Holiday rentals with lake access in South Lakeland District

A wonderful spot. We loved our time here and the house is just so homely and cosey but bags of space. The BBQ, sauna and hot tub really made it a place a bunch of friends could make home. There were some lovely walks super close and and one lovely one down the river into Sedbergh. Lovely stuff.

What a hidden treasure! We absolutely loved the location and the space was perfect for us. Even when we had a slight hiccup it was resolved efficiently and with no disruption to us. We would defintely book again. Many thanks Kim!

We had a wonderful visit to the Lake District. Berkeley House is an amazing property. The space is full of light and every area has been thoughtfully designed and furnished. The decor and furnishings are of an extremely high standard. The three bedrooms are en-suite, one having a full bath. The beds are king sized and super comfy. The towels and bedding are luxurious. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with top of the range equipment. The dining and living area is open, bright and spacious. The outdoor area is secure and private with an enclosed lawn, lower and upper decks. The upper deck having a view of Lake Windermere. The location is perfect, and extremely peaceful despite being only about a minute's walk from the town . It looks even better than the photos! The hosts were excellent - easy to contact, friendly and extremely helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much we can't wait to return. We were very sad to leave this beautiful house.

I can’t recommend Will and Giles’ place enough. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. The information sent prior to arrival was brilliant, the cottage was much bigger than we expected and it’s in an amazing location right by Coniston. The place was spotless and had some lovely touches. We will be back!

Can’t say enough about the house and its host. Very clean, nice linens, comfy beds and perfect location to get to local shops, restaurants, pubs etc. We had a really lovely stay and Lizzie was super helpful and hospitable, ensuring our stay was perfect. Windermere (and Bowness on Windermere) are 10min walk from the house. It truly is a beautiful location to enjoy the Lake District. We will definitely be back!

parking for 2 cars was perfect. location was great and so quiet and yet in the centre of everything.

Elisabeth's property is a great place located in a beautiful area, that is extremely close to shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Located close to Skiddaw and Lake Derwent, you can leave the house and chose a hike of your choice. The house is equipped with everything you need and I will be looking to return when back in the area.

We stayed at Brad and Sue’s place in Coniston in June. Great location - lots of restaurants and cafes in walking distance and several small shops for essentials. We were 5 adults and a dog and found the accommodation really comfortable with everything we needed for our week. Helpful tips for local pubs, cafes and restaurants from Brad and Sue. Lots to do around Coniston.

Peter was very helpful, and the check-in process was easy. We arrived early, and when I mentioned this to Peter, he told me that I could check in right away if the cleaner had finished. That really made my day. The place was lovely, cozy, and quiet; it felt like home. Thank you once again for all your help. We look forward to visiting you again soon.

Ray and Sue were extremely responsive throughout, they met us and showed us around the apartment. They were very friendly and advised if we needed anything else we could reach out to them. The apartment was exactly as described, clean, loads if room, and we had very comfy beds. We had every item required in the kitchen, plus juice, milk and chocolate biscuits in the fridge which was a lovely gesture, plus tea, coffee, and sugar. Everything was to hand. We had a great stay, I would definitely recommend this accommodation, and our hosts Ray and Sue were brilliant. Thank you so much. X

A beautiful studio in a gorgeous location. Eric and Julie were very welcoming on our arrival, we will return.

Scafell View had everything we needed. There was onsite private parking so guaranteed an easy space opposite the property and the apartment is a good size with everything you need. There were 3 of us staying and it great base from which to explore the local area and the views are amazing, especially the night sky! Sharon provided clear instructions on how to find the property with some suggestions and helpful info in the apartment. The only thing I'd ask for would be a few more adult board games for the evenings.

Stunning place, inside was lovely and beautiful surroundings. We booked last minute and as 2 travelling with work so did not get to enjoy the place as much as I wish we could of!

Great little stay walking distance from the train station. Lovely, quiet home was everything we needed!

My husband, son, and I visited the Strawberry Cottage for four days and four nights recently and we had a wonderful time. It was the perfect size for us - ample space to lounge and cook meals. The beds were comfy so we got great sleep. And the location was perfect - just steps away from so many restaurants, the bus stop to adventures in nearby towns, and lots of trails around Derwentwater. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Me and my boyfriend had such a wonderful time staying at The Loft, it’s such a gorgeous place - perfect for two. The staff at the barn were so welcoming and friendly, they really made us feel welcome and were happy to help us at all times. We both agree that there is nowhere else we’d have rather stayed and would definitely go back again in the future. Thank you for having us! 😊

This cute little cottage is at a central location in Windermere. It was very conveniently located as we had our toddler and our parents with us. Lake Windermere's shore access, Queen Adelaide's hill view point, Millerground shore access were all in super-short driving distances. There's a large supermarket, restaurants, and pubs within 100m. The cottage has a designated parking space as well. The home is very child-friendly (has baby cot, high chair, baby gate). It also has a bunch of small touches that made our stay very comfortable. Mark and Deborah are excellent hosts and were constantly in touch after booking with recommendations and stay instructions. Overall, a great stay, and we didn't need to bring anything extra.

We really enjoyed our stay at Emma and Gary's cottage, it is lovely and spacious, the garden was a bonus, and the area is beautiful and peaceful. Emma has thought of things you may need to make your stay enjoyable, the kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. We would highly recommend a stay at Emma and Gary's cottage, a great base to enjoy this part of the Lake District.

A fantastic option for our week in the Lake District. Conveniently situated, spotlessly clean and well equipped. A very comfortable place that exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back.

4 of us stayed at Penny's for 3 nights. Great stay-walkable to center of village-15 minute walk to Booth's (grocery). Fully stocked kitchen/Everything was super clean. Penny is great host.

One can see a lot of thought has gone into providing a well appointed residence. The location is excellent and Stuart's place has all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay and we would gladly return.

Teapot Cottage is a beautiful place to stay. It was very well kitted out, decorated very nicely, and had lots of nice touches to make our stay even better. Lammisa was a great host - very responsive and friendly, and was happy to help whenever needed. There's great local amenities within walking distance, and several local villages and towns within a short drive, including Ennerdale Lake. The place was very comfortable, with plenty of seating indoor and out, with several comfy beds suitable for a group of adults. The only thing to be aware of is that the bedroom with the bunk beds has very little storage space, so if you're staying for a few days and have a large bag/suitcase - you'll need to find somewhere else to put it! Overall - we were all very pleased with this stay and we'd definitely book again in future.
