day started. The place is beautiful and in such a peaceful place. If you have an opportunity to book this, don’t wait!

We had an unforgettable stay at this magical cabin! Izzy and Joe are amazing hosts—warm, responsive, and incredibly thoughtful. Check-in was seamless, and since late checking was requested by them , they kindly offered a late checkout, which we truly appreciated and made our departure more relaxed. The cabin itself is even better than the photos—beautifully decorated, full of natural light, and thoughtfully designed. The bedroom and sunroom with lake views quickly became our favorite cozy spots. The private island with its dreamy daybed swing and breathtaking lake views felt like a hidden paradise, and our dog loved roaming leash-free on the island. Everything in the cabin is intuitively organized, with smart controls for lighting, shades, and TV—managed via an iPad that also contains a well-designed digital guide. We’ve stayed at many cabins over the years, and this one stands out in every way. We’re already planning to return and make this special place an annual tradition

My boyfriend and I LOVED our stay here! The land is such a peaceful, calm area to walk around. The room was so cozy with the fireplace and the bed was so comfortable. Denise was so lovely and our breakfast in the morning was incredible! We can't wait to come back and stay a weekend in the summer and/or fall.

Wonderful stay at this peaceful, beautiful lake house. The hosts were great in all communication and prep for our stay. Very accommodating and sincere. Response times were fast and thoughtful. Beautiful home and peaceful, clean lake. Well organized kitchen and very nice bedrooms. Upfront instructions and check out was a super breeze (no pressure to do a ton of chores like other places). House was large, old but charming, comfortable. Location was great; back deck looked directly out onto a pretty lake, perfect for evening conversation. Hosts went out of their way to provide instant information and were very accommodating to our uncertain arrival. My friends and I couldn't have been happier with our experience in Stanhope.

Dana is a wonderful, kind, thoughtful human being and outstanding host. She really takes hospitality seriously. She’s very warm, responsive and resourceful. Her place is a wonderful retreat away from busy city life. Highly recommend staying with her when you’re in the area!

We had a quick stay at Anil's place, just one night. Our dinner at Crystal Springs was endlessly delayed and Anil was very accommodating in terms of letting us check in after midnight. Room was clean, homey and comfortable. Anil is very friendly and clearly loves what he does — very happy to have met him.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Eleanor’s place and everything was perfect. My husband and I were there for a Spartan race and the room with the tub was amazing for after the race! We really got to relax and recover. Then the breakfast fit for royalty in the morning was divine. She went all out with a frittata and omelets and fruit and coffee and toast, scones, french toast bake, and everything tasted amazing, it was more than we expected. Lastly, Eleanor is a lovely person, she’s very sweet and kind. We will definitely be coming back and telling all our friends! Thank you for having us!

The Fox and Bear lodge was so charming! We had a nice, quiet and comfortable one night stay while traveling upstate for a wedding. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed a leisurely morning before we departed. The staff and owners are friendly and attentive. This place is a great find for the area.

Enjoyed my second visit to this inn. Got to use the fireplace this time and it was really nice.
