My wife and I were in Poquoson for our step daughters HS graduation. I had been stationed at Langley from 2006-2010 so it was like a trip down memory lane. Gabby’s accommodations were perfect as it was about 2 miles from our step daughter’s home. It does not have a full kitchen, but get out and explore the area to eat!!!! 10/10!!!!

You will love absolutely everything about this place, located directly on a beautiful peaceful cove. Absolutely spotless inside, everything you could possibly need - from bug repellent to doggie bags to crab traps and canoes. The pictures truly don't do the place justice. If you are looking for peace and quiet, and gorgeous surroundings, this is it. Stop browsing and book!

Dawn and Rich knew that we were going to be spending our wedding night at their place and left us a sweet little card to congratulate us on this special event. My new husband and I appreciated this sentiment. The place was very clean and welcoming. I would highly recommend!

Our stay in this home was such a treat! We enjoyed utilizing the kayaks to boat around in Chesapeake Bay. The hot tub was an absolute delight, perfect for evening stargazing, saw lots of shooting stars, and could see the water of the bay from the hot tub. We also enjoyed doing November cold plunges from the hot tub to the pool. While the living room is not expansive, it fit our needs for family game & movie nights. The bed linens were so comfortable, and Lori was beautifully responsive & friendly when we would reach out with a question. We also enjoyed the nearby Sandy beaches.

We had the most amazing weekend staying at this cozy cottage for my son’s birthday getaway. From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. The space was clean, beautifully decorated, and had such a peaceful, welcoming vibe. It truly felt like peace from the moment we stepped out of the car. The cottage had everything we needed. It made settling in so easy and stress-free, especially with little one in tow. The hosts were beyond incredible. Their warmth, hospitality, and attention to detail made our stay unforgettable. They even went out of their way to help make my son’s birthday feel extra special by letting us do cake with family in their backyard, which meant the world to us. This trip was full of sweet memories, and a huge part of that was thanks to this beautiful cottage and its amazing hosts. We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. The beach was quiet and a great place to walk. Family gathered around the fire pit every night (not too many bugs!). The house nicely decorated and spacious. It is an "upside down" house, with the main living space on the 3rd floor, which has incredible views of the bay. (Plus a good workout to walk up the stairs!) We appreciated the bedroom on the 3rd floor as we were traveling with my 88 year old MIL. She didn't need to use the elevator, but it was nice to know that was an option, if needed (extra charge). The second floor features three bedrooms and we brought a long a queen size mattress which fit in the 2nd floor TV area, a good option for our 6'5" son. Also loved the deck on the 2nd floor. The nearby town is great, but restaurants close early so check before you go. We recommend the Hole in the Wall as it is on the bay. Check out the Saturday morning Farmers Market, a great place to buy gifts made by locals. Highly recommend!

Stayed in Meredith's above-garage apartment while in Mathew's for the Tour de Chesapeake bike ride. The apartment was clean and comfortable and easy to access with lots of little extras - snacks, water bottles, gym and access to laundry. Took advantage of the kayaks almost as soon as I arrived. The apartment was well stocked with thoughtful extras. A nice touch I always appreciate - well-placed, sturdy hooks in the bathroom, make it easy to hang toilet kit and keep clothes off the ground. The place was private, clean and extremely comfortable and Meredith was super easy to communicate with.

Best decision ever to come to Tricia’s cottage for a “month of solitude,” to work remote and enjoy some extended relaxation. Walking to the tip of New Point every evening to watch the sunset and the birds over the bay was the highlight of every day. Rarely seeing another human was another unexpected bonus. I had no idea I’d practically have this entire place to myself. Bavon and this beach house are both very special, under the radar gems that I feel so lucky to have found on Airbnb. I truly hope Airbnb doesn’t also give this secret away. Tricia was an ideal host -— I appreciated her prompt, proactive communication and how comfortable she’s made her home. I especially appreciate her opening up the HideAway Cottage for others like me to enjoy, who crave peace and quiet, sand and sunshine, water and nature, and not feeling rushed to be anywhere else but hanging with the egrets, pelicans, and blue herons.
