Apartment holiday rentals in South Lakeland District

This was our second stay at Fiona’s place and we loved it just as much as the first. The location is so beautiful and the views from the window are perfection. The beds are so comfortable and the sheets were so luxurious that we looked at the label on the bedding and ordered the same ones before we left! We were within 25 minutes drive of Buttermere, Crummock Water, Derwent Water and Bassenthwaite, all of which were amazing swim spots. Fiona is very friendly and was available to answer any questions we had. We will be back next year. 😊

100% wonderful experience. The apartment looked as beautiful as the images, and well-equipped. The location was very convenient too, only 5mins walk to Windermere station so it’s quite lovely to cook. Would defo recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, nice apartment everything we needed was provided and was kept to a high standard. The only let down was parking as we were the only place without a place provided. All in all a great experience.

This is a perfect stay for a quiet getaway. Felt very safe as a woman on my own. The flat was really clean and homely. They left a lovely card and drinks and chocolate. Lovely friendly hosts. Can't thank you enough for the stay! I highly recommend to anyone.

The apartment is well appointed and private with quiet rooms. We loved the big windows and breeze blowing through. Great location to the village!

Great place! Super spacious and spotless.. comfortably fit three of us. I really enjoyed the quirky style and colorful decor, and there were plenty of books and games to keep us entertained during downtime. Siobhan was very responsive and helpful throughout. The location is fantastic, easy to walk to shops and restaurants, but still nice and quiet. Plus, the views from the window were a lovely bonus!

Beautiful place in the countryside! Super clean, has everything you might need… and more (like an homemade cake we found in the kitchen waiting for us ❤️) The hosts are super friendly, responsive and helpful, the location is superb if you like quiet and off-the-beaten-track places!

Diane's house is a beautiful place to stay in Lancaster. In the surroundings of the city's Castle, the place is well placed in the heart of the city and just 7 mints to the main stores. The house is small but it has everything you need, including a living room to have lunch and well equipped kitchen. The bed was very comfy to sleep. I struggled to find the house at the beginning due to incorrect name of the street. Other than that, the experience was gorgeous. I will definitely suggest to stay there.

The most beautiful property at the most beautiful location. The apartment is even better than what the pictures manage to capture, with the location to die for. You have incredible views from each one of the windows. They have provided with very well laid out and detailed information and instructions about everything in and around. Will definitely revisit.

We had a lovely stay in Angela's apartment. The hosts were extremely friendly and we felt right at home. The location is great and just a few minute walk to the village centre shops, pubs and restaurants; and 5 minutes drive to the Glen Mary Bridge car park which we were using for our walking on this visit. We stayed in Room 2 (Grey Friar) - the living room was very spacious, the kitchen and bathroom were a good size, though the bedroom was quite narrow, but this would not put us off returning. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Coniston or walking in the surrounding fells.

It’s a GREAT place to stay, I’ll definitely come again! The accommodation itself is good. It’s clean and tidy, with a decent place to work, quiet and friendly neighbour, and all the facilities I need. The hosts are so nice and friendly! The location is convenient as well, it’s not too far from the railway station, Iceland supermarket, library and the Kendal castle, and it only takes about 40 min to get to windermere.

The apartment was clean, easy to access and in the middle of Ambleside, close to everything the town has to offer. Parking was close by. We had one question/request to which George responded in the most positive manner on the same day. Beautiful town. Good People. Good spot. Good value.

Had a great couple of days here. Great central location with lots of pubs and places to eat. Easy to drive into The Dales for walks and Heather was a great host. Sweetcorn is a clean and cosy flat on the main road, pub directly next door and one across the road, both dog friendly 🙂. Car park is really close as well which was handy.

Lovely place, very clean and well laid out. Nice large bathroom and plenty of space for luggage. Very peaceful and great views, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Highly recommended.

Such a steal last minute booking on a bank holiday, we were so surprised it hadn’t been booked being in such a central location and obviously the hot tub which is always a big swading point for us. The bathroom was absolutely gorgeous. So spacious for 2. The hot tub was a lovely temp with a little cover above us which helped with privacy from other houses and the rain. Though there was a little tear or two in it which meant rain seeped through but this didn’t bother us. We were a little taken back there wasn’t a microwave either but again this wasn’t an issue. Everything was spotless. Round the corner from one of our favourite pubs (the crafty baa) and plenty of food, drink and shops around. Thank you so much for having us, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay xx

Just had an incredible weekend break at Jenny's gorgeous accommodation. I have seen other reviews saying that the photos and description doesn't do this place justice and I totally agree. The lodge had everything we needed, was perfectly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The views from the balcony are breathtaking!! The location is so picturesque, peaceful and clean and extremely close to Keswick. We took full advantage of the gym, swimming pool, sauna and hot tub, which was a brilliant way to start/finish the day. Also highly recommend the White Horse pub, where I have eaten the best chicken burger ever! Jenny, thank you for the kind and thoughtful treats. We highly recommend your place to anyone!! xxx

A lovely loft - perfect and just what we needed for our 2 day mini-break. The loft was much bigger than we anticipated so that was a lovely surprise. The little touches were great too - fresh towels, milk, butter, instructions for the hot tub, even some jigsaws for the rainy afternoon. Everything we needed. The outdoor space was so peaceful. Even though we were on the farm’s property, we felt right at home, comfortable and had the privacy we wanted. The neighbours were adorable - cows and their calves! The outdoor space was secure for our two dogs. Plenty of room for them to stretch their legs and play on the grass. Thanks for a great stay!

Jay's Nest it's a great place to stay. Friendly hosts, convenient location, close to the centre of the village and many beautiful walks on the doorstep. Perfect base for those who wish to explore Lake District. The flat has home from home feel. The kitchen has all essentials and no need to wash up, dishwasher does it for you. Clean, working washing machine with dryer if needed. The seating area very cosy with nice views through windows, you can relax after a long day walking. Big bedroom with comfortable bed and plenty of space for storing your gear/clothes etc. Again, super clean, couldn't ask for more. Fair size spotless ensuite with good size shower. Plenty of space to keep what you need in the bathroom. Sadly, due to the weather, we were not able to use the outside area where having a morning coffee or evening drink must be super enjoyable. It was our first time in LD and we will be back to Jay's Nest, that's for sure. Needless to say, we highly recommend Jay's Nest!

What a truly wonderful little place, there is so much to do for the kids and my two really did enjoy it! The apartment was absolutely stunning, spotless and also very spacious. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to book a trip away to the lakes be it with children or without. We will definitely be coming back!

Lovely apartment for our Lake District stay. Clean, bright and very comfortable, it formed a perfect base for what we wanted to do in the area. It's on a holiday complex so we could sometimes hear other people from the lovely patio area but this wasn't overly intrusiv, and the view is lovely. We ate in the on-site restaurant once which was fine. There is lots of free parking and four EV chargers which we used twice. The attractions of Ullswater, Derwent Water and Keswick are within easy reach - on a wet day we visited the Keswick Pencil Museum which we have not got round to on previous visits and found it surprisingly good. Overall this is a very well kept apartment which formed a very comfortable base for our short stay.

Very convenient for our needs. The place does exactly what it says on the tin. David makes check in and stay very easy, great communication.
